I have a number of the old, Armorcast titans. The only one I haven't been able to track down is a 40k scale Warlord, but I believe only a few were ever cast, and never sold, so that's a pipe dream.
Now, since the days of Armorcast there have been a couple newer classes of titans. The Warbringer and the Dire Wolf. I was thinking of giving 3d modeling a go and try to make a printable version of these, but in the old school Armorcast style, for the giggles. Would something like this ever be of interest to anyone?

Do it. Even if it'll be financially unsuccessful, do it.

Sounds fun. 3d modeling is a skill that you'll develop over time. I think you'll learn a lot by going for that.

It sounds like a really niche idea, but I imagine the people who are fans of the old armorcast designs will absolutely love it.

Wait a minute... there's no such thing as an Armorcast Warlord Titan! *googles* Oh. My. God. That thing looks really cool.

Quick update on this project. Started off by finding some nice Armorcast STL files and started playing with them a bit. Basically just enlarged the Reaver. Overall it didn't look good and looked like a bad ebay hackjob. It wasn't all bad though.
The good: The five-towed foot and shin did scale up well. I think I'll be keeping that. The weapons also look okay
The bad: The head just looks funny when it's bigger. Same for the hips and thighs. I'm thinking about going with something more like the thighs on a FW Reaver
The Ugly: modded torso is the biggest letdown. No real way to make it look right. I did have the idea to make the torso look more like that of the Epic Mk2 Warlord. It would be a bit more angular than the other Armorcast stuff, but still somewhat fitting.

I also was unaware that armourcast ever made a warlord. Now I want one.
I have an armourcast warhound, one day i'll actually get around to painting it alone with my 2nd ed marine army.

it's the quiet ones you have to look out for. Their the ones that change the world, the loud ones just take the credit for it. |
