Here goes.
My attempt at an army of Louis XIV collection. Beginning with a couple companies of infantry and some cavalry.
The first company I'm working on is the Grenadier company of the Garde Francais.
And the first element of the Picarde Infantry regiment, along with the plate I based them on.

24 grenadiers, 2 sergeants. These will complement the 24 grenadiers I already have built/partially painted and complete the company.
 Automatically Appended Next Post: quick update from the desk. 8 more Picarde infantry finalized.
Man, its starting to look like something.

I've decided that companies of infantry will be 50 miniatures, and companies of cavalry will be 36 figures.
I've also brough both current units up to the 50 men for their first companies. i'll probably get these done after the first of the year.
I think the last thing I'm going to paint for the year is this command base.

I thought for a second that the Picarde infantry were on black marble bases and I thought - wow...
