I have some really old jump packs that I picked up as bits about 20 years ago. One of the jump packs I've never seen before. Is it from GW?
See attached pics.
The middle jump pack is the one in question. The others are RT era barrel or can shaped jump pack and the traditional 2nd edition metal jump pack.

It doesn’t look familiar to me.

I searched for the jump pack and the only thing I could find was an old eBay listing.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/235494884713

The seller says it was a Rogue trader era prototype in the listing.

I'm always very suspicious when people label things their selling as a "prototype."

I agree. I still have no idea who might have made it if GW didn't.
It's definitely lead.

The model from that listing is in the 1999 annual, which came with the classic plastic jump pack, so that’s no help on origin.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Not entirely sure thats a GW part.. I suppose it could be a guardsman Jump Pack, IIRC those looked a bit different to the Marine jump packs..

It looks third-party to me; similar enough to get sales from 40K players but different enough to be "legally distinct". Still have no idea who made.

Pretty sure it’s not GW.

That style (as seen in the left hand one) came in 2nd Ed, on Assault Marines.

It was later adapted to plastic.

The middle one is clearly in the same vein, but GW never released a variant in metal.

I sent an email to GW:

Thanks for your email.

We certainly don't recognise that middle jump pack, but if we did and it were a prototype, we wouldn't be able to confirm that.

There are design elements on it that are reminiscent of other early and later models produced, so it certainly could be a prototype, but we're confident it was not part of a Citadel Miniature that ever saw a release.

Unfortunately, there would be no other official channel we could signpost you to, but if there is anything else we can assist with, please do let us know.

Kind regards,

Maybe try asking on the Oldhammer Forum? They might know about something like this.
