Mobs no longer attempt to walk over Signs or other non-solid Blocks if the drop below is too tall.

You can use water to push them off still can't ya?

Not in the nether (which is where Grundz pigmen/gold farm is I believe)

I already have a plan and the pistons for this but rebuilding the gold farm is going to be a huge pain in the ass and I need to experiment if mobs will spawn on top of pressure plates
if they won't then automatic gold farm may be largely impossible.

but this gives me a chance to build it over a lava ocean or some garbage so occasionally all the pigmen wont spawn outside of the spawner

Ah, and I suppose lava pushes too slowly to push them off, hrm.

I made a crusher at one point, they just jump to the top when it closes.

crusher doesn't matter, you use pistons to shove them off a ledge, its very fast and effecient if you can stop mobs from spawning outside of the contraption

someone locate me a lava ocean without overhangs and crap where pigmen will spawn preferably at the intersection of 4 chunks

It's hard to tell with nether maps (as the mapping stuff strips off the roof), but this one looks kinda big:

I was just pointing it out to the crusher idea, pushing them takes less resources.

Dakka lettering complete. I think it needs 1 block shaved off the frame on the right. I'm undecided on whether to add a "Welcome to" to the top. Think it would spoil it?

Nah that looks badass...

Unless the "Welcome To" is on top of it after they add the doubled skybox height, leave it be.

The "welcome to" would be much smaller and possibly in Minecraft chat font style (e.g. 1 block thick lettering). I might try some stuff out in single player creative mode, but I'll certainly leave it be for at least a week or two.

Thanks to felsi helping me gather more stone brick (yay), the first level of my the end habitat is finished, it now has a storage/crafing area and a wheat farm. Whee.

Now to go head back, grab some glass panes, and this time not use them on broken nether tunnel windows and instead save them to make this building look better.

Yeh fixing nether windows is a losing battle...
