Hmm... my buddy ordered the hardcover and it was encased in several sheets of cardboard taped sealed, then put in a box. It was nice and minty.
Even my "veteran's edition" slipcase was double packed (in it's own packaging/box put inside the main box)

That is great to hear. I hope mine when it shows up) is packed like that. The book is the thing I am most excited about.

Just got my stuff - everything looks good so far, at least as far as the stuff from my second survey is concerned.

I was wondering - aren't we supposed to get printed editions of Incursion and Nexus Psi as part of the Kickstarter?

I mean - I got my hardcover book, but it thought it might be nice to have another set of books to give away and recruit further players...

Damn, you're right - I just checked the Strike pledge contents, and it's digital only. Well, they probably should have made them purchasable via PM - but at least I've got the basic rules to give away...

They were purchaseable.

I believe it was $10 for the Compendium and $40 for the Hardcover. Free with $300 (normal compendium) pledge and free with $750 (hardcover) pledge.

I'm hoping they have everything in the third PM, but I suspect it'll only be the plastic stuff.

Yeah, my Veteran's slipcase came with Nexus Psi, Incursion, and Contagion, and a thick piece of cardboard; all shrinkwrapped together. You slide out the cardboard and put in the Deadzone rulebook. It looks real snazzy on my shelf.

Details on the third survey are a bit vague but it looks like it will be more than just the wave 3 plastics, Asterians and Forgefathers will be in there. we'll see on Monday anyway. I might pick up the Asterian and FF boosters I passed on and hopefully the enforcer sprues are available separately.

Third Survey

A third survey gives you a chance to get some of the items you might not have been able to pick up before, and a final opportunity to make use of some of the silly Kickstarter prices, like Enforcers in Peacekeeper armour for just $10! They will not be this price after this survey closes!!!
Not everything was shown off before we closed the last survey. The Asterians and Forge Fathers were concept art for example, so now you’ve seen all the photos, you might want to dip back in and pick some up.
Similarly, you will be able to get extra mats if you’ve been dying to try out a multi-mat game since reading Deadzone: Incursion, or play with the A.I. rules from Contagion with a set of Plague Zombies and the A.I. Deck.
And the icing on the cake - everything will ship post free!

The Third Survey will be released on the 22nd September and will close on the 5th October, giving you two weeks to fill your boots with as much Deadzone as you can handle.

I am very, very happy with my buy-two-for-$50-faction-starters (got Asterian and Forge Father starter) and the buy-one-$50-big-booster-bundle-get-one-free (for the Asterians and Forge Fathers). Basically for $100 I got a giant gob of really cool minis and there's still the Forge Guard sprue from the starter and the Forge Guard sprue from the Booster Bundle coming. If they still have those deals in wave 3, I cannot recommend highly enough dropping the $100 to get the Asterian and FF starters and booster bundles.

I was thinking along the same line as judge doug, just not sure which factions I want to go with. I don't have any Asterians yet, and I think when all is said and done I'll be good on Enforcers (the starter options and extra boosters as well), plus enough Peacekeeper suits to deck out just about every figure already in the unit.

I might grab the hardcover if it's on offer again as well, as nice as the slipcase is with all the matching spines.

I just wish the slipcase had space for the zombie campaign stuff, as I can't seem to jam it in between the other books.

Regarding the rules, I'm pretty sure I did not pay for any and I got a shrink-wrapped set of Nexus Psi + Incursion + Contagion. This in addition to the "Compendium" which is the same 3 things in a cardboard slipcase that I got for pledging $300+.

Wait. I got the shrink wrapped thing, which I thought was the compendium I paid $10 for in the survey. Are you saying there is a different one?

edit: Oh, that's the pledge higher one. I can totally read.

Deadzone Veteran Edition (Compendium) Books Finished and in warehouse Arrived Deadzone Veteran Reward for pledge total over $300: Deadzone Nexus Psi, Deadzone: Incursion and Deadzone: Contagion in an exclusive Slipcase.

So yeah, you got the 'pay $10 and get a compendium one' plus the free for over $300 one.

I did mine a week ago, and have heard nothing yet other than an automated "yep, we got it".

Nope, no shipping notice here either (yet). My order probably clocks in at only 3 or 4 lbs. Nothing major, so not sure if it's a case that a ship notice never got sent.

They're sending my stuff tomorrow, but I might be getting preferential treatment due to the scope of the snafu. With wave 1, the missing bits just turned up one day with no advance warning, I'm guessing 3-4 weeks after I submitted the form.

Hopefully 3rd survey will have the option for sprues of regular Enforcers. That is probably the only thing I'm interested in at this point.

There might be some more text floating along out there still to come along. - The back of the Hardback book had a few pages of designers notes at the back, for example.

They said you would send a notification of shipment with Royal Mail, but no tracking number. Mantic does not have the greatest email track record as we've seen.

To be fair, they were actively blacklisted from gmail for a while. I went through hell to get my payment requests from Mantic to a) appear at all in my gmail, and now their emails b) go immediately to spam, despite me marking every mantic email as "safe".

I'll have to go back and check my order though. While not pretre levels of crazy, 21lbs is still pretty hefty and I really don't recall having that much.

Me either. Supposedly even royal mail was supposed to get a ship notice, guess they're saving me for dead-last. Or I got forgotten again. Though that time I did get a ship notice, it was just erroneous.

And just so I'm not only whining about shipping, here's the images from the mars attacks update 101 today:
