Very easy to paint. That's a maybe 5 hours job.

That is a damn fine paint job, especially for a 5-hour job. Seriously jealous.

I agree with you on the material preference, though. I took everything they would give me in metal.

The model looks great Mathieu!

Though I still don't want it, as nice as it looks, because there's a little voice in my head telling me it's going to be a pain in the ass to transport.

It's going to require a custom cut space and full body support.

Same here. I wouldn't insert her in one of the new GW cases, but a Battlefoam, if you pluck the whole shape out in one chunk and then shave the appropriate thicknesses to blanket it, would be best.

Think she'd ride okay in a cookie-sheet system?

A magnetized transport system (where the model has a magnet fixed to the base and just rides magnetized to a metal plate).

The most rock-bottom way of doing this is with a cookie sheet.

Here's a thread on it. (And since it's MY thread, you can see why I'm interested in finding out if Nephy will ride in that system.) If her arms are delicate enough that even impact-free jostling might dislodge them, then she probably needs foam. If you can shake the gak out of her without her bits falling off, then she can prolly be magnetized well enough to stay in place.

Thanks for the pics Mathieu! I definately need to get my hands on(several of) that model.

It's going to be a Fall/Winter release correct?

Ah, I had no idea it was called that way. My friend cut metal sheets at the bottom of cheap Ikea boxes (the ones with a metal-rimmed lid) to do the same.

The issue is most probably base size. Because she is particularly tall (about 65mm or 2 5/8"), she will tip over if there is enough force shearing her sideways. With a 40mm base, that is pretty much taken care of. And it protects all the delicate tendrils at the bottom. Her right arm is one solid piece, so no danger of breaking it. All of the appendages on top of her have tight fits and at least 2 or 3 mm of depth for each of them.

I'd say, unless you drive on Canadian roads, or take turns like a motherfether, you should be fine.

Finally got mine! A whole load of JBs (2 basic troops, 2 commands, 1 sniper squad and a couple characters). Love them, very crisp details, lovely (if TINY) miniatures. After one gets used to GWs huge hands and heads, well proportioned stuff is weird at first looks

I got ONE badly bent part, a regular gun arm, on one of the command groups. I´ll try and fix that with hot water. The one piece that I didnt like was one of the heads, that comes with the heavy weapons on the command group. It has this weird flat top, I figure it is some sort of hat. Cannot for the life of me understand it.

For the resin ones, have you found anything convenient for degreasing? I can't seem to find anything that works without excessive scrubbing and is available in our country.

I use Pine-Sol. I set a timer to 15 minutes, then grab them out of there, lay them on a wax paper sheet so I don't mess up the counter and just scrub with an old toothbrush. 1 minute per model, say. Then you thoroughly rince them and let them dry overnight.

I forgot to do it for one squad... and it convinced me that it worked, because otherwise the primer will be runny and glossy and never really dries.

Well mine just arrived, however I seem to be missing my Elektra Eisenstein, half wonder if she just wouldn't fit as the two boxes were certainly tightly packed as it is. Looks like its email time on that front.

Very pleased with the metals, shame I couldn't request it on more things, not that the resins bad but I doubt the resin Aleksandr would be heavy enough to break a toe should you dare to drop him. So much for watering the garden tonight.

He is a dangerous chunk of metal. I got him, and it is the heaviest mini I have ever had, I think. For the size, anyway. And that cape would probably break fragile things it impacts. Not sure about toes.

How do they compare to, say, Necromunda Escher? They are much more true scale than most GW stuff.

If you can get Simple Green in CAN, I'd use that. I use it for stripping paint off models including resins, and it cut grease nicely without damaging plastics like PineSol can. It also doesn't damage your hands like PineSol...

Yeah, you can't work too long with PineSol, but for a bunch of 5 minis, I figured I was safe.

I once "forgot" a pewter minotaur (the nice Confrontation one) in Circa Soft. I was told it wouldn't damage metal. It was completely pited when I found it, a few years later.

I've never seen Simple Green. Available in big box stores, I guess? I don't have those around me.

I think at this rate the rest of their stuff will finally hit retail around October or November this year.

None at my local hardware store, unfortunately. Maybe it's because of the English name (it wouldn't surprise me). Because I know they're not going to translate it to "Simple Vert", it would make too much sense. Next time the car needs a fixin', which should be soon (I have extra cash in my bank account), I'll check Canadian Tire.

These are amazing. I was sceptical initially, as warrior-women tend to be overtly sexualised, as if women are so bloody stupid they turn up to a fight without wearing any clothes (maybe worrying that bulky, male-oriented body armour would clash with their nails, or the enemy won't shoot them because they've got a camel toe).

Let's see how much protection a scanty dress is if they're fighting a human aspie, or an alien of any species.

Fortunately you've avoided this trap with a lot of them.

The Cyberzombie would make a truly fearsome Obliterator... coming up with a backstory for that would be really interesting.
