p.s. now I'm going to have to build a warloard because you've inspired me

p.p.s. Just out of interest did you rescale any of the templates from the leviathan crusader ( namely the ones you don't mention if you have changd e.g. the torso templates and the majority of the leg templates)

Thank you.

Any of the templates that I modified are shared in this thread.

My local FLGS closed and I haven't had much desire to work on my 40K stuff, but I'll try and find the time to finish my titan before years end, if only stop it's half builf for from mocking me

This guy did an absolutely spectacular warlord titan, if you're looking for some more inspiration. The WIP thread is up on warseer somewhere. Some of the over-all design ideas I may have done differently myself, but what really got me was all the micro-level details: catwalks, flashing lights, servitors running about their work.

Your project looks like it's coming along real well though. Stay at it! I'll be sure to watch out for updates to this thread

Took a long break from 40K since the LFGS store closed, but talked to a few of my friends and we'll be playing 40K again soon..

At the moment I'm torn between finishing the titan as is, or doing some major overhauls.

I would suggest using something cheap and abundant like foamcore, or even carboard if your desperate, as the base building material and adding layers of detailed skin over it.

That way your not wasting valuable materials on the base, which you'll probably be making changes to on the fly.

Also, the biggest let down I've seen on scratch built titans is people who don't layer in any detail. I've seen more than a few Warhounds that follow the plans exactly, glue on a few chapeter symbols and paint and call it a day.

Thank you for your help and for answering my questions you are an asset to this community I am currently using 2mm card for the one I am trying to make in my spare time (thank you for the templates) and am thinking about using foamcore for the chest plate then plasticard for detailing. I am having a bit of trouble with joining some of the templates together for the legs so I am thinking of using thin strips of card or paper on the inside for a bit or structural support.

Your titan is amazing. I mean amazing. in fact it is so amazing that i have started making my own (by the way im only 13). I have gone for a fast easy to make titan. It is not like any other warlord. it is sort of my own style. I have made it so it is light and portable by a.useing cardboard b.making parts detachable.

Do you have any tips for me?

p.s. your titans awsome
p.s.s. you titans amazing
p.s.s.s. i will have some pictures soon

This is would not be a very good move as you could just get a warhound to carry that. The titans best use is from ranged attacks. It also has void sheilds witch would be useless in CC.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

I got my STOMPA assembled like 10 pieces of it and immediately dug out my Warlord Titan, well at least what pieces of it I could find.

Having taken a big break, I'm looking at it from a fresh perspective. I've had inspirational breakthroughs.

I'll put up some new pics this weekend.

Both of the original heads were fugly. Now I've basically smashed them together to make a new head. It's larger than I orignally planned, but it's big enough to seat a crew and the required tech, as well as beefy enough to look like it can take a hit.

Considering the Warlord is armless and weaponless, I'm going to roll with this new head untill the rest of the titan is finished. After I'm done, with everything esle I may revisit it.

I bulked up the abdominal armor. Nothing too fancy. I added an additional layer of foamcore and rounded the corners, like the Epic Model..

I think the next thing I will work on is the shoulders. Everything I've done soo far is about to scale with what I figured, but the torso looks undersized without the shoulders. I know it isn't, but it's bugging me.

Alot of the stuff I'll be doing over the next few days, I'll be sure to take plenty of pics of and provide measurements as I go, but I'm holding off on turning out any more templates for a while. To be quite honest it takes longer to produce the templates than it does to model anything, and I'm eager to finish this project.

I'll be putting my inner circle membership to good use and be picking up Stompas is bulk tihs month for a friend and I desperately want my Warlord finished to crush his puny Stompas.

Some cool visualizing stuff, as well as good skill with cardstock. What sort of program do you use to design the stuff as shown on page 3? Also, someone else may have metioned this in the mid pages, but technically as there isn't much more than concepts, it doesn't really seem logical to call 1 sort of warlord right and 1 sort of warlord wrong, but that's just my take.

You know, all these titans springing up inspire me.....

I've started sketching plans for a knight titan (the sane scale I think for 40K) and will start a blog myself when I have something to share.

My comments are my own, and mine own alone. If you have any complaints, please report to Mr Spanky who will take them down for you.....

That's excellent !! Please post a link here once your underway. I would like to keep apprised of your progress.

Thanks !

GIMP.

It's a free graphic editing program.

I make all the pieces by hand, scan them, and then photoedit the scans to make them suitable for printing.

I dunno what you are refferencing here. You lost me.

I did start using the image from APOCALYPSE as my inspiration, and then changed my mind, and decided to use the newer EPIC model.
