Wow are those space corridors? Do they make industrial towers?

And so, due to rising costs of maintaining the Golden Throne, the Emperor's finest accountants spoke to the Demigurg. A deal was forged in blood and extensive paperwork for a sub-prime mortgage with a 5/1 ARM on the Imperial Palace. And lo, in the following years the housing market did tumble and the rate skyrocketed leaving the Emperor's coffers bare. A dark time has begun for the Imperium, the tithes can not keep up with the balloon payments and the Imperial Palace and its contents, including the Golden Throne, have fallen into foreclosure. With an impending auction on the horizon mankind holds its breath as it waits to see who will gain possession of the corpse-god and thus, the fate of humanity......

Industrial towers- planetary based, or death star style? How tall? Ruined or complete? How about access? With balconies, stairs, doors at the bottom, all three? Part of a larger building at the base, or freestanding? Large enough for a guard shack or control room, or huge for a planetary defense laser? Let me know what other details or ideas you have...

Towers are a definite possibility, as I can make individual kits that may retail from as little as $15.00, to large kits for $40 to $50.

Space corridors - with wall sections or just floor tiles? General Imperial decoration or plain? For playing 40K in a shipboard setting, or other smaller games, or roleplaying?

Understand that to cover a 4x6 table with space corridors uses a lot of material. Even assuming a 25% empty area to 75% terrain ratio, you're talking about 18 square feet of terrain. Thats about 9 sheets of plywood material from my laser, without wall sections at all. Add wall sections and you are talking about 25 to 30 sheets of material. Retail for this would run approximately $180.00 for floors, and $600.00 for floors and walls. I don't know how many people would be able to afford it and interested in buying it, but I feel very few would.

I wasn't trying to be a jerk, these are legitimate questions. What would you guys like to see? I got a look at the Litko stuff, and I like it, but it sort of underscores my previous comments. Even with relatively cheap plywood, covering a whole board is pricey.

I'm leaning towards stand alone kits that represent larger structures on a 40K battlefield. Similiar in scale to the GW cities of Death kits. Less detailed, but less expensive and faster to put together. The problems I see with scratchbuilding nice looking buildings is getting consistent doors and windows cut out of the walls, decent stairs and other large architectural elements. I make you the basic structure, and you can detail it up to your hearts content. For example, who all would like an orbital defense laser, or the big landing facility featured in the Apocolypse book or White Dwarf? I can design up the buildings out of plywood, and the buyer can add volcanic rocks, radar arrays, the laser cannon, whatever details I can't make in flat plywood.

If more of us valued food and cheer and 40K over hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

I ordered flying tricycle's elevated walkway back when he was offering the 50% discount. Box arrived 2 weeks after I ordered it. However, I haven't gotten around to actually opening the box, what with all the other projects i have been working on :(. I will take a peak tonight.

Well, to offer you at least some constructive critisism, cheap landing platforms or orbital leaser both sound a like a cool idea for terrain.

How about some sort of junk-buildings, like Megaton in Fallout 3?

And I would love to see someone do some industrial towers or space corridors, but that's just daydreaming

OK, so I finally opened my Flying Tricycle Elevated Walkway that I bought...from Flying Tricycle...back in July .

The parts were all there and a few to spare...I know cause it comes with a fancy instruction sheet complete with pictures and words ...if only GW could learn of such .

The platform and supports include additional detail that is etched into the wood, which should make it fairly convenient for drybrushing and/or shading.

The best part is it leaves your hands smelling like smoked brisket...hmmmm....smoked flavor goodness!

They also sell Fortified Lines with Pillboxes but not Space Corridors and Industrial Towers . Nope, you will have to go somewhere else if you want those.

I got my walkway and it stinks! Literally! Smells like it was still smoldering in my mailbox

The kit is very nice though. Should go together well and the plywood is of a very good quality.
