Storm lord assembly done ,

new problem on Stompa....

The instruction manual doesnt show part's numbers.
( but the plastic pieces does )

How does that make sense?

The numbers are probably for manufacturing purposes. But I've never seen numbers in any of my plastics, I always assumed that they were like bad-a$$ legos.

GW never used to put numbers on the parts, but you are probably well aware that firms such as Tamiya or Hasegawa do in order to write a good assembly guide.

It doesn't usually matter on a simple kit.

Fortunately GW have done a guide on their website.

Its an ork Stompa though, isn't the point of it TO look like cr@p?

no, they shouldnt look like crap.
why would you want to buy a model thats allready orky and ruin it with dodgy cutting or fitting?

Please note that the numbers of the parts found on the GW site do NOT correspond with the numbers on the sprues.

Pardon the language -- what the hell numbers does the guide refer to?

</rhetorical>

Probably even GW don't know.

Geez, I make a joke and get blammed for it.

Do you think that most ork vehicles were made by GW sculptors just starting out in the business?

halo, think your jokes through 1st
if your making an ork joke it needs to be of a decent quality

luna, im guessing they were smoking resin at the time.
i found the guide kinda weird aswell, they dont remove mould lines!

Ouch, I may cry.

Well, it looks like luna's good at conversions so she should be able to figure it out, or even improve upon the model. I'm not really offering help as I don't convert too much, but I'm interested in seeing the models when they're done. The stores around me don't carry stormlords or any other titans besides the baneblade kit.

wash with soap water or warm water is enough?

Warm water with soap is usually best with plastic models, as the oil that tends to coat the sprues is not water soluble. Light soap, like dishwashing liquid, is quite sufficient.

Detergent is best rather than soap.

One thing im concerned about is , I know my models arnt water proof lol ><

which means soap or detergent WILL get inside , and there is little to nothing i can do to get it out .

Will the left over detergent thats stuck inside be harmful or hinder primer / paints?

Also i noticed my hands get sweaty when i try to hold the model together while it dries, will that leave residue and
makes primer chip off?

SoCal, USA!

You know, Luna, you can wash sprues or parts before you glue...

But a bit of diluted, dried detergent residual film won't hurt your models in the least.

use the detergent in a weak mix and its fine
make sure its 100% dry though before you glue it.

luna, sweat wont do a thing to it
its fine.

When I build a polystyrene kit I prime some internal parts before or during building.

When it's finished I wash the whole kit in warm water with detergent, and lightly scrub the major surfaces with an old soft toothbrush. Then I rinse it well in lots of warm water. I take off the worst of the wet by shaking and towelling, and leave it to dry thoroughly.

DON"T PUT IT IN A HOT PLACE because it might melt.

Once dry, I spray prime and carry on painting as normal.

oh, 1 quick tip luna: before you put it together, undercoat the gun barrel of the stompa, as its a pain to do once its stuck together.

>.< Actually i'll be honest ... None of the stompa or stormlord were on my *wishlist.

I wanted Lizardman for a loooooooong time . Building anything else doesnt feel fulfilling -_-

It doesnt help that i sit here for 8 hours straight smelling glue, and after im done ni cant help wonder
if other people took this long.

Then i feel like im dumb or something.

Hmmm..... not too enthusiastic ^^;

Also i was sort of planning , if i have a few stegadons, i can remove the bolt throwers and give it to my goblins.

That would be useful right!
