librarian conversion WIP......

Excellent work with the highlighting and glow effects. I'm loving how you turned this from an idea right through to production. Wish I had that kinda willpower, keep it up!

The paint is looking pretty good, but it lacks any dimension. I know it is a current WIP, just remember not t skimp on the dry-brushing and washes. Dry-brush is probably the easiest way to make convincing metal.

Here's my first attempt at truescaling:

There are two avenues to take when true scaling. one, like I did, is to take the actual models and enlarge them a bit. I leave the scouts the size they are, I add 3mm under assault & tacticals feet, 3mm on assualt & tacticals waist, and add 3mm between each arms & the chest on assault & tacticals to widen them, the terminators get 3mm under foot & waist too, but also 6mm added to thigh....This is fast and effective, and on the game table they are larger then other SMs, but not overly larger...

You took the second approach some do, and are converting a terminator model to look like a tactical. This approach will be more difficult to intagrate scouts into the army, and assault, and especially termies. You'll need to almost scratch build a termie to be correct scale next to this guy. It's nice work though.

Ps. Could you make a list of everything you used for it ? Fx : How many grams of GS ? How importand is it too have and knive ? etc etc.

The beauty of this true scale is that it was easy! I bought two sheets of 8.5"x11" cloth like foam sheets that are 2.5mm thick. I super glued this under the feet of all tactical, assualt, and terminators. You will need an xacto knife to trim around the feet. Once these "heightened" feet are glued to the base, the flock will hide the odd shoe "lifts" on the mini. Then I made a small round circle foam peice to be glued into the cavity of the tacticals, termies, and assualt marines torsos. That was superglued in and atached to legs/waist part. So the tacticals and assualt have gained 5mm in height! With the termies, you do need to cut their thighs in half, and add 2 layers (5mm) of the foam. Superglue that too. The superglue is soaked into the foam and the foam becoms rock hard and does not melt when spray painted. On the termies, once the thigh extensions are in place, use green stuff to thicken the thighs and hide the foam. On all minis also add a small round 2.5mm foam between the arm and torso, this widens them to 5mm total! Very little fuss or muss, very little green stuff, Use dremel or file to smooth out!

What is the fluff behind greek spartan are they a lost legion or you just made them up with no fluff in mind(which i think is just fine) I want to know because i am a big fluff nutter.

Why I do say, you're a rather quick worker. It would probably take me somewhere from 2 to 4 years getting around to building an army that size, let alone make it truescale.

You're selling! What a bummer :-/ since these guys look awesome!

But it's good for someone else You'll have to give them tips on your style so that they can enlarge the army a bit (or they could just add vehicles to up it to 2000 or 2250)

I enjoy the challenge of making up unique armies...I do not play often or have time to play...Besides I am liking this new game called Secrets of the Third Reich, AE_WWII, and AT-43 (only because I found a store that is selling each and every box for $10, regardless of original price).......I'll try to get better pics up, but if anyone is interested, amke an offer before I post it on ebay....

The only issues I see with these shots is that the new scale Tactical Marine has exaggerated shoulders and chest which really make the legs look flimsy. Give him lightning claws and he'll look like a monkey.

Using Terminator armor as a basis for an upscaled Tactical Marine keeps the hips and legs more proportional to the chest and shoulders.

Many of these minis have been dynamically reposed. The sgt is grasping a Tau by the throat, another sgt is holding a severed deamon head, and so on. Power weapons are glowing. Every mini has had some conversion. They are painted bronze, with dark red capes, many have spears, some have shields, they are blood splattered, and many more details! Also they have been matte sealed! All heads have been replaced with greek style helmets (from chaos wfb line).

I spent $500+ on the minis, bits, supplies, etc.... I will deal with USA only.

I think you could save yourself some hassel with the shields by picking up some of the 6th edition warhammer empire spearmen, they had round shields that you could use (after removing the lion faces). Try ebay.
