All the others have said it allready, but still... Amazing work!

I love the books and your counts-as ideas have captured the feel very well while being usable in 40k. Excellent!

Bit of threadromancy; but I thought I'd let you know I went out and got Dune and am now halfway through reading it.

Thank you.

I'd love to see an Arrakis-themed terrain board, with shield wall etc.

great job honestly. I remember growing up and reading the DUNE series of books and how much I loved it. Heck Even the SyFy channels version a few years back was fun to watch, but THIS I mean WOW great work honestly.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Glad to hear it! Unfortunately my army runs into lots of issues- currently I was denied access to a campaign with my Fremen as they didn't quite fit the fluff (or the campaign coordinator couldn't make them fit). Either way, it's the price for creativity I suppose.

Best, Klaus.

To bad, with an army like that as coordinator would have found a way for them to fit in. Army is way to cool.

It just means that the coordinator has less imagination and creativity than you have. And then to deny you playing because of his personal shortcomings in the creativity department? Low.

Simple answer: They're locals. Whatever rock is being fought over had a freman/crusade presence already. Done and done.

Just remember that God made Arrakis to train the faithful.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

Very nice stuff, and I am impressed with the Eldar conversions. I have been toying with the idea of a House Atreides IG force for years, and want to use Mordian Iron Guard for the formal, Caladan style house uniforms, Tallern for dessert troops, and Van Saars for the Freman bodyguard of Paul.

Have to say that the Eldar idea is much better than the Van Saar's though.

Perhaps it is the desire for the Caladan troopers that convinced me to go for an IG army, as opposed to a SM theme. It just feels more like the book to me, but I can see how effective your choices have been.

Ultimate kudos for the "Thopter though. Really nice conversion work on that.

As for being excluded from a tourny, I can only suggest that the powers that be were having a bad hair day, or something. Having said that, I had a friend denied entry with his GW Squat army (fielded as IG from a planet with really heavy Gravity ), because...."Squats don't exist", so nothing surprises me anymore.

Quick addition.... the Arabic in my sig line states:

God Created Arrakis to Train the Faithful

I had a good friend translate it for me, just in case I wanted to paint it onto banners, et al. Feel free to incorporate, if it is the kind of thing you go for in your themes.

A present from one fanatic to another!

Great book, great modeling, but I hope you don't want to play in tournaments. You would really be better off using this as a guard army because some of the things you built are way too far from what they're supposed to be for tourny play.

Never the less, neat idea and really good execution. It makes me wish there was a Dune based wargame.
