My order of both trays arrived yesterday. I too was dissapointed that even after packing, re-packing, and re-packing again, all the components wouldn't fit snugly in the box, and stil allow the lid to close. I'm very happy with the mini tray though. I will say that the picture of a packed box is a blurry black and white photocopy...I couldn't see a thing! If I had to do it al over again, I'd just order the troop tray.

I'll definitely be getting the mini tray and may, after getting a packing tutorial from Romeo, order the bottom tray also.

I'll be happy to give my business to a company that listens to customers, potential customers and even detractors.

Romeo, let's get that video, eh? I'm certainly on the fence, still, and I'd like to see before I decide.

Why do I have a feeling this entire exchange has been about that 1/4 inch of excess mentioned in the video?

Seems like a petty concern. Good product.

I'm getting the model tray but not the "cardboard trey, this is because in order for it to fit... you can't put the counters in the little baggies provided... this is no bueno!

meh, rubberbands will work fine for most of it and some of them can go in the box in the baggies.

Posted the links to the product on our local board (where pretty much everyone bought a copy of SH). I think I'm going to try and organize a large purchase.

Totally agree on the postage issues,
Not Romeo's fault.

I suppose that I mention it because I feel bad for not buying such an awesome product!!

I also have no idea why all the Aussie flags have become US flags (I am a US citizen, but live in the great southland but that is not here nor there really).

So...
There is no sea freight anymore out of the US? That really messes my plans for shipping!!

I've sold a decent amount of stuff to Europeans on eBay, and I'd like to confirm, for fairness' sake, that there is absolutely nothing, zilch, zero, that Romeo can do about his shipping rates if he wants stuff to get to you reasonably quickly.

This isn't brain surgery. Get a cardboard box, put some stuff in it, weigh it, and take the measurements.

Then go here:

http://www.usps.com/

"Calcultate International Postage," middle choice of three towards the bottom. Take a look for yourself. The rates are the rates. $26.50 for a 1 lb. package from here to Great Britain or Ireland.

Expensive? Yes. Unavoidable? Yes.

In terms of the bottom piece of foam, I wouldn't go for that personally, as I'm not too worried about protecting the counters or the pieces. They're pretty sturdy, and I would probably just toss my Space Hulk models unpainted into other foam that's not fitted for SH but who cares, they're not painted.

I would be curious to know whether or not if you eschewed the bottom foam tray, just put your counters and stuff in the box, would you be able to fit the top tray with the models on top of the rest of it and still get the box closed?

I got mine last week (top & bottom foam), and I must say I am very satisfied with the product.

I put everything together in the bottom half long before the video was published and had no problems (even with all my bits in baggies). All told, the foam sticks out 1/2"-1" over the top of the box(and I could likely eliminate that if I followed the video's advice for placement instead of eyeballing it). This bit of overhang is not at all an issue for me, as the lid still fits snugly (and especially considering that when GW shipped it, some of my board sections were damage because of how tightly the game was packed in!)

My only issue was, as another poster mentioned, some of the glue on the bottom section ran over a bit into the storage area, but a thin strip of fabric solved that problem.

Overall, a solid product that I am confident will protect my game for years to come. This was the first product I've purchased from Battlefoam and it's unlikely to be the last. Thank you, Romeo!

Hey Romeo -

Just wanted to say that I never did end up ordering a custom layout from you (we've chatted on the forums in the past) - instead I found a local distributor! Happy to say that Connection Games in Vancouver BC carries your product (although they do typically have to take orders rather than have on hand).

Managed to cram all of my Skorne models into 2x 2" and one 3" tray and still have lots of space for new models.

Been using the case since beginning of August with no issues.

Thanks.

Well, I just got mine today. Overall I'm satisfied, though the cardboard pieces will only go in the bottom tray in a very specific way. I wasn't too bothered by the lid not closing all the way (only about a quarter of an inch), but there's a single genestealer claw sticking up out of the top tray just a little bit (the one that's running down a curved wall section), and I don't feel comfortable resting the top of the box on top of said tray since I might snap his arm off if I'm not careful.

I'll have to watch Romeo's video again to figure out how to place everything in there, though I was kinda hoping I could still use the baggies but it's not looking like I can. There's always rubber bands though.

Anyway, if all you want is the top tray then I'd say it's definitely worth a buy. I imagine it'd fit in the box just fine if you don't care about the cardboard sections and just have them all strewn about in the bottom, which is probably likely since I've seen a lot of people comment about how a protective foam tray for cardboard is silly (I don't really think so since it's $100 cardboard, but that's just me).

Just a comment. I just called Battlefoam about my order and a few things, sounds like they have gotten a TON of orders (good for them). Their customer service (the person who handled my call- I forget her name) was great!

I just thought you should know that they seem to be a good company to work with...
