Bad for the hobby? What? Are fan made codices, converted armies or home brewed fluff bad for the hobby? No. Neither is this FAQ, and for the same reason.
Stelek disappeared inside his own arse. He had some interesting stuff to say, but the amount of self agrandising idiocy he came out with often made it hard to take in.
Also, INAT FAQ is the FAQ for adepticon. The lads that made it were dead happy with all their work, and suggested that it might be cool to use it for other tournies. How is that some sort of horrible thing?
Arrrgh. I've had a long week, and what seems like an even longer day. I try to avoid posting on Dakka when I'm irritable but seriously, people need to relax a bit. (Me, most of all, apparently. I'm going to open another bottle of ale and go look at pretty pictures in modelling and painting.)
Automatically Appended Next Post: OK, so someone won the thread, now it's time to lock it.
There's been enough technical Dakka rule violations even though it hasn't yet spiralled into a hopeless flame fest. Let's get out while the getting is good.
I'll take advantage of my position to make a few points.
1.
FAQ is commonly used slang for a list of corrections and clarifications.
2. Anyone can make one and no-one is compelled to use it.
3.
GW's own
FAQs are unofficial, as they have said they should be regarded as house rules rather than official documents.
4.
GW themselves published an
FAQ for Space Hulk within about three weeks of its release, and it was filled with answers to the most dimwitted queries ever, all of which are clearly explained in the rulebook.
5. Be that as it may, if a lot of players (no-one on Dakka, I'm sure) are so slow or semi-literate they can't understand as simple and well explained set of rules as Space Hulk, nothing you or I ever do will change that.
Time to start that Pan
Fo army...
Out after lock!
