By "wash" we mean a bath or shower right? Because I wash face and brush teeth at least twice a day, and wash my hands loads of times because I work in a lab. In fact I have to use moisturising cream because constantly washing my hands dries the skin.

Normaly once or twice a day ,but more in the summer.

I got as a basic guideline once each second day..though if I'm just sitting at home doing nothing, painting or such I sometimes wait a few more days unless I got plans.(*sigh* I need a more timefilling social life).

I try to take a shower at least every other day, but I almost never do anything that makes me sweat or so, and I just moved to a new town where I don't really know anyone so it's not a lot of social interaction. Three times a week is probably more realistic.

Daily, I shave when I shower and my stubble drives me bonkers, so for sanitys sake I shower daily

I'm generally not a sweaty or smelly person, so I can shower every other day with no problem. However, if I do enough physical work to build up a sweat then I will shower shortly thereafter.

Not only to wake me up,but I would seriously FEEL the dirt eating me all day,I can't work when I'm not clean.

Living in a country where it's about 30 degrees celsius all year round, pretty much makes it compulsory to shower at least twice a day.

on a serious note, twice a day. An ork choppa (preferably not the chainsaw one) provides a good way to get to those hard to reach places beneath your toenails. ironicly i am writing this from in the shower, although that might be a terrible lie.

How often do I wash? Well, that depends on how much I get to paint that day and how far along I am on it. Usually basecoats take so long I feel like washing a couple of times for good shading is too fast. If you count glazing too that increases the frequency, especially when I paint paler or lighter colors.

I shower once a day typically. If I don't have a shower in the morning I never feel right all day!

I SHOWER daily, with soap and all that stuff...

In the evening I usually just rinse off before bed to clean off what little grime I collected during the day...

Im kind of in the other category because I dont wash my hair everyday, as its about a 10 minute process cause its long and very very curly.


Course im getting a new job in the hospital setting, so it will probably jump to twice a day with soap and washing my hair every evening after work...

Other; it really depends on my mental state. Suffering from the depression I do means that i'll be fine for a few days and i'll probably shower once on each day or once every other day, but if I hit a low spot then I usually won't be in any mood to do anything except lie in my bed and sleep, and that can lead to me not washing for a few days at a time.

Minimum = 1.

If I'm exercising or [BALETED] as well that day, then add 1 or 2.

Sadly, most days are 1... :-)

you might want to finish reading what you posted before you make such strong statements this is taken from the *how stuff works* article

The chemistry of each person's skin is different, so showering ever day may not be as damaging to some people as it would be to others. Still, you might want to skip a shower every once in a while. You can also protect your skin by using soft soaps with warm instead of hot water. To top it off, apply a moisturizer after each shower. We all love feeling clean, but we also have to strike a balance between clean skin and healthy skin.

I do agree very much that not everyone needs to shower every day.... But certainly not showering for several days nauseates me even thinking about it

I did read it: "showering ever day may not be as damaging to some people as it would be to others" implies it is damaging to everyone -- just more to some than to others. And, well, as has been pointed out, showering doesn't necessarily *get* you clean, in any meaningful way -- it just makes you *feel* clean.

It's a huge waste of water or energy to shower every day, let alone 2-3 times a day. All for the sake of one's *feelings*? WTF? No wonder the planet is off to hell in a handbasket. :(

I live in Australia, so water can be quite rare 'round here.
So I only wash when it rains...which is alo quite rare considering that it's Australia and we have more droughts then rain.

I'm in the habit of showering after I go on my runs. I run 5 days a week so the other two days I don't.

Also by that logic if I didn't run I would never shower.... I'd consequently build Nurgle based CSM army.

Because I have a sweaty, physical job it's twice a day. One shower in the morning and one at night.....more in the summer.
