Are you going to use the new Death Company(advance order) for the troops, or just for elites. Maybe you could use the sanguinary guard as pretty marines, due to that in quite a bit of the art ive seen has Angry Marines slaughtering their pretty bretheren. As a matter o fact, it would be funny if that any minis are shown executing somebody, they could be pretty marines so you don't have to worry about fighting different armies. For your bikers they could be shown with dead pretty marines chained to the back of the bike, being dragged across the battle field.

I saw some of the ba codex the other day so I'm thinking they would make excellent Angry marines esp. with the Red Thirst rule and characters like Mephiston and Seth.

Thats whats great about them, how the hell would a REAL adamantium sack even function? No one knows, I guess they are so pissed off, that the sack just works like a sack, because it doesnt want an Angry Marine to form it into a face, so he can then punch it in the face.

Either way, the yellow looks a bit darker then Im used to but overall Im digging your army. These guys are great

You should paint DILLIGAF on the Dread.

It's turning out well, save for the paintjob. You are using primer right? A lot of the figures just look like they have -really- thick paint. Maybe thin your paints a wee bit and wait longer between each coat?

Otherwise, I like how this is turning out. Can I request an Angry Marine punching his arm down an Ork's throat? Or kicking something so hard in the arse that his foot got stuck?

No nastiness meant, your topic was just convenient. I much prefer the way your army is turning out over mine! In fact, as I'm going back through my troops and fixing things I'm tempted to re-do my chapter insignia like you have done it.

Speaking of troops, here are all of mine currently getting re-based (minus seargants, minus squad formations, and minus two models that are in pieces):



EDIT: Oh, and I've been having a go at doing the marine using an Imperial Guardsman as a CCW. I have found that the pilot that came in the Battle for Macragge box (Lt Varrus?) has his legs posed near perfectly for this. Some hacksawing and greenstuffing of his hands later, and we have this. I have done a false-coloured comparison next to it to help you pick out the details.

Huh. I just realized you weren't the OP.

You should start your own thread. If the OP resumes his thread again, great. But don't jack his thread with your own stuff. That doesn't make you look very good.

That said, a few tips on your painting - thin em' down, wait longer between coats so they can dry more thoroughly, and use less paint overall. Your scheme is solid, but it's also thick and obscuring huge amounts of detail. I would suggest you pick up some DOT3 Brake Fluid (Make sure that's what you grab, other stuff will melt the minis!) or Simple Green, strip em, and try again.

What are you talking about, Metallifan? The OP didn't contribute anything at all to his own thread except to cheerlead for the Angry Marines. At least Mr. Pendulum is providing a reason for this thread to be in the modelling forum.

I'm going to assume you didn't read page one. Posts 1 and 28. Not much, but it still makes it a P&M thread.

Considering that the Angry Marines are such a fringe army, the one thread is the most logical instead of separate threads.

As I said, the troops are old models. The bulk of them are Battle of Macragge models in fact. They are on my painting table for updating, but as I run a mechanised force not much will happen in this area.

I have been away for awhile working on midterms, and someone hijacks me thread?! RAEG!!!

but seriously, I have been chipping away at my army progress, and I guess I should start taking higher-quality detail pics of my stuff, just to one-up the stuff MrPendulum is posting.
Also, MrPendulum's pic of an imp. guard-wielding Angry Marine is motivating me to make my own version of that! EXPECT SOMETHING WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK.

Also I appreciate all the ideas you guys keep generating! I am liking the idea of dragging a Pretty Marine behind a bike. I'll have to hold off on more modeling projects until after I get the Blood Angels codex though.

oh, and as a critique for Mr. Pendulum, your colors do look very thick, and your yellow looks muddier then what mine looks like in the lighting I photographed in. I suggest going back and fixing these up. I suggest using a color like Iyanden Darksun as the base, and drybrush a bright yellow over that. and for the red I used Mechrite red with a drybrush of a bright red over that. And I agree thinning your paints helps ALOT. And finally, I think you need to redo their emblems. it takes a bit of time and practice to paint the emblem, but they just don't have the angry marine feel without this emblem:
