My only criticism is it looks to low down. If you make the tervie's legs longer, it might look better.

That above is about the only criticism I can think of for this otherwise 'fully sick' model!

Those egg sacks are just screaming for a bigger model... I'd love to see a few dozen hanging from a giant beasty.

@ironfrontalex - Cheers man

@alpharius - Thanks a lot

@burb1996 - "daaang thats coool" is good enough for me!

@Munch munch - Thanks

@Munch munch - Thanks again

@tim the biovore & boss 'eadbreaker - I'm with you on this one, my initial idea had them dangling between 1-2 cm off the ground under the belly but the sacs ended up being far larger than I thought they would be. Looking back I should have made a master for the eggsacs before I moulded the carapce so that I had the scale right but hey thats the fun of scratchbuilds!

@ Drake_marcus - Happily I will have all the moulds for the eggsacs left over after this project and if I ever have the urge to build a Bio-Titan than a few will definitely be added to it.

Cheers

Yeah, all you have to do is cut the legs off at the 'elbow', and GS it bigger.

Wow! That looks really (2x) cool. I still don't like the legs but apart from that that's a very impressive conversion and I'm already looking forward to your Biotitan.

For starters; Eggsacks: GREAT! it's all insectoid and tyranid-like, so both thumbs up for that..

Second: Spider-fex body.. I mean, c'mon! here you have an awesome model, and you stick to -pardon me- lame conversion as a trice-damned spider-fex body? No offence, but I had expected something better then the usual "everybody's doing the spider-fex" approach..

All in all, it's a great conversion, but just the fact that you used a spider-fex body is akin to a thorn in my eye.. I'm sorry, but that's just my honest oppinion..

The egg sacs look incredible - without a doubt, the best tyranid conversion of any kind that I've seen to date. Such an original approach too!

Thanks so much for the resin mould tutorial - I've been looking for one for ages, and yours is clear and simple. Can't wait to see the finished product!

That is quite possibly the best tyranid conversion I have ever seen, congrats sir on a fantastic piece.

@tim the bivore - I'll think about extending the legs but to be honest I'm rapidly reaching my the end of my interest with this project, I have 20 or so grey knight marines to get painted up!

@ricekake67 - I really don't know what to say...thank you ... I think? I would explain that human babies don't come in eggsacs but I don't think this is really the right place to discuss things like that

@Anung - Damn one miniscule mention of a Bio-titan and I'm locked in to another months long 'nid project!! thanks man (2x)

@FerrumIgnatus - First off thanks for commenting glad you like the eggs they were a lot of work. Second , the legs have been a real bone of contention among the readers of this blog. To be honest I didn't realise that a lot of other people had done the spider-tervi and even if I had I would still have had to go this route as they were the only spare parts I had. Couldn't really afford a new fex kit on top of the cost of the resins.

@scarper - Thanks man, glad you like the tutorial on the resin it's really fun to work with and it's quite amazing how much your imagination goes into high gear when you are no longer constricted to what the GW produces.

@zhetssuken - Hey thanks a lot , just wait till it's painted up!

Cheers

*pops head out of no where* What did i miss?

Nice work Black hand, and agree about making the legs longer. Good luck

A quick suggestion: I know this would be difficult but, why don't you try and make it look like one of the eggsacks have dropped of the fex and have the tyranid inside set in a pose of ripping himself out of it? (now if you excuse me im going to take my pills before i bite someone's finger off )

Ok so it may look like I have been slacking off...if by slacking off you mean stocktaking while looking for a new house to live in while helping your fiance find a job while getting sidetracked with stormtrooper conversions..then yes I have been slacking off

In between the distractions I glued on the last two eggsacs, added a gaunt to the tervi base and filled in the spaces between the sacs with a mix of clear resin and dark angels green and goblin green to represent tyranid amniotic fluid. I had some left over so I poured it onto the base to fill the hollow I built into it, want it to look like a a gross pool of goo that the gaunt is rising out of. I was pretty worried immediately after mixing the paint into the resin as I had no idea if the acrylic paint would stop the resin curing or not, happily ift had no effect and it all dried perfectly. No for the part you are all waiting for, the pics!

And a couple of pics with the Tervi over it, not yet attached.

So to finish up I need to finish is scratchbuild some more vents and paint him up and he's done.

C&C welcome as always

Cheers

Ah, bad puns...
But as always, it's looking excellent! Maybe you should make another egg sack, rip it up and set it on the ground so people aren't questioning why a termagant magically appeared with no evidence of it's birth.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Oh and p.s....That turned out wickedly amazing, the way you clustered the eggs is unique and I retract my comment about the legs, normally people just dont seem to pull off the look of a birthing beast without the vestigial birthing arms to kind of reinforce the look of the role, but you have done so without need of them.

Hats off sir! from me and my termagant filled scrotum LOL

The puddle looks nice, though mixing resin with color would probably be too much work for me when doing bases.

That's a great model you build there. I'm looking forward to your next project.
