the other day i had a tyrant with 1 wound left charge into my unit of battle psykers that just got shot out of their chimera...
the tyrant killed 4 of the 6 remaining little crazies...
the 2 left made their 4 attacks... hitting with 3 (miraculously, needing 5's to hit), and somehow wounding with 2 (needing 6's)...
on the two saves, i saw that fateful one...
needless to say, those 2 psykers have a special place in my heart now <3

ive a couple...both from the same game. my whfb chaos giant in a smaller game....moves up flank. beasty men archers ambush and proceed to oput 3 wounds on him via shooting.... he then gets charged my gorebulsl and dies to impact hits before he do anything except whimper....bye bye 265 pts : ( 2 turns later my khornate jugger lord decides to go rampaging off after the enemy (this is after his retinue of khorne knights dies) in any case he charges the unit of ungors, issues his challenge to the gorebull leading them, proceeds to roll 1's and 2;s on his 5 attacks, at which point the gorebull does the same....but i lost the combat due to outnumbering and banners....rolled boxcards on his LD check, then rolled tripple 1's on my escape, promply getting mowed down. khorne was NOT happy. then a few weeks back, i was playing mordhiem. had just hired an elf ranger. in his first game i deploy him at the top of a building to gain nice LOS. my opponent cunningly deploys behind buildings so i cant see. after 2 turns of mr elf ranger doing jack all, he decides to climb down and reposistion... first climb check = FAIL, falls, takes 2 hits, wich of course wound, taking out of action. he then rolls a 1 on his injury. at least i didnt have to pay his upkeep...

I have a reputation, Modile, a reputation as a fair, honest man who treats his soldiers well and supports them in the face of darkness. Potentially, that reputation makes me soft. It seems I understand failure and forgive it. Some, like Kowle, believe me to be a weak commissar, not prepared to take the action my rank demands. Not prepared to enforce field discipline where I see it failing. I am an Imperial commissar. I will enflame the weak, support the wavering, guide the lost. I will be all things to all men who need me. But I will also punish without hesitation the weak, the incompetent, and the treasonous.
I am a Commissar. I am empowered to deliver justice wherever I see it lacking. I am empowered to punish cowardice. I am granted the gift of total authority to judge, in the name of the Emperor, on the field of combat.

Probably my 7 man Nob Squad 1st failing to do anything to a single Dark Angel terminator, then losing one Nob to said terminator, then... LOL... failing the leadership to stick around (and again from the bosspole),then just to rub it in where it hurts.... having the terminator successfully perform a sweeping advance on the remaining 6 Nobz... wiping them from the game!
Worst time for my Nobz ever!

I just mentioned this one in another thread but its pretty epic in reguards of youve got to be kidding me.
I had a warboss on a bike charge a LR (Forgetting about the 6 inch move means rolling 6s to hit) I paniced because I knew the whole army was going to shoot him to death. The Librarian popped out and shot, saved, LR redeemer shot all that could hit me, saved everything, a full tactical squad unloaded, saved, a devastator squad same thing, saved all that was left was a razor back with H bolter/storm bolter. I laughed because I just new at least one of those would fail. The Hbolter fired, misses and rerolls hits, and the storm bolter hits both. I failed all three of those saves and died.
EPIC

Oh my god I dont think Id even mention that.
I had another incredibly funny one happen in 4th. Back then you had a SMALL chance of blowing up a vehicle on a glance. So I was Chaos, opponent was SM. It just happened that both our dreds had not only been on the same side of the table, but just finished making squishy things die. So I charged my dred into his dred. They pummeled one another, with me on the short en d of the stick. I was immobilized and had no CC weapon, and only a bolter left on the thing. So he, gloating, turned his back to me and marched on to kill more stuff. So I have just a strong enough weapon to get a glance on his rear armor. Scored a glance, and rolled a damn 6.
I blew that friggin thing up with an immobilized dred that only had a bolter left. It was hilarious, we seriously cried laughing for a good 6 minutes.

^ LOLZ But anyways, you want epic? Try this. The MK2 version of one of my old captain models (this being the first time this rendering of him was fielded) was eventually down to one wound with his command squad dead. He had several squads shooting at him. Remember now, he was on ONE wound. UNO. SINGLE. NON PLURAL (you get the idea). He then made 17 consecutive 3+ armour saves. On the 18th, which might have just been a random dice that wasn't even part of the firing (although we counted it as it was) and yeppers, he failed it. But he scared the hell out of my opponant (everything in the SM army does that to necrons. It was APOC and I wiped everything in his army out save an untouched nightbringer. I won 2 obj. to none).

Well, I have several stories.
-The worst death on my side was a game of 3rd edition, I had Cypher and his squad charge a squad of guardsmen, lost the assault, morale check failed and they ran, only to be overran by the enemy catching up. WHAM! Cypher with no wounds on him and 7 CSMs died just like that.
-I had some Raptors attack my ratlings that were on top of a building. The Ratlings won the assault and killed every member of the Raptor squad down to the last man.
-A Bloodthirster decided to go squad hopping, wiping out every squad he assaulted of course. My mortar team fired lasguns into him because he couldn't quite make it into assault with them. They killed him with the mighty lasgun.
-A seer council decided to to assault some sentinels of mine, 2 sentinels exploded out of the squad. Seer council was killed by the detonation of 2 sentinels.

I was playing guard vs. SM and they had Calgar in a 5 man termie squad. I had a 20-man IG infrantry squad w/ 16 lasguns, 2 LP and 2 GL. Used FRFSRF on Calgar's squad, killed 2 termies and Calgar took...wait for it.....3 wounds. Next turn Calgar failed a dt test and 16 of the said guardsmen died from a trio of whirlwinds. Next turn, the four guardsmen charged at the termies, killing all three termies and Calgar. Those guardsmen got a promotion. Nuther time, I had Yarrick running up a hill. Got shot by a mob of 30 shoota boys and survives. Next turn, trips over and hits his head on a rock. Dies. A single guard sarge charges a trygon on two wounds. Kills it instantly, then fends of 30 gaunts with just 3 guardsmen helping him, all of whom died. Now he's my platoon commander. Somehow he always fails saves if hes wearin carapace armour but in flak hes lucky. But my favourite time, some vets chuck a demo at an obliterator squad, it bounces of a rock and lands on a valkyrie carrying another squad of demo vets. The demo blows up the valk, blows up that squads demo (sometimes I play using a rule where if the carrier of a OSO explosive is killed role a d6, on 3+ that blows up using normal weapons stats, VERY annoying if a deathstrike is blown up) kills 160 points worth of vets and downs a valk. The valks blast kills 6 guardsmen from a nearby squad. 310 points down in an instant. Ouch.

This isnt an unheroic death, but I think its pretty appropriate.
We were playing a game where my brother was a meked up SM army, lead by a LR with some assault terminators in it. We made the terrain pretty tight to look like a ruined city. Well the fastest way to my Orks was threw a small pile of difficult terrain.....basically we ran out of things to use so we put a skull there and said it was this wide by this wide.
His LR proceeds to run over the tiny little skull and fails his difficult terrain test. So this GIGANTIC LR with an army stuck behind it....was immobilized blocking the only short cut. It was full of failure and damn funny to see it sitting on a skull and be "stuck"

About 6 months ago I started a thread titled, "What was your most satisfying kill?" I pulled two of my posts from that thread as there seems to be a strong correlation between a satisfying kill to one player and an embarrassing death to the other. Grunt13 wrote: What was your most satisfying kill? For me the best thing about facing Tau is killing the ethereal. There was one Tau player I gamed against where we had this running gag about how he would have to summit a request form to Tau’va for another ethereal after his died; this would require his commander to explain the fate of the previous Ethereal. I would actually tactically disadvantage myself to take these guys out. I kept making the joke that eventually they were just going to cut him off and stop sending Ethereals to their deaths. I have killed Ethereals using the following means: Barbequed by fire dragons. Picked to the bone by scarabs Crunched into a ball by a wraithlord Hooked on slave snares Eaten by zombies Cut down by a lascannon Mind warred by a farseer Afterwards we would create the mock dialog between the commander and the Ethereal Supply Center: Commander: “Yeah, I need another Ethereal” Center: “What!?! What we just sent one to you, what happened to him?” Commander: (Sheepishly) “ Um, he was swarmed by metal insects and reduced to a skeleton” Or “We were fighting the eldar and his head just exploded” Or “Well a skimmer flew by and it had these chains that caught him, and well they just flew away with him” Or “Zombies, the less you know the better” But the all time best was when I was playing my EC and I turned his Ethereal into a spawn. My opponent argued that since his ethereal wasn’t actually killed, but transformed his units should not suffer their moral break tests. I agreed with this, proclaiming that it was fine with me that they would take the tests after I forced them to beat their ethereal to death. I made sure he ate a bunch of them first. The dialog was along the lines of: Commander: “Yeah, this might come as a shock but I need another Ethereal” Center: “Awe hell no, no way am I sending you another ethereal. What are you doing over there; you know you are expected to protect these guys right? I have to look them in the eyes when I transfer them over to you, what happened? Commander: “We were fighting these pink and purple space marines and a large four-arm creature burst from one of them and pointed at the ethereal. The blessed one transformed into a hideous screeching beast thing and proceeded to kill and eat his bodyguards – the firewarriors had to beat him to death with their pulse rifles, trust me it was a mercy killing” Center: (Weeping) The next game I had against the tau player I was disappointed to see that he didn’t field an Ethereal. When I question the absence he shrugged his shoulders and said the center finally cut him off, they refused to send any more ethereals to their inevitably deaths - the chaos spawn was the straw that broke the camels back. " Spawning an etheral and then forcing his own army to beat the tau leader to death was a great moment for me, but defiantly falls under an unheroic death on my opponents part. The fall inflicted a strength hit equal to the distance fallen in inches, so a fall from the third story inflicted a strength 9 hit. The model my guy lands on has a 4+ chance of getting crushed along with him. I found myself confronted by space marines and genestealers, I didn’t play 40K at this time, but knew enough about them to know that I should be intimidated about fighting them with my poorly armed and trained sewer people. I get picked up into a game with 3 guys I didn’t know. I was “partnered” with a standard gang and one of our opponents played 3 space marines and the other 3 genestealers. Necromunda allowed for 2nd edition 40K to be incorporated into the game, all you had to do is multiply the price of the 40K unit by ten to get the necromunda price. A lot of people would refuse to play against such things as space marines, genestealers, or spyrers because they were viewed as gang killers and the opponent didn’t take the same risk of losing beloved characters to the battle– results in a game carried through and your guys could get injured or killed, so the game was a little more serious than typical wargames. The three genestealers rushed towards me covering an insane distance and scavies where generally poor at shooting. My scaly Phobos who bravely position himself in a vanguard position threw a tox bomb at two of the genestealers – the guy then states that the genestealers are immune to the weapon (tox bombs hurt models with respirators in the necromunda, its more of an acid attack then a gas, but I didn’t challenge). They then take out Phobos and proceed towards my gang. My combined gunfire down one out of the duo and Ringworm (all my scavies where named after diseases) bravely stands on ground level plugging ineffectual shots at the advancing tyranid – he played the role of bait. My ace in the hole was a zombie standing on the top floor of a building above the genestealer who was right under the building edge. I surprise the three guys I was playing against by marching the ghoul off the building in an attempt to body slam the tyranid. The genestealer player defiantly didn’t see this coming and started arguing about my ability to do such a thing. I told him it was clearly in the rulebook and he took the hit on a 4+. He didn’t like this and stated that it was obliviously an initiative test. I told the group this wasn’t my first zombie drop and I was sure it was based on a 4+, the other player was just as sure it was based on initiative. I spent like 5 minutes flipping through my rulebook but I could not find the rule (this always happens to me in disputes). Well the two other guys rule with their friend and the genestealer player takes his initiative test and rolls a 6. The model is wounded and goes down, then my opponent starts saying that he actually passes because the genestealer had an initiative of 7. I was however, able to find the rule that a roll of a 6 always fails and the bug stays down. The guy looked like he was going to have a hissy fit, but was just able to contain himself. The genestealer was now downed. A downed model has a chance of recovering, but is automatically removed if an enemy model moves into contact with it. Ringworm runs up to it and takes it out of action leaving one genestealer for my army to contend with. My opponent looks like he is coming apart at the seams but is just able to hold himself together. Because I am a bit a dramatic person in these situations and I enjoy provoking people I act out the scene using a slurring, mutant, inbred ghoul voice, “Thiisss is for Phooo - bos, Bang, Bang, Bang” while making the gun gesture towards the floor. It took the rest of my gang dog piling the bug to pull down the last genestealer (about 12 models including zombies); I only lost a few zombies to it. The space marine player blasted the other player to bits (think turkey shoot) and then turns his guns towards me. My remaining scaly had a spear gun, which is my all time favorite weapon. It was basically a bolt thrower which inflicts a strength 6 hit and would carry a model D6 inches backwards with the possibility of taking more damage if the model hits a wall or better yet gets taken off an elevated position. The marine player argues that his huge marine would not be carried by the spear - I responded that my ogryn sized scalies don’t have spear immunity nor should his guys – my logical was impeccable and the group conceded the point. The huge, power-armored, super human takes the bolt to the chest and gets flung off his perch. So, I take out one of the marines by impaling him and dropping him from a three-story height and then hide the rest of my army behind cover. The marine player taunts me and tries to provoke me to charging across no-man land to his two man gun line, I decline, but invite him to come to me. The game is called and my army wanders away leaving the two space marines in their building. Well my sewer boys take out 3 genestealers and a space marine, which in the Necromunda setting was pretty major. Phobos lucked out and rolled impressive scars instead of getting crippled or killed. Having genestealers and space marines die at the hands of my degenerate mutants was pretty embarrassing to the my opponents especially considering that I was a newbie at the time with less then a dozen games under my belt, and the manner in which they ganged up on me with their super monsters/soldiers. Having a genestealer get taken out by my belly-flopping zombie from three stories up is still one of my fondest gamer memories.
