Is the necro called "Gunthar Larenscheld" or something like that, I have no idea what happened to my Warhammer Quest stuff but I have really fond memories of the game, might download the rules if I can find a pdf, do I get a cookie now

I really like the new necro, might buy him even though I dont have a necro on foot in my VC army list but then there is always room for expansion.........

Could the Black Coach possibly get a plastic kit?

The GW website has it as "no longer available", but I vaguely remember reading in some thread that there was a special reason for that. Don't remember what exactly that reason was though. Does anyone know?

Small update:
August Vampire monster has rider.

From the published spreadsheet (see SoM thread):

Vampire Counts Necromancer 13.25 $
Guess some rereleases, not sure if Finecast or metal (spreadsheet speaks of blisters, not clampacks)
Vampire Counts Necromancer on Nightmare 15.00 $ (does that make sense???)
Vampire Counts Necromancer with Skull 13.25 $
Vampire Counts Necromancer with Staff 13.25 $

Vampire Counts Necromancer on Nightmare 15.00 $ (does that make sense???)

Turns out Nightmare is the name of a drug Vampires use that pitches them into a deep psychic fit. It reduces their melee abilities, but allows them to manifest powerful "skull bolts" that cause 2d6 S5 hits to a target unit and Terror. The vampire can drop up to 3 tabs of Nightmare for multiple attacks a turn, but if they roll doubles on the number of hits they suffer a Miscast for a d6+1 on the chart.

So yea, sounds about right.

Careful, BoLS will repost this with a headline about the new Necromancer and his psycho-drugs and the internet will be aflame.

Where do you think I got the info? Guess it would have been good form to supply a link, you are right.

Since the rumour said that it was in a dual pack with the Abyssal Terror or Zombie dragon, there was always going to be a rider in there. Haven't seen anything saying wether the brand new monster is a mount though.

Kroothawk wrote:Vampire Counts Necromancer on Nightmare 15.00 $ (does that make sense???)

Haven't read the Necromancer entry for a while, but can Necromancers take mounts that aren't Corpse Carts? A Nightmare is basically a horse, so it's a horse mounted Necromancer.

Nightmare used to be the normal skeleton steed.

"winged" nightmare is that monstrous mount

Ya GW is weird like that xD

But Skeletal Steeds are still in the VC army book, and Winged Nightmares aren't.

Nightmares are basically 'some form of horse sized undead mount that isn't a skeletal steed'. Winged Nightmares became Abyssal Terrors, which are 'some form of large, winged undead mount that isn't a zombie dragon'.

In German, the winged Nightmare is the only Nightmare and still called that (not Abyssal Terror), that's why I was confused seeing the price of 15$.

Well yeah, the old model is still called a winged nightmare everywhere.

Since necromancers cann't ride anything besides a regular nightmare or a corpse cart, it makes me think that listing is an error, and it's a finecast rerelease of the blood dragon vampire on winged nightmare, and nothing to do with the new models.

Still perfectly available as an option in the book, and $15 is price it is right now. All three of those are just rereleases of the old blisters. No reason for anyone to be confused.

Anyway, nobody knows why the Black Coach is "no longer available"?

Ah, that's where the confusion came from. I thought the list said Necromander on Winged Nightmare.

It appears that the VC stuff on that release schedule is all old stuff, probably being redone in Finecast.

The Black Coach... maybe it too is gettin ghe Finecast treatment? I certainly wouldn't mind. It could also be getting a new kit in the second wave. Certainly possible, the rumours have been very vague.

Is this really even considered a second wave? Any actual new kits that fill a hole in the army book?

When people talk about the second wave, they mean August, with the new monster and hopefully something else, maybe Black knights. There will also be a special Vampire terrain piece, "The garden of Morr" (=graveyard).

One of the guys at Warseer who was doing the bulk of the rumouring said it wouldn't be one big second wave, but there are multiple kits. So while the new monster, plus whatever else the kit makes, is coming in August, it's not the only release. Sounds like it's a few smaller splash releases over a few months, starting with July and the Necromancer.

How is this even a second wave? I've only seen the one monster kit, and terrain piece confirmed and those are really just the continuation of SOM. Have Black Knights even be rumored at all? I sounds like a lot of wishful thinking really.

I haven't seen the release list for August or the rest of the year, so if you have, tell us please.

In warseer it has been brought up that the souce of that piece of news was just confused with the August monster releases ( Necromancer and such )
