Heard in April that the most expensive unit in WHFB per model.... BLOOD KNIGHTS! are to be in the second wave as plastic.

I was unsure of that when they were released in resin, but my source was sure of the change.

Could it be that it's not the Blood Knights being released in plastic...but the Black Knights?

The current Black knights certainly do need a redo.
But the cost of Blood Knights at $34.50US EACH in Australia means that most people are buying Mantic stand ins.
They had a great win with the Dragon princes, they could do the same with Blood Knights.

Not just an Aussie phenomenon. The Blood Knights are some of the stupidest priced models in GW's line-up.

They're gorgeous sculpts certainly...but not that gorgeous.

I'm really wondering why they'd put Blood Knights in plastic if this is the case, but not redo the Black Knights. Hrmh.

Eventually they'll both be in plastic, it's just a matter of which come first. The blood knights have been the target of a lot of contempt due to the controversial price, and are the premiere example of why plastics are better than metals for kits of that size. That said, who really knows until it actually happens.

Not even the metal v. plastics problem solely. The problem is also with GW's idea of "pricing units based on slots/effectiveness".

The Blood Knights, when being designed and 'promoted', were essentially referred to as "Mini-Vampire Lords".

Their effectiveness and scare factor in regards to how "cheesy" they were considered sorta justified it.

GW didn't release Sororitas and Necrons in Finecast because of the close release of new models.
Why should they burn money with Bloodknight recasts and new boxes with even closer new models?
Black Knights are a rumoured possibility though.

Yeah, I never understood the pricing based on unit effectiveness either. I think it's just plain stupid if that's the case. The rules constantly change and that means so too does the meta, which inevitably means some units just won't be as "effective" for everyone as they were anticipated to be when they got released and priced. I completely understand pricing based on raw materials and business costs, but based on this hypothetical value is just nonsense.

The regular Chaos Sorceror is awesome! Not too big on the Tzeentch one, and the other two are great too, but for armies I don't play. If they're as cheap as the rumors suggest though (in the single-digits for pounds) I'll have to pick one up, despite my "no more GW" views. If it is cheaper, I don't mind buying the cheaper stuff. Just the ludicrous prices are a problem (which means my funds are still low).

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

All four of those plastic characters are fantastic, particularly the two Chaos sorcerers. Of course I won't be buying any because GW doesn't like Japan, but if they were being sold by a less demented company I'd be all over them.

Out of curiosity , there are large groups of Otaku in Japan , why wont Bandai create a Gundam version of miniature game?

Any idea how much that'll be in US dollars? $15, I hope?

God, I'd hope for characters being $13.25 again. The cheapest character you can find now is $15. $13.25 would be awesome again. And are they actually plastic? Those packages do look like finecast...but I'm no expert, and I did see 'plastic models' mentioned in the description...

GW price-fail strikes again, eh? How far in Canada are you? Can you just hop the border for minis? Is that anything you have to declare with customs?

Holy crap, the plastic characters were awesome (I just hope that, for 10€, they have some extras a la Space Marine Commander, and they expand that trend to 40k), but the Dragon is simply beautiful. Wish I could take a better look (from different directions, that is), but it certainly is one of the best kits I've seen.

The cockatrice is a very nice sculpt, Trish improved an awesome lot since I got into warhammer. The blues are weird, but the miniature itself is rather tasty.

Very tempted to get the dragon (though I don't like the rider that much), as well as a Necrosphinx. And a Skaven Bell, and the Arachno... oh, why don't I play fantasy?

They don't look like they have any extras(likely why they're in blisters rather than miniboxes), but likely they'd be compatible with parts from the monster version.

Lets hope they get some, it could be a couple of sprues. But the packaging et al... I'm liking it. If they did a Terminator Captain, an Ork Warboss, now that'd be really tasty.

EDIT: These plastic characters eclipse what I expected from Finecast in so many ways. Lovely, lovely miniatures, the whole lot.

Lets see that dragon sculpt stay hidden from warmachines in 8th ed TLOS.

BANG!

Coupled with template warmachines (Cannon, flame cannons, rock lobbers etc) hitting both monster and rider GW stupidly severely limited the number of dragons that people take anymore.

It's not like people will actually play against armies/models they don't think they can beat anyway (see:Forge World) so it doesn't much matter.
