Anything with a heavy flamer frys people not in power armor. As for killing a Raider, that's requires some luck and preferably a stationary Raider.

As for shooting, they get 1 Heavy Flamer, 3 S4 hits and 1.5 S 6 hits. 1 casualty on Marines + whatever the Flamer hits. So no, they probably can't kill a 5 man Marine squad unless they charge them and that's iffy. You could be tied up for quite a while that way.

excellent batreps. enjoyed the flow of the games and your interpretation of the action.

alittle emo about die rolls etc but i can admit that even i have fallen victom to random acts of douchery when a few rolls too many go the wrong way not 1,2,or 3 games in a row but the entire day. it's always painful to witness the odds crashing down on a player and it's equally harsh to have to batrep it into a game.

One of the things I would have done to beef up your troops is to add one of my favorite units:
3 Jetbikes w/Shuriken Cannon
Warlock w/Singing Spear and Destructor

This unit is good against just about anything. Anti-tank, anti-horde, you name it, and it comes in at only 134 points!

That unit would have trouble killing a half-squad of marines. It's got one gun that can hurt a tank, but only from a foot away. That unit isn't good at anything except late game objective grabbing if it were somehow still alive. It can do that without a warlock.

Do you need me to post links to my batreps where they are frying squads of genestealers to killing land raiders?

Yes.

Here I am playing against Hulksmash:

Note the Land raider to the upper right.

Note the crater to the upper right courtesy of my Jetlock with a singing spear.

You can read the full batrep here:

I lost the other batrep where I killed a Land Raider with a Singing Spear. :( My hard disk died with the pictures right before I could write up the batreps. It was at the So Cal Smackdown last Sept.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Man, I apreciate the honesty of these reports and it's nice to see a good batrep of tournament armies go at it. If I failed to destroy that many Dark Eldar vehicles in a turn of shooting as significant as yours was, (Against Dash I think...) I would have completely changed my game plan under the fact lady luck is not shinning on me even a little. That was just harsh rolling. Cool painted army, and no, I have no idea what tactics I would have changed to.
But I will say I hate charging vehicles after they turbo boost, almost never works out for me. Still, sometimes you just have to. Love the tactic of not fielding first turn, cool way to play man, you did pretty damn well and would of liked to see what would of happened if you got a rematch against Dash as it were. GK...man...where was his army???
Anyways cool report thanks for posting it.
How is that said again...? Always prepare for bad luck so when good luck comes you'll be the more happier.

“Well, what do you carry the gun for if you’re just going to waste bullets?” Timer reloads his Boomer as Forling fires his Shrapper.
“I may ‘ne be a good shot Timer, but I don’t miss much from this close up with my hammer,” Forling continues to fire.
“All the enemies are good and far away so what the hell does that…” Timer looks up to see Forling giving him an angry stare. “Oh, yea, ok, um, good shooting.”
