By your own Logic, Helbrecht and the Black Templars are cowards, as well as The Silver Skulls and the numerous other Space Marine chapters that have run away.

From Deff Skwadron:
“Good shootin’, Boss! Now what we gonna do?”
“A Favourite Ole Deff Skwadron Taktik, Gimzod, ’oned to perfektion by years of ’ard–won experience…
… We legs it good an’ proper!”
Calgar is immune to fear and is resolutely courageous under fire; where lesser men would dive for cover when being fired upon, Marneus Calgar takes quick stock of the situation, decides the best course of action, and only if he so decides to leap into cover, then he will do so.
In other words, where lesser Space Marines have enough instinct and training to leap for cover the instant they come under fire and take stock from relative safety, Calgar will stand around for a few seconds getting shot up before considering whether or not he should get out of the way of all that dakka.

Because they are in the core of the story?
Necrons won the first battle, Templars won the second ( destroying much of Imogirs's space fleet in process ). Why should I be angry?
Now, finally back to the OP:

I have to apologize for my earlier mistake, you're right, it doesn't say. Furthermore, we see in the Necron Codex that it's the Sigismund, not the Eternal Crusader, that launches boarding parties. Helbrecht would be leading the Crusade Fleet from the Eternal Crusader, and thus can't have been in the boarding party.
However, it also says that he personally set the collision course of the Inevitable Conqueror, implying that he was on board. Unless the templars managed to hack the necon's systems somehow, he couldn't have done so while sitting on his own ship.
It also says that Imotekh withdrew against his personal feelings, because it was the logical thing to do.
Necron codex page 27, for those who haven't read it.
Another great bit from the new codex:
"I realize that you briefly trod my galleries, but the fact that you spotted in so short a time that my Acabrius War collection was lacking three regiments of Catachan warriors reveals that you truly have a collector's eye for detail. And to send five regiments! Such generosity will allow me to weed out and replace a few of the more substandard pieces in my collection." - Trazyn the Infinite, to Inquisitor Valeria

Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.
If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in. |

There is a difference between tactical retreat and running away from combat that Imogirl do. Helbrecht made tactical retreat to strike his enemies later with grater force, Imogirl didn't return and leave his capital ship and his fleet at the mercy of the BT, LOL.
And just because it is not mentioned that Helbrecht was not on Imogirl's ship doesn't mean he was not there, you seriously expect that Chapter Master would lead his brothers in battle from a distance like IG general? Doesn't sound like Space Marine to me, especially Black Tempalr...
