Ooh, I love what you have done with the Destroyer Lord! I think I may have to steal that particular idea see what I can do to snazz up my stuff in the near future. Anyways, looks pretty good so far, how many points is that total?

I really like the conversion work you've done on the Destroyer Lord, and I'm planning on doing something similar with mine. I particularly like the extra spines on the shoulders, and how clean the conversion is. Also, your painting is much cleaner than mine (I'm here to learn, after all).

There is something that you need to look at, color balance and contrast.
An example where you are using it well is your tesla immortal. The colors you use are repeated throughout the model... green in the guts, green on the end hose on the gun. Blue low in the gun hoses, blue high on the head. The warmth that you create with the corrosion on the shoulders balances the coolness of the blue. They balance. They create harmony.
An example where you don't have harmony is the scarab swarms. They are washed out, and they aren't menacing. They really need a darker color (the darker blue, perhaps right around the eye). It doesn't have to be a lot, but the contrast needs to be there.

Petty thing here, really... I don't like the white in the eye... to me, a glowing eye is much more menacing. Just my opinion, and like I said... a petty thing.

Overall, your skill at painting and converting is impressive and inspiring.

I understand what you are saying about the scarabs though the decision for that is based on diversifying the different units in the game such as the canoptek: scarabs, spyders, wraiths, will somewhat have their own scheme that still ties in with the whole army while the troops have their scheme (Simple base scheme) whilst lets say the elites will have darker shoulder pads and glowing eyes (as an example). The idea is to create a complete composition when looking at the army as a whole. When you look at the vehicle you see a higher concentration of blue and darker shades, when you look at the foot soldiers you see a balanced scheme and when you look at the canoptek you see grey in a brighter more clean scheme. I toyed around with making they eyes glow but I realized I may rip my own hair out trying to do X amount of warriors and immortals with glowing eyes so I am reserving that for Elites and lords. You will see the glowing eyes on my Lychgaurd that I am currently working on. As well I would like to blame the camera and myself for poor picture taking in regards to units looking washed out.

Very classy-looking army you got there. The glow isn't obnoxious, the whites have depth, tasteful metallics that look suitably grim and aged.

Time for an exciting update. After all my hardships regarding work I have finally finished that lychguard squad and here they are. Photographed in all their glory out of my brand new, well as in just mashed together out of cardboard and wax paper, light box. Enjoy and always C&C appreciated

I think 3 and 2 are my favorites. 4 has an interesting pose, never thought Lychguard would try to sweep from above. 5 looks a bit awkward, but maybe that's because of the angle of his shot.
Anywhos, fantastic work as usual.

Wow, only just tuned in but these necrons look great! The mix of colours are awesome and really bring the best out of these models, and the detail looks brill! Really liked the lych guard's shields, they were sublime. Really looking forward to seeing some more!

Currently working on a blood angels, Knights of blood army, will be a little while before I put up pictures (Around September when I go back to uni) And the basing still needs to be done, but I will keep it in mind and get some pics up as soon as possible, my painting skills are far below yours but I would be happy to share anyway

I really like your scheme - but the Lychguard are particularly nice. It's hard to figure out which parts to paint in the color palette one chooses for one's Necrons. I'm going with a (slightly altered) "Nihilakh Dynasty" scheme (GW's turquoise and gold scheme, as seen in WD and the codex). Some of the units haven't been shown painted in this scheme, or I am not entirely satisfied with GW's version, so I'm tweaking it slightly. But even then, when GW's already produced a scheme I like, and even been nice enough to publish short pieces on how to paint this scheme, I still am deciding on how to paint some of the more complex figs.

Your Lychguard, though done in a different color scheme of course, are very helpful in this regard. I think I will borrow some of how you've chosen to paint the different parts (the thigh, for example, with the plate, the thigh itself, and then the thin resecessed designs, I think is very effective)

Keep up the good work! I'll be keeping a closer eye on your progress

Thanks cath I saw your crons and I really enjoy how you are coming along with them. I love the lychgaurd more than any unit and I love in this edition how they can be a very effective shock troop to deliver your lord, or obyron right into the thickest battle. Do keep a close eye as my flyer may be revealed in all its glory
