Ok good to know! Diablo 3 has been eating up all my time so its been a while since i was last on (not including the 10minutes or so to help deconstruct the guard tower i made) New plan, Hall of the Ancients? Or a market square of sorts

They're all pretty difficult to find, usually. The minecart one is easy enough to see, mostly because it sticks out like a sore thumb. That'll need fixin.

Depending on where you're making it, it might just get tied into the main cavern. If you have free time, just keep digging down and following the pattern with the columns.

Or, expand the Mushroom Forest. Sideways, not upwards.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

How about you build a root or rocks over the minecart track.

I'm buiulding a root next time I'm on, opening up into a stone tunnel, with little rocks and bits of dirt intertangles within.

I also need to widen it.
And add more powered tracks.

And place a sign saying '~~trading root~~'

Sounds good! I also wanna start a throne room leading off a courtyard with a lava fountain, but Im not sure where to place it. Any suggestions?

I'd suggest off the Royal District. Or you could start working on cleaning up the Chasm- smooth and clean the walls so that there's no little ledges for mobs to spawn on, and you wouldn't need to worry about lighting it up. Then you could have a little courtyard at the bottom.

BTB, does anyone know the Dakkacraft seed? I'd like to get the world on a Creative mode singleplayer for some testing and example building.

Shooms i might have the perfect place for the throne room, if you find my house in the noble district just keep following the cobble/brick like path till you hit a room witha piller, there should be stairs on the left side goin down to another area im carvin out for whatever, if you like it il help you turn er into a throne room

I think the Throne Room should be in the Royal District, though, don't you? On the other side of the Chasm.

The way I see it, the one side of the Chasm is the big pillared hall that all Dwarven cities need, with the Throne Room and Royal areas behind it- this hall will be the general meeting area, a place for small buildings and shops and such. Then, on the other side of the Chasm will be solid stone for the Nobles to dig their own smaller Halls from, in their own styles. The back entrance will need to be "Karak'd" up a bit to match the main area, but Shooms' own place can have his sort of Roman cobble pillar look.

Here's a somewhat more complete version of what I'm imagining for the majority of the hall- only taller, of course. Stairways will be leading up through the pillars, to platforms where people can either have houses or just open courtyards. Dwarves can have airy, flying architexture as well.

Maybe a light source? Only need a single lava block for the whole hight of it, if you don't bother to fill the pillars in.

Ive changed the whole entrance area of my place to match the rest of the district, Mondo and I did it the other day s no need to segregate me. Who's building their place in the royal district? Everyone seems to have built their places in the same area for now. Maybe I'll hold off on the throneroom, and just build a fountain courtyard somewhere on its own. Also I added a WORKING portal under the Vault (its nice and central so everyone can access it), and a pathway directly from the dwarven portal to spawn portal

I noticed that portal- very nice.

I'll have to get on, and see what you've done. Also, more columns. I might have to move my own 'place' away, as well. Thanks, Dawi, but it's not really in a good location...

And here's something that'll be useful- that little enchantment table with no bookcases around it allows for easy access to level 1 Enchants, which is generally enough to slap an Unbreaking or Efficiency I on a stone pick- really, it's cheaper than making Iron ones (and you shouldn't be making those anyways) and you can get Efficiency I Unbreaking I from a lvl1 enchant, which is essentially an Iron pick from Stone.

We've added a ton of columns as well which you will probably enjoy. Are we going to eventually add bookcases to that table or not bother? Also the noble district should be renamed to the mining district, because that's all there is there...

I've added some bling to the bridge entrance. Far from finished, but here's what it looks like at the moment:

I want to eventually replace the smoothstone with Iron blocks, but im lacking the resources at the moment.

I might build a courtyard in that room above the shop if thats cool? perfect place for it. If not I can find somewhere else/nearby.

Is that... Gold?

Also, be careful when doing pics and swords and such in 'minecraft' style, especially when you're using a texture pack. not everyone's pics look the same. This is pretty clearly a pick and hammer, though, which is more generic, so that's fine.
I'm going on now, and I'll look around (after grinding a bit- I'm planning on making a $#!+ ton of stone picks with lvl 1 enchants.)

No its glowstone, because its lit up at night. Yeah I was careful when designing it, I made it in singleplayer first to make sure it would be recognizable with at least the basic texture pack.

I've now seen it in person, and I'd suggest a single change- make it a little more 3-d. At least the hafts should be 3 thick in the center, all the way up. The hands are amazing, however.

No problems, glad you like it! I was going to make the whole thing 2 thick when I gathered the resources, But I guess I could go 3. Would just take some remodelling.

P.S - If anyone wants to donate Iron it would be greatly appreciated.
