As for the person who commented on GW female models; they're rare and serve a purpose. Daemonettes/Keepers of Secrets are intended to stimulate sexual desire in a twisted way, hence their feminine shape and exposed breast(s) - however, that's exactly the point in their claws and daemonic attributes; they're a hideous juxtaposition of slender curvature, breasts (which are generally accepted to be attractive, exposed or not), flowing, silky hair... and crab claws, disjointed limbs, exposed bones, fangs, and hollow eyes. That is why they exist. Sexual attributes have absolutely no purpose on a Khorne model, male or otherwise. Regardless of sexual preference, the female form is more evocative of smoothness and grace, where the male form is more evocative of strength and brutality. Thus why heavily muscled females are described "masculine" and slender, graceful men are described as "feminine". It is not sexist to say that men are generally more physically able than women, for example, because it is true, and an evolutionary trait seen across many species in the animal kingdom. Whether or not one finds breasts attractive is neither here nor there - one can always get the sense of gracefulness that Daemonettes (who are androgynous, by the way) are supposed to convey, just as the muscle-bound rage-filled daemons of Khorne evoke thoughts of bloodshed and war.

The Sisters of Battle are not BDSM nuns. The nun fetish arose from the strict practices of real nuns, not the other way around. The Sisters, too, were derived from the practices of real nuns. The fetish exists due to a similarity between the strong 'dominating' female (femdom is also a fetish in itself) with a weak 'submissive' female; not only does this play directly into D/s, it also plays into lesbianism - two females. Finally, it has the sadomasochism element; the repentance through pain. Pain, that is, given by a dominating female to a submissive female. Thus the psychology behind the nun fetish is merely an extension and combination of lesbian fetish, domination fetish, and sadomasochism fetish.

However, the Sisters of Battle do not wear latex habits; they wear power armour. There is no sex involved, as would occur if GW were playing them in the 'BDSM lesbian nun' angle. Those strapped to Penitent Engines are not equipped with ball-gags and corsets. There is no Sister Superior who whips the others if they fail a leadership test; except for the Sisters Repentia, and that is the whole point in them; they are atoning through pain. There are female warriors who are inspired by nuns, just as Space Marines are male warriors inspired by monks. Just because they are all-female does not imply they exist as a form of sexual gratification, in exactly the same way that Space Marines are not objectified males.

Other females; Dark Eldar. Yes, they wear skimpy clothes. This is on purpose; the Dark Eldar are all about the physical objectification of flesh. Note all the chiselled muscles engraved into the armour of their men.

Finally, my personal favourite; the Callidus assassin. Synskin is so similar to latex it is unfunny. It would be very, very easy to objectify an able-bodied woman in what is essentially latex zentai.

Parodying sexism can be amusing. It depends entirely on your audience. I have a Jewish friend who likes to parody Jewish stereotypes, and is understanding and mature enough to know not to take something offensively when it isn't intended to be offensive.

The same applies to the speaker, though; the speaker should be mature and understanding enough to know not to say something that the listener will take offensively. Aforementioned Jewish friend, who is also gay, would take "Don't be silly, you can't drive a car, you're gay!" as a joke. Others might not. Knowing your audience is the most important thing.

God, why do I have to write so much about these things? I'm supposed to be doing science work!

EDIT: "Getting in the kitchen" is such an blatantly obvious parody that it can only be offensive to those who are particularly fragile and sensitive to offence. If it were something more subtle, like "a woman shouldn't be in office", for an example, then it is more reasonable for people to take offense.

If you took any part of that seriously, Brother SRM, then I'm quite perplexed.

Whilst I railed against the highly dubious 'Ukrainian slave girl' model, due to the political and moral issues it raised both in being stylized after a real life political prisoner and to it's naming, both of which I found in very poor taste, this is just a silly model. It's a naked woman sculpted after a porn star...that's holding a rocket launcher... Not morally reprehensible like the last one, just juvenile. I'm quite sure the sweaty palm brigade of 'comic book guy' types will rush to buy it and fap whilst painting it.

All the best to them, at least that way they can stay in their mother's basement playing with this and the 'wetnurse' a'la a pervyer version of dark helmet in Spaceballs, and aren't out and about embarrassing the rest of us.

Come on, it's not offensive or porn or anything. I admit I actually sculpted female khorne berserkers with naked torsos a while back when I was like 18. Not nearly as good, but they looked absolutely amazing to me. Because, you know, hehe, he, boobs. Now, they just look stupid for some reason. Same goes for this model.

He posted in this very thread that his favorite part of making these minis is the threads and comments that they inspire. In a way a bit of trolling, but I can see the entertainment to be had from watching people get all worked up over a miniature.

There's a long association between military models and naked women. Before any of the current fantasy/sci-fi model manufacturers even existed, people were building dioramas of soldiers with women in various stages of undress, often draped with bits of uniform (and these dioramas were based on paintings). And of course naked women have been part of fantasy imagery for decades. So this sculptor is following in a well-established tradition. It's undeniably sexist, but it's not offensive as such. I'm surprised that in this day and age a miniature depicting a well endowed nude holding a bazooka attracts so much discussion.
