Holy gak, this one's awesome. If they're lacking the horrendous banana-bends of the FW ones, I'm in.

Such a shame they appear to have disappeared. Some of their kits are really outstanding...

Update:
I'm sorry I have replied sooner, I'm sick.
I received my order yesterday. It was the replacement order sent, not the original shipment.
The owner was good about staying intouch for the most part. He was out of the country for
a bit, but replied as soon as he returned. The items I received were really well made, and look
great. He added a few extra pieces. I feel the backpacks desrve special mention. Really cool item.
I spent a ton on FW ones that I would've never done had I seen these first.

If you don't mind, please contact me back-channel or something and give me a contact method that these guys will actually respond to...I want to give them a chance to make things right, I still want those bits!

Looks like quality bits, those turrets are pretty nice. Thought mucking around with getting stuff to people is not a good way to get business going, especially when you don't communicate.

I would love to buy some of their stuff, but I'm too scared to try.

What is this? I arrive home to see a note from the post office saying I have a package from Poland? Could it be that the bits are here, after taking the slow boat from Europe? We'll know tomorrow afternoon...

Anyone know any good recipes for crow?

YES! Even though there hasn't been any more communication from Forge Planet, the package did arrive today, and I must say, the casting is excellent quality, no bubbles, no warping. Some flash is there, on the sprue, not on the model, and there's some minor sanding to be done on the underside of the turret plug, but every surface that is visible on the assembled Rhino turret or twin linked autocannon arms is excellent.

So, there you go people, the stuff takes a long time, and communications aren't the best, but the quality is there, and it does arrive, eventually.

Given this thread showing at least 2 folks saying they never got product and had to file credit card chargebacks, I think folks should be extremely wary of this company...

To be avoided!

It says a lot about this industry when the Russians wind up being more reliable than many of the "honest" after-market product guys.

For whatever it's worth, I have ordered product from Forge Planet again recently, and while shipping certainly did take some time, I received everything and in excellent condition.

For-freaking-ever!!!
Great stuff, but seriously, a 6 - 8 week wait. My last order I filed a claim with Paypal, 2 days before it expired I received an expedited replacement order.
5 days after that, the original order showed up! Since he was nice enough to send a replacement, the least I could do was pay for it!

It's been about 4 weeks for me for all of my orders, though, one hit the 6 week mark.

I just don't understand why he can't be assed to send an email saying that he's backed up on casting or something and apologizing and explaining and whatnot. It's totally crippiing what would otherwise be a successful business.

Or to simply cast and ship in a reasonable time. If you can't do that, close down shop and stop taking people's money.

Is it a case of his casting being slow

or is it just the Russian postal service being terrible (which it apparently is, especially when it comes to getting stuff out of the country)?

I've never had any problems getting stuff in a timely fashion from Russian eBay sellers. I think Forge Planet is in Poland though, and other sellers out of Poland also have no problem shipping stuff and keeping up good communication.

I, too, have had no problems getting items from Russia. I've gotten 3 this year. I also order from other companies in Poland (at least a handful of times this year, too) with no problems.

So, imo blaming it on the post is not adequate, particularly since it is coupled with a lack of any communication from what folks are saying.

Hmmm

I know the stuff I've ordered in from Russia (either via eBay or via the manufacturers website) has typically taken 4-6 weeks to get to the UK, and I'm pretty confident they've been posted within a couple of days of the order

(I know they were for a couple of the 1/35 kits I've bought)

I wonder if there's an issue with them getting into the EU compared to the USA?

My mistake then (thanks for putting me right),

Disregard my comments above, I've no experience with ordering from Poland, and no idea how long you might expect the polish postal service to take

I've had no issues with many packages from Maxmini and Kromlech, and even Bitspudlo in Poland. I had issues with Puppetswar, but that was with them fething about with sending my order, not with the Polish post, as once it was sent it came relatively quickly.

Once items are sent from Poland, it's usually 2-3 weeks to Australia once sent, from my experience of 10+ orders from various sources.

Anyway, looks like I'll be giving Forge Planet a miss.

Yeah, Russia and Poland both lickety-split for me. Only exception? Puppetswar when they don't send stuff.

If anything, Russian shipping always seems strangely quick.

Hey guys, i thought i'd throw a comment into this thread as I've just recently made an order to Forge Planet for some of their Iron Guard gun carriages.

I placed the order on Wednesday 26th June (payday!) at 6am, before i left for work. Later that night i was checking my emails and there was one from FP stating my order's status had been changed to 'dispatched'. I'd say that's pretty good to receive and verify my payment and ship the item all on the same day, so lets see how long it takes to reach my little rain soaked corner of the world. I've ordered from Poland before (MaxMini) and it took about 3-4 weeks.

This is the first time I've ordered from them and I've had my eye on those gun carriages for quite a while. I'll admit that there's always a fair bit of trepidation when ordering from an overseas 3rd party bits company but i'm willing to give them a try - at the end of the day I've only spent 20 quid, which i'll not miss too much if things go pear shaped. Plus, i paid with PayPal so i should be able to recoup this paltry sum.

As soon as they land through my door i'll let you all know, maybe post some pics of the carriages for those interested.
