If you're playing Apocalypse there's no debate at all: the correct list is X Marauder Destroyers, where X is your point total divided by 525.

Why? Because http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Imperial_Navy/MARAUDER_DESTROYER.html is the most beautiful model GW has ever produced, and the only thing better than one of them is an entire squadron of them.
