Okay, so for a while I've been meaning to turn this blog into something a little different than what it is -- that is to give it a more concrete direction and purpose while still allowing my ADD to run amok. To that end I wanted to set some goals and let you all in on what I'm planning to do over the course of a year.
First of all, I want to get at least two playable armies painted up to 5th edition standards. (I haven't really taken to any of the rulesets afterwards) My little brother has been looking to jump into 40k with space marines, and I fancy coming up with badab-style loyalist on loyalist fight. Possibly between blood angels and ultramarines, or possibly the dark angels finally getting outed. I dunno. I just want to write some of my own fluff, for fun. As such a conflict would invariably swallow other chapters, I might have the opportunity to do some one off squads for other chapters.

For the time being, my two main projects remain the retro-themed blood angels and ultramarines. I've decided that all the honest-to-goodness retro models will go to the blood angels, as I think they wear it better. The retro-scheme for the ultras carries over better on the current models than the blood angels does, so they will mostly comprise of current (3rd ed and onwards) models. The salamanders will also feature promininently, and I have got those steel legion guys around somewhere too.

Well that's pretty much it. I did want to show off the last few days' progress on my 2nd ed blood angels tac-squad so here goes:

Cheers.
