I think that might be cool, but only once or twice through the whole movie.... In movie formats, there are tons of ways to break the fourth wall that make it somewhat unnecessary to have text boxes or thought bubbles.
Agreed. Just hearing voices that seem louder then everything else kind of like Sauron in LotR could work well.
I think the few times that Kevin Spacey's character in House of Cards breaks the fourth wall work really well in that show, and could work well, if used properly here as well.
Yeah that would do it nicely too. A mish mash of things could keep it from growing stale
