So, it leaked like 30 minutes ago on the FOX site.

They already blocked all the youtube posts and such for it.

Just wondering who else saw it?

It looked great!

For those wondering, this is for the Deadpool movie Ryan Reynolds and Rob Liefield have been fighting for for years now.

It was only like 1.30 minute long but Ryan nailed the character.

Haven't seen it.

The fact that it's been yanked off 'tubes might signify that it's happening...soon.

I just hope it's rated fething "R" with gratuitous gore and zingers!

Well, that 1.30 minute had 5 people dying, one guy losing his head and another getting kicked out of an SUV which proceeded to drive over him.. so...

Quick... SIGN ME UP BRAH!

Think about it... a rated "R" Marvel flix may work now.

Keep in mind that Spiderman (Tobey version) was released in 2002. Those "kids" back then would be over 18 yo for sure...

The market has to be ripe for a flix like this.

It's been ripe for the last 5 years. The Deadpool fanbase is huge. Hell, it's been the most cosplayed character at SDCC for the last 5 years.

I liked it, though the resolution was so crap that it looked like DP was almost entirely CG; I'm not sure if that was an artefact of the mask he was wearing, but it looked really unnatural.

I was slightly disappointed by the lack of gore though, I was expecting it to be up there with the comic with regards to gore.

Still, it looks rather fun, and I'm excited to see more

He was entirely CGO, Ryan Reynolds motion captured the entire thing.

As for gore, it was more a budget thing then anything, since it was just a pitch trailer. This was made entirely from their own wallets.

Yes... My only "caution" to wanting this movie, is if they continue with the garbage "powers" and back story they gave him in "XO: Wolverine"

That does explain why it looked CG by 'lack of gore' I meant stuff like, in the comics they'd show that whilst he would survive the drop into the car, but his legs would shatter, but in this he somehow managed to jump off a bridge and shatter the sunroof of a car without any leg injuries.

Liefeld is the creator of Deadpool and Ryan Reynolds is a huge comic book fan. If they get to do it, it won't be an issue.

I thought the deadpool game was great. Not that the game was innovative, but the script was funny and made me want to keep playing. My only issue is why do they change stuff on all the back stories? They work as written and changing it just detractsfrom the story.

Don't know about the equivalent ratings across the pond, but this would be at least a 15+ over here in the UK. To be honest, though, that would allow them a lot more leeway with all the gore, which they presumably only didn't show in the pitch because of their budget.

The trailer does look pretty cool, though, glad to see Deadpool has a mouth again.

But, aha, they cancelled that entire backstory out with Days of Future Past!

Possibly why a VERY "renowned" director should take the movie... someone who'd give the shots we need, and make a right and proper Deadpool movie... Someone like, Quentin Tarantino. This way, there'd be no shortage of fake blood even remotely possible

Have Eli Roth direct it.

While violent and possibly NSFW, in a Deadpool kind of way, if you want to see the pitch teaser it is here.

Yeah I saw it and chuckled through the whole thing. Very over the top, and I think this character is a good fit for Ryan Reynolds. Unlike that green lantern turd. Hope this works out, a rated R comic book to movie would be a nice change in pace

Isn't a pitch really an idea about what the story would be?

I mean this works as a really cool scene, but how does it work for a full movie?

Would he really work without making references to the entire Marvel universe and beyond? Could he even do that with the way the film rights are divided at the moment?

Well most of deadpool's interactions are with the various x-teams, and they have the rights for those, so he'll be able to name drop a fair amount. (Though sadly no Bob: Agent of Hydra)

I really would love for this to get made. It's the kind of character that's perfect for Reynolds and he's been pushing for this forever.

I don't hold the movies Reynolds does against him outside of him signing up to do them He's a pretty good actor and fun to watch. He just never really broke out of the "funny" guy mold (similar to Evans prior to Captain America).

We'll see. But I'd go see this in theatres in a heartbeat. Though I do wish Marvel had the rights to it, not Fox The movie would probably have already been on it's way to being made by now.

<sigh>

Time for an unpopular opinion. But hey, this is dakka I'm sure you will all be understanding and supportive (har har har)...

But I absolutely hate Deadpool, and this trailer thing depresses me. It's all of the same blunt-force-trauma-what's-subtlety bad humor that makes me just weary of the world in general. I will grant that it is well shot and the action is good, but the thought of an hour or more listening to his "LOOK AT MY REFERENCES AND LAUGH YOU SHEEP" jokes fills me with utter dread.
