I would say it is a personality complex, probably something to do with attention seeking.

But, really excited about this movie. I didn't get to see the 5 minutes but I have basically been dreaming of this since he got that little snippet of time at the beginning of Wolverine: Origins. (Not the later stuff, that wasn't Deadpool)

The sad thing is, Hugh Jackman is not going to be Wolverine past this next movie. So any sort of Wolverine/Deadpool crossover stuff they could have pulled out has just been ruined. Those guys are just the best of pals!

Thanks for having a go at me when I was trying to make a joke so we could all back out of what was rapidly becoming a stupid argument over nothing, congratulations.

Classic Deadpool, when he was hunting his demons, was angry but goofed to keep his opponents pissed and off their game...that's the Deadpool I think we'll see. Reynolds is a fan. And they've discussed what the capturing points of the movie will be. I think we're gonna get a classic style of Deadpool, not the Daniel Way current stuff where he just doesn't understand the character he's writing. Melvin, go back and pick up the Deadpool Classics vol. 1. It'll have a baby-blue border around Deadpool standing there. That'll give you a good appreciation of who the character is. Current DP...I can't read it. I don't think the authors get what they're writing.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Daniel Way isn't exactly the current Deadpool writer either..... Most of the newest serials I've seen in the comic shop are written by Brian Posehn.

I don't disagree with you on the Daniel Way stuff... But I also happen to like it. IMHO it's basically a different flavor of "ice cream" ya know.. if murderous, 4th wall breaking, samurai sword wielding psychopaths were ice cream.

If you think that Daniel Way is current deadpool then you're about 3 years late. It's been written by Posehn and Duggan for the past 43 issues, since 2012.

And the current run has been excellent; if you think that they don't understand it then read The Good, The Bad and the Ugly arc, and your mind will change.

Also, if that interview is the tone of the film, I am even more excited than I already was.

I haven't read that story arc (yet), but I'll be sure to now.

And yeah... I think that if that interview was anything to go by, should be a good time.

I go on about it a lot, but that arc changed my perception of the character of Deadpool entirely. It's a brutal, brutal storyline, but it's excellent.

Is Deadpool going to be part of the MCU or is it it's own thing?

I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

"insert all the facepalms"

He's part of the x-men license. So, no, Disney doesn't have the movie rights.

Yeah, but from the sounds of it, FOX is being told how the movie is getting made, and they just have to deal with it. We're getting the Deadpool movie we deserve. It just can't have Avenger crossovers. SONY could allow for a Spidey crossover, like they did with Marvel. Not likely, but there is now precedence with them.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Which is odd honestly. My understanding is that Fox has the rights to any character that has ever been referred to as a Mutant by Marvel and Deadppool is not a Mutant but a Mutate. (Mutates are people who had something happen to them that altered them and gave them powers i.e. Hulk/Spiderman). Marvel should have the rights to Deadpool.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

IIRC that is true to my understanding as well... however, I believe that Fox also has the rights to basically all of the characters already appearing in, or mentioned in their movies. Which is why the Quick Silver/Scarlet Witch thing was so interesting.

Now, that's not to say that there's some sort of character "arms race" between Marvel and Sony, as to this point each one has generally stuck with characters that are "traditionally" associated with the heroes that each one has. Deadpool is most commonly associated with Cable, Wolverine and the occasional X-Men run, which I believe is why he's gone to Sony.

That and I seriously doubt even Disney-Marvel would "let" Deadpool be rated R the way it needs to be.

It's probably because Deadpool is part of the whole Weapon-X thing which is heavily associated with the x-men. I mean, his healing factor comes straight from Wolverine.

I like to think that they make him wear the Wade Wilson makeup even in the suit.

Hmmm, I see Reynolds in that face shot, but where's the Shar-Pei??

If you don't get the reference, you're either A) not a real Deadpool fan, or B) a kid.

Lol, honestly don't think that would work in a movie.

I'm just trying to separate the men from the infants on the Deadpool knowledge level.

Given Deadpools murky history of retcons and just general lunacy, it is difficult to tell what is actually happening and what is a figment of his imagination in the comics. There are many parts of his original run that are argued about. Is his whole thing with Death real or was it just his insanity? Can he really die or is the curse from Thanos real?

I wonder if they'll try to incorporate the different colored text boxes into it somehow.

I think that might be cool, but only once or twice through the whole movie.... In movie formats, there are tons of ways to break the fourth wall that make it somewhat unnecessary to have text boxes or thought bubbles.

I think his BroDown with Cable was real. Certainly enough for X-Force and Cable to remember it during the Messiah Arc. And that's one of the comics where I drew my reference. The church of Blue People story. Where Cable trolled everyone and turned them pink instead. After the 2 4-issue Deadpool arcs, Deadpool Classic (like 60 issues), Agent X, then Cable and Deadpool was where my reference came from.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Agreed. Just hearing voices that seem louder then everything else kind of like Sauron in LotR could work well.

I think the few times that Kevin Spacey's character in House of Cards breaks the fourth wall work really well in that show, and could work well, if used properly here as well.

I've got to say, I'm not a comic reader, but the general story and style of the Deadpool computer game was great fun (even if the actual gameplay was a rather awful).

How does that really compare with the Deadpool from the comics? There seems to be a bit of a spectrum on how the character is played, so where does the Deadpool character in the game sit?

The game version of deadpool leaned a bit more to the random lulz side of the character that's been the staple of some writers. I prefer the more recent issue where a lot of his lunacy actually get's explained.
