Well over a 100 Objective Markers now, almost one for every possible situation, more traps bomb style, one of the only marker themes i have not got many of,i believe realistically every squad would have an objective, intentional or not, orders or necessity, plus fancy equipment for special jobs, such as clearing razor wire defenses with bangalores,or feeding digestion pools with body's.

The bottles painted up well,i was worried they would look off due to being molds, will be making a bunch more of them since i used up the batch i made.
Know what you mean about the blips would need them with my collection, think the new 40k edition will have a bunch of new fancy objective markers no doubt, and that will bewitch newbies into making there own most likely.

Not sure what i will make next, but will be a week or two away, need a break from painting for a bit,not even sure how many models i have made in the last couple of months, know it's alot though because i'am running out of containers and bubble wrap to protect them.

Blessed Artillery Shells.
Uses include Large fixed gun or Basilisk ammo, can be destoryed T5 1wound,Creates an Apocalyptic class Blast,And
Worth 100credits if captured in the usual way and sold after battle,Allows a single Large Caliber gun to have +2Strength Against Chaos Targets.
Holy Enhanced Earthshaker Cannon Ammo,The purity seals are made with green stuff.

Working on other stuff, but in no rush this time, nor will there be any more posting of several sets of markers at once,as for what i'am working on next, not sure as i'am still making bits with green stuff and have yet to finish my round of molding, will take a week or more as spare time allows, keep i mind i'am making 100s of bits most are lasgun power pack size or smaller! it is incredibly fiddly work, already made about 50 parts, and 16 new molds, yet still miles off being done, will likely post another small marker set in another week though regardless, and eventually scale back yet again too 2 weeks, that way i have plenty of time to make more,as well as slow down adding to my already massive collection, hopefully freeing up time for other things, hobby and non hobby.

A 25mm offering this time,as i was busy with green stuff which i'am now finished with, which is why no set like usual.

Kitchen Loot Counter.
Worth 20Credits if captured and sold at a trading post,or post battle rearming phase.

Also check my blog/lab link in the bottom of my posts, for some interesting shots of well over a hundred green stuff bits,
as well as some before & after pictures of some previously made bits that are now painted..

I did these a while back, just extra bits from the dire avenger & wraith lord sprues.

(I touched up the frosted superglue afterwards).

"Blessed Artillery Shells" kinda the next step up from Holy Hand-grenade. Very good, nice idea.

Been working on that water still I built. Its at the base coat stage where you're looking at it thinking "aw man this thing isn't turning out as good as I'd hoped." Needs a load of weathering. Layers and layers of rust and dirt always helps.

I'm working on a bunch of barricades too, but they're not really objectives so much as just terrain to hide behind. Some nice pieces in there though, pallets and building site materials and street objects. Mostly made of balsa wood and toys I stoll from my kids.
W.I.P.
Spoiler:

Any-who, still following your progress, still enjoying your ideas.

These are really sharp work. It took me a closer look to really appreciate how much care and work you've given them. Nice to see another truely dedicated objective enthusiast.

If you have any interesting Eldar heads in your bits box, helmets I mean, I could see an exarch helmet making a good eldar objective marker, or... another idea I just had. If you have any of that clear water feature stuff you could make up a little crater and set an Eldar spirit stone at the centre and fill it up into a little pool like the thing fell from space made a crater which then became a little other worldly water feature.
Just an idea.

Yes, dollar stores are your friend. Construction sets, city street signs, trucks and trains with loads you can take in and out, usually barrels or logs or something ubiquitous where scale won't matter much. Even Farm sets can be useful for fences or gates or even agricultural equipment you could work into a scrap pile or an agri-world themed terrain set. Even just a tractor can be stripped for tyres or an odd looking chassis to base some ork vehicle on if the scale is right. Not to mention army sets!

Its all cheap plastic junk but with a bit of thought and skill and a decent paint job it can become something very nice. Couple of quid, chop it to bits, glue it to a base with a few choice items (balsa wood/Popsicle planks, Q-tip stick "metal pipes", string for ropes or keychain bits for metalwork, garlic net for wire fence, corrugated card for tin roof, sticky plasters for canvas.) Blob of glue and sand. Spray it black and paint it up. Hobby craft at its finest folks.

Something a Bit different altogether this time,in the form of an environmental hazard & resource deposit.

Promethium Deposits.

Natural raw and untapped oil, used to power the war machines of man and xeno alike, however not without risk,
can be harvested for 50credits after each battle in the rearm phase (shadow war, necromunda, kill team)
The risk is that of both drowning in the tar like substance,or blown up by a pocket of natural gases, each harvest roll a D6 on a 5 the harvester fell in and drown,on a 6 the deposits explode with a large blast S4 AP6,measured from either the large pool or the 3 smaller pool's.

@theCrowe,Your still making that...still,nice look forward to seeing it when it's done, not managed one myself, well so far i mean,as for holy hand grenades, never thought to make any with my green stuff but to be fair did need the stuff for bits production this time, maybe when i get more green stuff skills, them barricades have barrels and such look like good looty spots for any ork,so could easy be used as loot markers, also cool bits usage once again!

Those oil deposits are very nice. Very gloopy and hazardous looking. I could see them used in Gorkamorka to great effect. Like as a wacky racers oil slick trick.

And I've Finally got some pics of this thing uploaded!

One classic Necromunda Waterstill.

And the other side

This thing is made of paper card, plasticard, garlic net, wire, cuetip sticks, 40k bits and some spongey clay stuff.

Got six barricades made for Necromunda too at the same time but they're not really objectives, more just convenient cover. Lots of barrels and pallets and road barriers etc. That sort of thing.

Awesome Water Still, was expecting something smaller,an average piece, but that is real nice marker you built there,
good work on the weathering and metals also, the condenser part inside with the coils looks to be the important worky bit again nicely done, nailed the post apocalyptic feel with that one.

I too have an Offering nothing big or as cool looking as the above still though, but is made from green stuff.
The Classic Escape Hatch,or Missile silo if you so choose.

Not working on anything for a week, until the temperature cools down,so next markers will be a couple of weeks away, maybe bit less, likely be more use of green stuff,
Think i'am nearing having markers for almost everything now,few left that being Jungle/Woodland Traps,Pitfalls,Stake Pits,TripWires,Industrial/City/Hive Themed Hotshot Ammo Box,Krak Grenade Box,Frag Grenade Box,
More Necron Spy Scrabs Sneaking around,Gunslingers Stash Lots of guns with lots of pouches acts as an upgrade and or significant loot,Snow/Iceworld Holy & Or Unholy Weapon Drops/Loot,Food & Or Medical Supply's Box,all of which are or will be green stuff bits, used for the main parts, there are more idea's,
But in order to make them all i would personally have to make likely a thousand objective markers on top of the amount i have now,and as cool as that would look and be,i do have other hobby's that aren't warhammer or painting related,so will likely wrap it up after i have used most of the green stuff bits i produced and made the above creations, ending it by taking a few monster size pictures of them all and updating the first post.

So post them while you got um folks this thread is not a forever thing,And will end after i have made another dozen or so sets, either way hope it inspires others to make something cool for there choice army to fight over,
Lots of interesting and well painted Objective markers here, with a great variety of themes, probably more than any other dakka thread.

Dakka is the ork word for shooting, but the ork concept of shooting is saturation fire. Just as there is no such thing as a "miss" in a target-rich environment, there is no such thing as a "dodge" in a bullet rich one

A Overlooked area i forgot about now remedied, seems obvious guess that's why i forgot "heavy weapons"

Missile Launcher & Super Krak Upgrade.
Shadow war Price-tag Used or if you prefer necromunda rules and weapon costs use them, also makes for a chunky loot marker.

Made a whole bunch of Objective Markers,Which Will be posted as the markers thread drops off the front page of P&M,in order to maximize the time the thread is active so others have a better chance to share there own creations.
Been a while since i broke out the old flock and static grass, woodland theme is a nice one for sure, likely do some more in this area, besides you probably are getting bored of Industrial/Underhive Themed bases,so expect a couple of woodland traps to make for a nice change,
These half dozen will be slowly posted as follows x2 Heavy weapons,x2 Special Weapons,x2 Woodland Traps, will be posting them in that order one at a time so hold your horses to see what i made.

Okay, sharing my two sets designed specifically for *th. One is just a bunch of banner flags from an old dwarf set I never used (it came with like 12 banners...) Numbered for the 8th of course. The Other is bits from rivets at work. This is the part that pops out when you drive them in. They look like artillery shells so...they are numbered as well...count the shells on each base. Anyway, here you go.
PS: Love this thread. Great ideas here.

i guess i should show my appreciation of this thread then by contributing, eh?^^

here are some objectives i made for a competition specially to this theme of objective markers:

loot/ amo marker...

fallen officer/ surrender...

motivational standard bearer...(rather sarcastic one too^^)

and a series of markers or rather a set ...a set of teleporters for another comp...all Tau themed...with matching six sided die and rules behind them as to have a connection/ transportation over the whole board...:

@theCrowe , I know the ones you are on about was after some on ebay few months ago for carnivorous plant set,bit expensive though for my taste, although never looked too deep, probably be cooler to just improvise and make a sarlacc pit with cocktail stick spikes for teeth or some such.

Just painted up some of my green stuff bits make a start painting them all ,as well as made a bunch of balsa wood pallets, slowly getting closer to my fabled Pallet/s of ammo. WIP below, although still a good while off before you get to see the masses of bits i have, used to make markers.

Them pallets look a little delicate. you gotta work with the grain on balsa wood. With the grain cutting across the planks like that you could snap them pretty darn easily.

I cut mine with the grain going longways down the planks.
Still, If you're gluing them down to a base it'll likely not matter of course. Looking forward to your results as ever.

I'm trying to think if i've got one of those plants to spare... i'll have to go dig in my bits box and see.

@theCrowe , Crap! yehh kinda only noticed when you mentioned it,Besides your Pallets look far more, pallety and good, compare to mine i mean,
Still going to keep the ones i made, but looking at your ones, think i will make some more, based on your's,have lot's of balsa left,
As for the poison maneating flytrap things from the catachans,if i had one before i used it would make a mold or two from green stuff,is a OOP bit after all, make a whole bunch more then too.

Ha, the golden gun! Classy. If James Bond were an imperial agent he'd totally use a las pistol. Though iirc the golden gun is the bad guy's weapon... Nevermind, nice objectives. A laspistol made of good is about the only laspistol worth fighting over.

New Theme from me >

Woodland Pitfall Trap.
Environmental hazards are common place on many death worlds and even the most primitive human can make this age old hunting tool,
Used to Capture Food, and or enemy units, however friendly units can pull out the trapped when in close proximity to the pitfall trap/s.

Next Marker>

Woodland Tripwire Trap.
Environmental hazard the kind of traps commonly employed by human forces such as catachan jungle fighters, who set up ambushes and cover there retreat by laying down,
simple but effective traps across the trails used for escape, lethal effect using frag grenade rules when triggered on a D6 roll of the trap layers WS.

Progress update:Made a bunch of new pallets based on the ones theCrowe used on the barricades,as such they will be the type used for the eventual pallet full of hotshot, also finally made a start on painting the required mass of bits, head over to my blog/lab link in the bottom of my posts,to see what bits will be used in the future, also check out my entry to the painting challenge,a necromunda fallout themed marker set was made, set in the lowest part of a hive, the sump, ohh and don't forget to throw me a couple of votes if you like the marker vote on it.

There will be a substantial delay before i post my next set as it will be alot of effort and therefor time used also, but you can expect unusual amounts of bits to be used.
