The Landspeeder is shaded and drybrushed too now but I have another set of TAC marines on order, along with some additional parts from eBay. Before I finish painting the Landspeeder I need to convert two of my existing TAC marines and build another 5 in time for the first WH40K club night of 2019...

So the TAC marines are built and primed (have been for a while), and the conversions have been finished.

Also got the Landspeeder finished:

Nice work!

With the price drop, I really need to start flying mine again. Always been a big fan of the TML/HB speeder.

I'm finally painting my last 5 TAC marines, so by the weekend I should be back to 800 points WYSIWYG with everything painted

Thanks Nevalon.

Getting everything finished coincided with reaching 10k views on Flickr too which is cool.

Okay, so I've been busy playing games with my fully-painted army since my last update, but now it's time to build and paint something a bit different (and not blue).

It's a set of models that require base coating and shading during the build, so I'll probably do that then start playing with them before completing all the dry brushing and layers.

I picked up the last of the paints I needed today, but I have a busy weekend and week ahead so it'll likely be next weekend before I can make a start...

2 Warglaives base coated during assembly today - the Helverins will follow next weekend...

What a satisfying build! Great models too with 3 points of articulation on the thermal spear arm and 4 on the reaper chain cleaver arm.

Looking good Brother Castor.

The painted force looks great and yes, playing with painted armies always makes the game just that more enjoyable.

Cheers,

<sigh>

I was afraid of that. Darn ruinous powers, corrupting the youth today with their fancy toys and death-bots.

Now where did I put my thunderhammer...

Just be sure you add some more AV firepower to the loyalist side to make sure they can take down those bots if things get heated on the display shelf.

And that will almost certainly be what they'll face first - a Space Wolves force with wolf-mounted thunder hammers...

No display shelf - the Ultramarines live in a Citadel Skirmish Case and I haven't yet worked out a solution for the Armigers. My Renegade Knights aren't going to be converted, but I guess the cat will be out of the bag when the mark of Chaos goes on the warlord...

Some nice looking Ultras. It’s amazing what a bit of dry brushing can achieve, and it’s so easy to do (even if I still get it wrong from time to time!). The armigers have started off nicely, they’ll look even better once the wash and dry brush goes on! Keep up the good work!

I appreciate things have been a bit quiet of late - I've been focusing on gaming and storage. Having said that, there have been a couple of developments...

2 more Armigers in progress:

And look what else just arrived today (picked up for £50 on eBay!):

From a P&M point of view, I'm going to need to do some research on magnetising and painting before I start on the big guy. I'll be going for a Crusader loadout initially but don't want to limit myself to that.

It's been quite a while so I thought I'd post a quick update...

The 'War Dogs' are nearly finished. I've played 4 games with them and I just need to do the silver armour detail on 3 more, and bases on 5 more. Once that's done I'll post a photo of all 6 together.

Codex: Chaos Knights should have been delivered today but the Royal Mail had other ideas, so I guess that'll arrive on Monday now.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a colour scheme for my Despoiler? I could just replicate the scheme I used on my War Dog warlord with the yellow pauldron, but I'm starting to think something a bit different (but complementary) might be more interesting.
