Wolf players may want to look away now....

I heard a rumour that SW codex will NOT contain russ which will no doubt please many people.
This is because he is coming with a later codex on a totally unrelated note apparently Khorne has got himself a new pet "there's a good doggy, no drop the bloodthirster".

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

Well, all previous 40K Primarch releases had video teasers for them some 6 to 4 months prior.

congrats you've fallen for a hoax over 6 months old.

The idea of a returned primarch going traitor doesn't make much sense on a number of levels. First off from a busniess POV Khorne players aren't apt to be all that intreasted in "evil Russ" sure some'll snag him but it'll be a curiosity more then anything else. It'd also be a missed chance with space wolves whom, from what I can tell are one of the more popular marine factions.

From a story standpoint if Russ was proven and known to have fallen it would put the space wolves under a cloud of suspicion, NO marine legion whose primarch has fallen is trusted, Gulliman won't even accept the use of their geneseed. the space wolves would proably be destroyed, and if not would pretty much exist under a cloak of heavy suspicion, which might be good if they wanted to grimdark to hell the space wolves, but it just doesn't feel like what they wanna do to me.

that said a loyalist primarch returning IS big news. remember Magnus, Morty, have always been there in the background, their return isn't a big story to be told. So I do think that a loyalist primarch returning in a codex seems unlikely. and more likely to happen in a "big event book" ala Gathering storm.

How long ago was that rumour of Russ falling to Khorne? Damn id be pissed and I ain't even a Wolves main.

Id like there to be no teaser for him. Just have him show up out of nowhere and start taking names.

Badtucker's comment is interesting

talking to folk in the know.... no russ. or they are really secretive on it.

not saying he's not comming... just not in this codex.
next primarch is a traitor one who has alot of beef with girlyman. he will drop in a campaign book - which is somthing he he are going to be doing more of after the big dexes are done.

That can be only two Primarchs that fit that, Fulgrim or Lorgar.
Also, did that person really use Girlyman and not Guilliman?

Is Gorillaman not his name?

What beef does Fulgrim have with Roboute? I don't remember Fulgrim having much to do with Roboute during the Heresy.

But yeah, unless Angron is still super pissy that Roboute got away at Nuceria.... Its probably not him if these rumors are true.

Fulgrim is the one who almost killed Guilliman before he was put into stasis. I would assume he is not happy that he is back on his feet.

You would think Guilliman would be the one who was more pissed off, being on the receiving end of a Cuban necktie from Fulgrims sword. Just on a side note, can we just soak in how much of a bad ass Fulgrim was at dueling lol.

Fulgrim is a bit upset he was cheated out of his kill yes.

Lorgar probably still has a major grudge stemming from Monarchia.

Fulgrim is much more likely though being the Daemon Primarch for Slaanesh. I would expect Fulgrim and Angron before any others make an appearance as that covers off all the Chaos Gods.

And back on topic - I would love for Russ to come back but think it unlikely that this would be in time for the codex due to the lack of teasers from GW.

I guess I just don't see why they waited this long to do SW if not to do something different than rehash of Index with Stratagems and Relics added like the other quick dexes.

You know Dakka has a worse record than Nafka? Naftka is no different than Dakka. All he does is collect rumours just like how people on Dakka do. Unless you have ACTUAL proof he makes up crap.

Also wasn't this a rumour from 6 months ago from what I read from a previous poster. So it seems a recycled rumour doing the rounds.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Dakka has rumour accuracy stats. Check reliable ones. If those post listen. If not or "anonymous source" ignore. Faeit is place for fools to go to for rumours. There#s better sources so why not just use those?

You make it sound like he misspelled Girlyman's name.

There's still the opportunity for the first chapter specific Primaris (like, real units, not just a character). GW did say about Orks and Space Puppies that they'd get new models. Wolfed up Primaris need production capacity and release slots, too, not just Russ.

Problem is, Guilliman didn't originally do much in the Heresy. The original concept actually was pretty much .. Ultramarines missed the Heresy for the most part, hence they have all those guys left we'll use to make new Marine Chapters and Guilliman writes the user manual.

I guess Calth is the one iconic conflict they were in, though BL has been piling on more stuff with Imperium Secundus, etc.., etc. to give Ultramarines something to do in the broader Heresy-story-bloat.

Yeah, but the turnaround would be too short, if GW would've wanted to see some numbers on the original Primaris before putting more resources there. We know, among others, from the rumour engine that the AoS Soul Wars content was kicking around on the "Eavy Metal paint stations and social media guys' desk before Dark Imperium was released. So would any other Primaris stuff released in 2018, presumably. I wouldn't expect more Primaris to cash in on the 2017 record year until the second half of 2019 at the earliest.

Quite right on the time frame for new projects, but who says GW waited for numbers? Primaris are the new Marines and there is little doubt that GW has confidence in them. Marines don't fail. There really is no reason to wait, especially since it's not just new models. GW committed to bollocksing up the entire background to fit in Primaris. You don't think that after that effort they want to wait what their accounting department has to say? That train's long gone.
