if you can fit a wash and a couple of metallics you've got a good chance of finishing while you're away. Good luck.

Also....It has a base... There had better be flaming tyre tracks! Can you fit it on the very front of the base overhanging as far as possible to.leave more.spafe for flaming tyre tracks?

In fact, you also need a second base that only has tyre tracks on it to represent a successful jump

Thanks IGtR= and Flinty, lol yeah that was on my list of extras I might be able to do, wasn't sure how to do to the flames. I thought maybe pulled melted glue but would have to make it and the car interchangeable. I'll see what I can do in the time.

An update from me, I did go away with work but had to pull out of my training course and get to hospital because I could no longer swallow, which does have its drawbacks. Turns out the cold I had last week hadn't completely gone and had lead to an infection in my throat that caused an abscess (called a Quinsey) to slowly build pushing my tonsil into my throat and blocking most it and making it very painful, even swallowing my own saliva was like chugging broken glass. Went to A & E and got admitted, they put me on a dip with some antibiotics and steroids and then the next day stuck a syringe down my throat to drain the abscess (that was fun....). Back home now recovering but not had a chance to do much painting lol hands are a bit shaken due to meds so there might be some wonky lines.

Car is looking great. Keep plugging away at it, and I’m sure it will get done and be as awesome as the rest of your conversions!

Hope you have a speedy recovery. Never fun to have health issues.

Thanks for the well wishes Nev

Trying to combine resting with a bit of painting every now and again. Will hopefully get most of it done but may miss out on some of the cool extras which would have been nice to have in there.

Eek! I literally had that exact problem once when I was a teenager. That was the most painful thing I personally ever experienced and I've had several broken bones in my life. Cheers to you for pulling through dude

MidgetcGems,

Loving the Dioramas, especially the Santorks. I can see why they won you 1st place, so much character and fun. The Delorean looks very promising too. Does Marty McOrk have his pockets hanging out and self inflating Nike’s? I couldn’t spot a pink hover board on the passenger side... sorry I just love the Back to the Future movies, the last thing you want with Quincey is more hobby work!

Hope you’re feeling back to normal soon and back on the hobby battle wagon!

I managed to get it mostly completed to meet the deadline of the end of the month but did have to cut a few corners, for the hover board I wanted to add a grot hanging on to the back of the DelORKean with a lovely pink hover board. there are a few things I'd like to go back and finish or add to this but here it is for the moment, pretty happy with how it turned out

The voting for this months entries is up here https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/772591.page lots of good stuff this month so have a look a vote for your favourites.

The DelORKean

I did the license plate, "OUTATIME" last, it seemed appropriate lol.

I'm glad you like it FlapJack and amazingturtles

Heres a little distraction for anyone interested.

I was able to get in at least 10 References to back to the future other than the car itself, see how many you can get, some aren't shown in the photos, yet
Spoiler:

1. " Welcome to Hill (Hell) valley sign, - Town where the film is set and the sign gets graffiti'ed after Biff takes over.
2. Clock time 1003 - Clock on the tower was at 1004 when the lightening struck and the car made its jump.
3. DMC - on the front of the Delorean but got covered up by the saws so put it on the cow catcher (DMC = DeLorean Motor Company)
4. The Grots dressed as Doc Brown
5. Flux Capacitor - Can only really be seen in photo 3 behind the seat
6. Speedo in front of the driver says 87 MPH - just before the jump at 88 you can't see it in the photos
7. Morky McFly's (the Driver) Hat is pearlescent multi colour - same as Marty's Hat from BTTF 2
8. Morky McFly's is also address to match Marty's Blue denim and red puff Jacket outfit.
9. License Plate says "OUTATIME" - same as film car - not shown in current photos
10. Sports Almanac 1950 - 2000 - Magazine that Biff gives to his younger self and then becomes a multi millionaire from betting.

Still to be added in at a later date.
Spoiler:

1. Grot holding on to the back on a Hoverboard
2. Cowboy Hat on the car somewhere
3. A "No Roads" Sign - "where were going we don't need roads"
4. Docs Letter from 1885
5. Guitar - To play John be good on
6. Capacitor Drive Sign
7. A remote control for the Car
8. Reference to 1.21 GigaWatts
9. Burnt Tire tracks for a successful Jump

Any I missed that you think should be in?

Great Scott!

Loving the delorean! Grot Brown in particular looks great. Some other really cool touches too, the only thing not listed that I could think of would be the yellow radiation helmet. The grot on the hover board will be a really great addition, can’t wait to see it. Ooh, another reference could be uncle joey, a grot in a play pen would be perfect!

Nailed it!

It's hard to make a good looking model out of a model / toy car. They usually turn out to look, well just that. A toy car.
You however managed to capture the look of a DeLorean and make it look like it was actually built or captured by an Ork. Brilliant!

Loving all the details.

Definitely. I was wondering how you were going to make it work as the pre-paint pictures looked intriguing. Final (or I suppose near-final if you add more!) looks awesome and definitely the best thing on this thread. Grot on a hoverboard would be awesome

Glad you all like it, thanks for the kind comments. You have convinced me that the grot on a hoover board is something that will be added

lol gobert, I had to look up the uncle joey reference and then I got it, nice idea

I know exactly what you mean with the toy car still looking like a toy car, they can look very out of place, I tired to strike a balance on this one and still make it recognisable as a Delorean and BTTF but put an Ork spin on it, otherwise I could have just used any car as a base and stuck loads of guns on it.

Hi all I had to take a small break from posting due being exceptionally busy at work and being away a lot over the last few weeks.

Now back to catching up with my older creations.

Ork Stegadon AA Gun

This was quite a fun conversion, I was away with work for a week on a training course so used the evenings to scratch build a set of AA Guns and mount them on a Lizardman Stegadon. The model was originally a Imperial Guard Catachan conversion with autoguns that I got off Ebay, I liked the idea but not the execution so I repurposed it for the Orks. I went for a Snakebite theme as it suited the mount and a giant quad set of AA guns because Orks. Unfortunately some of the photos turned out a bit dark.

@Flapjack, I think I did the scales with a base yellow then highlighted each scale edge which took ages, then Chestnut ink and finally a yellow highlight very light drybush. Glad you liked them.

Hi all

I'm afraid I've not had much time to post here or comment on others blogs. I've got a very big deadline looming at the end of June with work and its taking up most of my time, what time is left is spent with my family. Heres a quick post.

Ork Red Baron - Baron Von Orkhothen

I've wanted to do this conversion for quite some time, researching what parts to use and the background on the planes and Baron Von Richthofen from WW1 was part of the challenge of this entry but also very interesting. The model is made up of a Deffkopta Body (I have rather an embarrassing about of them but they are very useful for conversions) with some 1/48 Fokker Model bits and plasticard. The main body behind the Pilot is 1mm plasticard with rhinestones as rivets, the top piece is thinner plasticard that I bend to form a ridge. The engine mount is a tube cut in half for the top and bottom bits and some thicker plasticard (2mm?) for the side walls. Hope you enjoy it
