I'm probably going to get one of those Froghemoths soon. He looks like a solid proxy choice for a lot of big monsters like Great Unclean Ones or Colossal Squigs.

I'm from the future. The future of space

The minotaur sculpted by Jason Wiebe looks really good. Bobby Jackson's Ogres have been great and this minotaur looks to be in a similar style.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

That minotaur did look nice!

That does look plenty sharp in detail, but normal Bones was progressively better the larger the figure - want to see a couple of infantry models in Bones Black to really judge how well it's been done.

I'm pretty happy with the owlbear and troll, but want to see something with a sword since those tend to be the figures with lots of bending problems.

Oh hullo what's all this then?

Yeah nothing really for me to say, the cultists look nice but don't really make me squee, and the skeletons sure are skeletons, no one can say otherwise.

The goblin wizard is clever, and the halfling competent but I really just don't see anything that I would need to take home. A pretty dull release over-

I love this idea of rolling out the product gradually, not the least of which is because it lets them identify and correct any production errors likely to occur with black, and also to enable their sculptors to work out the limits of what the material can do. I do really hope we see some human sized models before the inevitable Blackstarter.

Putting product in your consumers hands, for free, before you try to sell it is an awesome strategy.

The KSer devliver has begun so we'll see how Bones black is for smaller figures soon enough.

Also they're starting with EU shipments first, looks like they're trying to rush to beat a potential No Deal Brexit which I think is the right thing to do. No telling how long that could end up delaying EU shipments if they don't finish before the deadline next week (and there's no extension).

Reaper thread on Bones Black. : http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/83709-bones-black-questions/&page=3

"I don't think it quite has the detail of metal or resin, but it is a LOT closer than regular Bones, and not a huge step down from metal. It took to a sharp Xacto readily. It was better with a file than regular Bones, but not as good as metal or resin. There were a lot of mold lines to deal with; about what I'd expect from a metal figure. The base concept is amazing, and I want to see all minis made with this concept in mind. However, the injection point could use work. It had some indents on the base, instead of pokey-outies. The owlbear could use some work on the mold/injection where feathers within the wing meet each other. Kinda looks slightly crusty in there. Not a lot but it is almost like it got taken out of the mold before it was fully cooled and pulled the corner. Not enough to really be an issue on painting, but it is an area of non-smoothness in an otherwise smooth area. A lot of folks probably like that he's preassembled, but if the pieces are well fit, I think it may be better to have him unassembled to send. It would make mold line removal easier, and reaching arm/wing-pits with a brush easier. Still, this is a huge improvement on Old Bones. Downside is that Sir Cyr really is not going to want to step on this one. Not Lego levels of pain yet, but it isn't going to be springy like Old Bones. Reaper's going to have a heck of a place on the market with beasties out of this stuff. Bones in general is affordable, but this is close to closing the gap between Old Bones and metal. I think a bunch of people will enjoy it when they didn't like Old Bones. " -- Cyradis

Summary of latest KS update : "That last container that's been causing grief is still making its slow-pokey way to them. The container has parts for three items - Tree of Despair, Baba Yaga's Hut, and I believe the Frost Giants - folks who've ordered those items are having the rest of their orders pulled and set aside to wait for the container, while everyone else is seeing their orders moved along normally. The last Kickstarter, they shut down their operations for a few days to focus on fulfilling the Kickstarter, and ended up regretting it: it's VERY bad for business, and this Kickstarter was something like 30% bigger and thus it's even more impossible to shut down again; so, this time, they're keeping operations open and doing the Kickstarter thing at the same time - the result is that fulfillment will run a little slower this Kickstarter than it did last time. Some of us may have some ideas about sneaky ways to get their orders shipped faster, such as canceling some items or paying extra to rush the orders, etc., and they want to assure us that, due to the complexity of fulfillment, there's no way those tricks will speed anything up (if for no other reason than trying to find your specific order among the vast number they're managing will be completely impractical) - so, things ship according to the schedule, and there's no way to pull strings to speed your order up." -- Thanks to Whateley

Bullet points with timestamps from the video:

• 1:36 - The UK, EU, Australia are pulled, on pallets and waiting for shipping containers to arrive
• 2:01 - EU, UK loading starts tomorrow, have Australia early next week
• 2:15 - in between those two starting to pull Canada
• 2:26 - April 8, start pulling US
• 2:40-3:12 - Explanation of warehouse issues and why they’re moving it across the street which makes a slight delay
• 3:44 - Monday, May 20 worse case delay
• 3:54-5:28 Explanation of why they can’t package up this Kickstarter like they did the last one and why the timeline is longer
• 5:32 - Unknown possible delay as there is still stuff missing: Tree of Dispair, Baba Yaga’s hut, and Frost Giant Raiders (talked about in previous updates)
• 6:13 - Explanation of why the next wave might start shipping but you don’t have your items from the previous wave because your order has one of those things and they don’t have it yet
• 7:07 - Explanation of why they can’t partial ship
• 8:02 - They don't have an exact timetable, just expectations that can change (such as Brexit)
• 9:05 - Two Canadian trucks going to Toronto and Calgary shippers
• 9:44 - They appreciate our patience
• 10:05 - Will do another update if something changes
• 10:20 - Video will be posted on Facebook and Youtube
• 10:32 - If you have questions email help@reapermini.com
• 10:36 - If you’re American, Canadian, central South America your window to change your address is closing
• 10:56 - It's too late to change your address if you’re in Europe

Know not of what you speak, do I.

Like I said, I like this figure - but then I pretty much had an idea for an NPC for a fantasy cops game I am planning, as soon as I saw him. (Danny Glover's voice may be involved.)

An orc priest that is old enough to remember the old ways, and wise enough to not miss them. (The city in the campaign is ridiculously integrated - the police captain is a beholder. And good at his job.)

I want the PCs to get to know him, get to like him... and then I will have him murdered.

The very first adventure has them dealing with orcs - when they get a report of orc and dwarf gangs in armor gathering for battle. The older cops not letting the rookies know that the same lady has made the same report every year for the past ten - the orcs and dwarfs are in armor, but have no weapons... moving a leather ball around a defined area may be involved. And neither all the orcs nor all the dwarfs are on the same team. (Steel Workers versus Meat Packers.... Plenty of each in both industries.)

This old guy is going to be the medic on hand.
