I lost a game of Turnip28 to almost that exact army just yesterday.

Next month we start this circus again on the annual March of the Space Marine, so no poll.

I have allready done my spacemarines last month...

Okay, so I painted something yesterday, hoping it would be a good surprise but it ended up surprising me with terrible primer and my matte spray not cooperating Ah well, it's a finished model at least.

As he is partially painted at this point, no. I do have the other two guys from the squad, but I’d have to finish the sarge in the next week to make room on the paintbench. They are a background project while I focus on other things and occasionally get back to them.

I’ll probably paint the relic shield captain from the indominus box. Maybe a pair of bladeguard vets to back him up. We’ll see how the mood and motivation strike.

But for another month remember we've only done Let’s Finish This! so far. We still have the option for Return Of Let’s Finish This!, Revenge Of Let’s Finish This! and Let’s Finish This! - The Reckoning. In that specific order, because that's how sequels work.

Added to the list of poll topics.

If I paint one centurion every 3 months I’ll have them done with time to spare by the end of the year. Slow and Purposeful is kinda their thing. But this is getting a bit off topic, as they are not going to be seen in the competition. If you want to poke fun at my workflow, my blog is over there <waves generally towards the P&M Blogs section>

SURPRISE!

- I think I have to eather drop out of this months competition, or ask for a little despense - really had trouble motivating myself to do the base,
because I was lacking a good idea for it.
Now I just started to do something/anything untill finally things beginn to get inspiring again,
but I am trying out new (to me) methods and just did the research - many layers need to be totally dry before I can move on to the next layer...

On Planet Armageddon,
whilst the second war between Humans and Orks,
the city of Hades is beeing besieged by the biggest Waaaaaghboss so far,
Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka, who is progressively getting discontent with the way things are going so far...so his Meks have been preparing
a big Surprise for him, or is it meant to be a surprise for the "Humis"?

The following dialog could be heard:
Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka: So, what is it you show me?
Mek Plonk: Oh big Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka - it be the biggest invention in history of Ork - it be the
"Dread Zeppelin"!
G.:What it do?
M.P.:It be up in the sky, so Orks can see enemie from far...
G.: We have Dakka Jet, Killa Koptas and Boom blasta Jets do that - what we need Big Bubbley Tingy for?
M.P.:Oh, "Dread Zeppelin" be sneaky - sneaky like Kommandos. Humis not see come till too late. See - it purple! Mek Plonk make Balloon with Gas,
Mek Jonzzz make Power Cell Engine for move forward, Mek Dox Bollox make biiig Snotblasta Lasar to blow Humis heads to pieces
and Mek Bonzo fix big Rockit Blasta on downside of Dread Zeppelin to crush walls.
G.:Gork and Mork speak to me - say is happy with efford!
Make giant Sign on sneaky surprise balloon, so everyone know Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka has best sneaky weapon!
Tomorrow we attack Hades with this! - Zodgrod Wordsnagga and his grots will have honor of going in Dread Zeppelin!

On the next day the biggest explosion, Armaggeddon had seen so far, lid up the athmosphere...surprisingley it didn`t come from the city...

Have Fun!

P.S.:The Grots where allready painted and are just onboard for size comparison....

I'll be needing this extension too, thought I'd have a bit more time this week. I'm going with a beastman this month as they have ambushing rules in Warhammer.

I didn't make it in time with the Ork car, but since the theme is "surprise" changing the model on the last day of the competition fits it well . There is a big annual plastic model exhibition in my area and I want to show my crane from the summer blockbuster competition. I made a crew and a base for it. Two workers are downloaded from Myminifactory, but I changed the woman's head for the one from Leagues of Votann infantry. She will be standing on the operator's platform of the crane and yelling at the guy on the ground

Good Luck everyone for the final round of this years league (and welcome to anyone entering for the first time )

I've surprised even myself with my entry this month (as I've got it in on time for once without a mad rush at the end of the month)

I started with this
Spoiler:

After a Bit of thought and stealing + chopping a left over xmas decoration got to this idea

Which finally lead to my finished entry

You have roughly 24 hours to wrap things up.

and a whole month to get started on your space marnie:

And while this year is not over until the last vote is cast, if you want to start looking back you can post your thoughts in the retrospective thread. It’s also the spot to post ideas for the new year, which is now underway.

Surprisingly I managed to get this mini finished, though it is very much only "three-colours-and-based".

The Iron Hands are not particularly known for using the element of surprise, but this one is in service to the Deathwatch, and nobody expects the Emperor's Inquisition!

Ok, managed to cram a last minute save here and do the varnishing alongside various basing bits to get over the finish line.

This was a weird one for me. I knew I wanted to paint this fella up as basically a ‘black’ creature… or at least very dark. I had also made the decision his fur would be very close to that of an aging grey wolf. In a nutshell, I wanted to lean heavily into an overall ‘werewolf’ theme and found the inspiration from the descriptions of werewolves modern eyewitnesses have given these last couple of decades. Apparently, they look pretty mean… and they’re mostly black and dark grey… mostly.

Many individuals who claim to have seen one talk of the almost ‘glowing’ amber eyes, so had to do those right too!

Obviously this kind of color scheme, or lack of color scheme really, was a bit challenging. How does one make dark greys/black interesting? Well, one basically starts throwing around all kinds of shades of greys tinted with browns and purples and blues not really knowing what one is actually doing until one reaches a point where they think… “I guess that looks ok”… and stops.

So here he is, behold..

Great work so far everyone! Unfortunately, my surprise is that I won't finish in time. These ladz are coming along nicely but there's still way too much to do on them before I could call them a finished entry. I'll probably finish them next week so that I have time to enter a new mini for March's competition.
