My advice.....force yourself to cut something, or glue something when you don't want to.

If you only do things that you are comfortable with, then you can never improve your skills beyond where they currently are.

You got me wrong, cutting and glueing always goes, no problem, I'm only talking about painting. I need to force myself to see a demanding paintjob through, especially if there is doubt about color choice etc.. Besides what improvement could there be beyond "godlike"?

Sooo...

@Neil: Thanks mate.

@Vik: Just remembered I still owe you a reply regarding the power armor. Does every power armor need the typical SM backpack? I'd say not at all. There are several examples of people in power armor who don't feature any type of backpack. Coteaz (master-crafted armor is just finer power armor), Tyrus (officially power armor, huge bulky armor plates, no visible power source) and so on.
Maybe they have more refined power sources, or they aren't meant to last as long in the field as space marine power armor. Maybe the SM have bigger back packs for their stimulant injection system and the advanced optical computing system etc..

Update:
I decided not to dive head on into a fresh paintjob, but rather grow up and push through Samarianne. Once I'm done with her I'll follow the plan and go for a quick paintjob on either Tiberius or Theoderich. I guess if I don't see it through soon I'll never get off my ass and paint her. And I don't want her to end up on the eternally postponed shelf. (No I do not actually have on of those.)
So apart from taking care of my sick significant other and the usual errants I've sat down with some pots of tea and painted Samariannes scope today. Done. Small by step...

hmmm... thanks for the postponed reply of my question... but it really doesnt completely answer it... tho i see your point... but i thought to myself more on terms of similar look and a similar function to go side by side... so i was wondering why minis dont have them ...and it is a matter with all inq miins i have known of that the lack the poerpacks... and this still bugs me in a way... i like a bit of stringent direction in terms of technological matter.... but that is jsut me i suppose... your idea about the extra need of space with the big poerpack tho is a good explenation... tho i doubt that GW has ever thought about it any lenght of time^^... also i just realized that i sound as if i am about to be in a nerd rage here^^

Pretty sure inquistors have access to better power armour than the SM?

Either way, SM backpacks are huge because they have a huuuuge battery life on, to keep maximum combat operativity for a good few days, maybe even weeks.

Inquisitors have their armour to be shaped beautifully (usually) concentrating on looks/ how imposing they are to the general public rather than functionality. As a consequence they usually have internal battery supplies in the armour, that last between a day and a week tops.

All that from the top of my head, completely forgotten what the sm/inq/dark heresy books say.

o... i have to sa that i never read any books of 40k stories for now... so if you all say that INQ pwerarmor is built that way... i think i have to live with that...

thanks baiyuan and vitruvian

I'd also say that sm power armor is elementary different. So astartes armor would have the same general design but very different technical stats, like a hummer and a mini cooper. Just like I think that bolters aren't all the same. An astartes bolter should be bigger and more powerful in my opinion.
