Yeah pretty much lol..

May get some accessory sprues but you can do better on the forward base at retail with a good sale.

And what amounts to 40 dollars for a battlezone of the long tiles is too much.

Oh man did that joke backfire.

But if you have extra Defense Line Sprue A's, I'll take some off your hands. I'd love to have a bunch of laser cannon.

Ah heck, I'll pay shipping for some of those Fortification Sprue B's, too. They look they'd make fine space cruisers with only a little work.

And some jetbike parts.

Yeah, add on Wednesday was pretty much a swing and a miss.

I don't get it. This whole campaign has left me scratching my head. Has it successfully funded? Sure.

Are Mantic satisfied with it? It feels very slow and plodding, whereas most of their campaigns are quite lively and offering up interesting things to keep pledges moving.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

I stand by the fact that they want this one to be sedate. They could drop plastic peacekeepers, enforcers and battlezones for individual addons if they wanted it to blow up. Heck, just open up everything from the first campaign.

There's some serious value, the box DZ game plus zombies and expansions is killer compared to walking into a store to buy it...

Quarantine is pretty solid... but yeah they really don't seem to want it to blow up.

That's whatever, more hard plastic for warpath, hopefully at bat-poop-insane prices too...

Still vacillating between 1 dollar, quarantine, and the 200 I pledged Initially.

I really don't know what this campaign is supposed to be anymore.

If this is a Deadzone KS, why so much focus on units of HIPS line infantry (and half on if in a faction that already has the most unit options by far) while specialists are few and made of expensive metal or resin?

If this is a Warpath KS, why even bother with specialists in metal or resin that will be prohibitively priced for the large quantities needed in Warpath?

I think this was all a bit sloppily planned by Mantic. It feels like it's being run by a different group of people, honestly.

If they really wanted to straddle some middle ground between DZ and Warpath, they should have opened with more HIPS and included some resin/restic/metal accessory packs to convert Deadzone specialists that do not appear in Warpath, like Medics, Snipers and Engineers. Instead, we get 15 rats with a total of 4 weapon options between them and the option to buy pricy metals to have at least some variety.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

People really need to cut the crap. Adding $500 just to take it away a couple grand after a goal does is no good. Combine that with a bit of unrest and then those 2-3 people that thought they were harmlessly manipulating the system initiated a 6 hr stall.

Better to make Mantic desperate and find a way to earn it.

I not even sure it was a swing. Folks have told them a few things they wanted, and there was little effort to deliver. It's like they forgot the bat......

I agree this campaign is really unfocused and not really what I expected. I don't think Mantic want it to be this slow I just dont think they planned it out as well as the first dz. I really hope we unlock a few more plastic kits( plague troopers?) but I've given up on more factions. At this point I'm mostly excited for rules polish and update. On that Note I don't think this was posted yet:

Mantic comments wrote:
RE: Force Organisation Basically it's a simply chart, say 5 slots. Let's say you play a 500 point game, around 15-20 miniatures a side. You decide to spend it on 4 slots, fielding a Leader, 2 "Squads" of Troopers, one slot including 2 Specialists and a Vehicle. You may spend some of those points on equipment or skills. That's 13 miniatures, one walker and some extras to use in game. These miniatures may all be invididuals, you may have 13 entirely different miniatures each with their own unique weapon. But how do you buy that at retail? At retail, you take this chart and off the shelf you pull a box of Enforcer Troopers, a box of Pathfinders. Both of these are 5 man hard plastic kits with tonnes of options. With the Force Org chart, you can use them all in your game. You might then pick a leader blister, or a booster with the remainder in. This is just an example of where the chart is there to help navigate the range easier for new people, and include all the things you purchase in a force. Two very important things. Purchasing single figures as per a traditional skirmish model is almost impossible with hard plastic miniatures. A couple of other things - firstly, in order to balance the different units, we'll probably introduce a little variation in the points values. To get a wider spread, we'll likely increase the points values of the games, whilst keeping the model count similar. Secondly, this system should be particularly handy for larger games and creating forces that exceed 20 miniatures, as they would in multi-mat games. And finally, we can do funky things to really emphasize the nature of the army. For example, the Veer-myn may have a larger range of slots as they are more of a horde army. Or, we can produce characterful leaders that fight in a particular way. For example, Sergeant Howlett is a very in-your-face Enforcer character, and so he might have a particular slant or bonuses if you include a squad of Assault Enforcers. That type of stuff. The exact system isn't written yet, and we welcome your feedback on it. We don't think it's restrictive at all - rather you keep the skirmish feel of the game as everything is still individual and unique, but it helps us introduce character, flavour and a simple system for navigating our range. Perhaps "Squad" is the wrong name for it, maybe it should be fire team or something like that.

Hey all,

There's an Adepticon Q&A with Ronnie about the Deadzone 2 KS campaign posted on youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWlroPS6HYc.

Apparently it has commentary regarding the future of cards in Deadzone at around the 18 minute mark.

My computer's sound isn't working; could anyone summarize what he says about that here?

I saw the Q&A mentioned in the comments it's worth remembering It was done 2 or 3 days after the KS launched when funding was still going good and the whole cards issue hadn't really come up yet.

Dropped my pledge down to the $35 pledge, and im not sure if I'll keep that, but its a good place holder till the pledge manager where I can pick up my vermyn army.
Definitely not found this ks to be as exciting as the other mantic ones, not really seen anything thats must have or amazing.

Plus theres no reason not to wait until pm for getting my stuff, hopefully after seeing some more finished stuff

I have an EB pledge, but am strongly considering dropping to the $35 pledge. I'm not all that impressed or interested in the rat guys. I can pick up a couple of jet bikes and a sprue or two of the humans more cheaply. The terrain looks okay, but I can always pick that up later (I still have a ton unused from the first KS). I do want a hard copy of the new rule book, but I'm wondering if $35 plus shipping is worth it or if I'll be able to pick it up cheaper later.

We'll see.

EDIT: I was also pretty disappointed they did not find a way to throw in one of the mouse pad mats into the Quarantine pledge. If I'm honest, that disappointment has really biased the rest of my thinking about this KS.

I'm OK with it for me, personally. I don't really want ONE red planet mat, but I'm not interested in buying FOUR either. So, saves me some shipping weight and hopefully cost on Quarantine. Paper mat can be easily stored for later use, if I feel like using it, ever. But yeah, adding it to strike team and the original starter box kind of sets up that expectation.

I'll probably keep quarantine and either fit in all of the add-ons I within 200 dollars and add nothing in subsequent pledge managers... or I'll make a short list for the manager and pledge for just quarantine now.

He sounds like he's saying he'd prefer stats be compiled in rosters that players take from stats they had provided in the game book.
He then says some yes-ish/no-ish on whether they would get rid of the cards and breaks off into event type stuff (ala Mars Attacks' Flaming Cows but more 'tactical', more 'strategic) cards for Deadzone.

In short, it's not really a solid answer on stat cards.

Weird thought normally the mantic ks thread is at the top of the list when I jump on dakka, for this ks is seems to be dropping off more than others. A sign perhaps that its just not that interesting. Not to say its a failure, but I was expecting much more this time around. In particular hips for each faction. Then again mantic ks normally explode in the last two days so its wait and see for me

I hope it doesn't "explode" -
I am happy with the quantity and quality of minis and would like Mantic to keep it reasonable so it will be delivered on time and without ridiculous packing errors

The new Lockdown pledge is a really good deal, save $55 on the cost of faction boosters (compared to quarantine + add-ons), and get deluxe mat and more terrain thrown in as well.

Well Lockdown seems to have done the job up about $5k since the update. Think I'll stick to double EB Quarantine for the extra Pathfinders, VeerMyn and Jetbikes that option gives. Plague Aberration should unlock in a few minutes.

If I can swap out the enforcer and plague boosters that I don't need and double up on chem thrower and beast boosters instead, it's something I'll probably do in the pledge manager. Can't afford $200 out of my pocket all at once this month.

How much shipping do they project the lockdown pledge to be?
