With your chosen steam-punk theme, smoke-stacks definitely needed on those packs.

Maybe just one if two seems too many.

Well, these will be rather smallish stacks I suppose.

that for definite... also as these are more fantasy looking model i need to figure out as to how to frilly up those stacks then... bare tubes wouldn´t look good i expect...

Just make those bent out crowns!

hm... might be tricky... or i do them with GS if PC fails...

What about parts from a pen or something? Just cut them to size and little notches into it to get the crowned fancy look.



Edit: Could even drawn inspiration from some of the packs some of the Warmachine characters have. Seeing as the vast majority have steam powered armour.


Though in some cases it's a bit small and fiddly.

Steampunk wise Warmachine is really brialliant. they even have a giant robot that could be used as a steampunk style warhound give me a sec and i will find a pic

I know Vik but that was 4 - 6 weeks ago so about 100 pages ago people tend to forget what was posted here.

Khador seems to be the most steam punk out of the lot though. even going as far as bolting soldiers into armour that has just as much chance to kill them as the enemy due to the heat of the internal boiler alone.

i say that's brilliant.

They don't fear them, they line up hoping to get the honour of being able to use the armour. Like space marines in that way.

Clunking along in metal suits simply because it was much easier than to make them robots like the other smaller jacks the other factions have.

I think the backpack looks fine as it is. You have already conveyed the steampunk look. Advise I have shared and have taken from other peoiple- less is sometimes more. The gun and the hat and the other bitz pull it off. I am not sure that having a backpack that looks like it weighs 150 kilos (and produces heat upwards of 100°C) would benefit the miniature overall.

Right!- Infantry need to be as lightweight and mobile as possible IMHO.

We are comparing apples to oranges here...all those Warmachine minis have a smokestack to power their POWER ARMOR, which means it is powered and therefore needs a portable power source.

LOL... fatty... yup... i had to watch the game... my wife wanted me to^^... so i was like... i do have to keep my eyes open... for me despite the results in goals it was pretty boring game... both teams seemed to be plying too much on the safe side and more like technical than emotional players... i don´t like that!

seems now your team might be in for a bit of trouble...is it still possible to get further for them? i know one game is still to play...


well skalk... you certainly have a point here... hmm... well i did attach a pipe to each backpack now... but that could be undone quite easy...

and dave... yup... i totally see your point... and in fact these are just counts as lasguns wielding steampunk looking cadian stand ins...so the stacks are not needed really... and if the look doesn´t really fit i think i will get rid of them...
but for the time being here is the current look... i did what dave had suggested...cut up a network cable and got one line of cable from that set... easy to get... now in abundance in stock and easy to work with... and dead cheap... what´s not to be liked about that^^ thanks dave for that hint!!!

if the stacks should stay i will be doing a bit of GS work on them... get the base done better and the crown thingy also...

thanks... the sniper is still a bit too much bended but i think when i am more comfortable feeling to re-shape it it will be good looking too...

lol... rivets will happen soon at least on the bases... the steamengines on the backpacks are to tiney for those i think...
