ill keep that in mind, but the work and sleep times are what get me, since I dont wake up till 2 pm on most days, especially weekends since I dont get home till 7 am from work.

It was a question of how the vehicle placement worked. Without having the rulebook with us, I didn't know if you moved or I did. If the DoG worked, then your imobalized vehicle is moved back off my squad, if it didn't work, then my squad is moved back off your vehicle. That's what I needed to check.

Also, you're right, if should have moved the men up earlier, but I didn't think you'd spend the whole game hiding like grots behind a building. At least the battlecannon had something to say about that tactic. Mwahahahahahahahahaha

Neither this nor the Adepti-con tournament are official GW events AFAIK, so I don't know if anyone cares about strict model requirements. I've seen some pretty amazing IG Vulture conversions, for example.

I'm the dude running this mini-Astro tournament at Meeplemart. At the time that I'm writing this we have 10 people signed up. Right now we only have plans for 6 tables, but I'm going to talk to the owner of Meeplemart this weekend to see if we can get a couple more.

As for every day 40k games, Meeplemart is a great place to place. I was a diehard GW player (eaton centre and then younge/lawrence) for years and the first time I went to Meeplemart I converted. I play all my games at MM now. The store, the owner, the guys that hang out there, the terrain and the prices are all just awesome. There's nothing better in Toronto!

I've been working hard to get the 40k community at the store to grow and I highly recommend coming down to check it out. Our 'unofficial' 40k day is on Sunday from 12-5. Feel free to send me a PM or email if you want to schedule a game ahead of time, but there is almost always is a few guys with 40k hanging out Sunday afternoons.

If you do drop in, ask for me (Mike) to say hi! I can introduce you to the group of guys.

(I also saw a few of you referring to Astronomi-con as Adepti-con. They are two very different things )

Oh! As for the original question about IA models;

As long as the model is modeled appropriately you can use it.

No bringing a stock Black Reach Dreadnought and claiming it's a Seige Dread or anything like that. But if you convert it up to look like the FW model then that's fair game.

If in doubt, shoot me an email.

And since neither my Tournament nor Astronomi-con are official GW events, non-GW models are fair game!

Excellent, I will definitely drop by on a Sunday to check out the group. I'm looking forward to having a community so close by! I can't make it this Sunday, but should be able to make Apr 1st.

tell us more about meeple mart, its close to a relative of mine and my best friends place so Im curious. which days plays what, is it more then just 40k, does it do cards or just models, etc.

Sure!

Meeplemart is currently open 4 days a week:

Tuesday & Thursday 5:00pm - 10:00pm
Saturday 11:00am - 5:00pm
Sunday 12:00pm - 5:00pm

Right now there isn't really offical set days on what games are played on what days, but Steve (the owner) is looking at setting that up soon.

Unofficially Thursday nights are board game meet ups and Sunday afternoon's is the 40k games. Saturday looks to be for more sci fi skirmish games like Infinity and Mercs. But really you can come down and play any game any time.

Meeplemart has the largest selection of terrain I've seen in a store, there is literally something for any game you can think of. He doesn't have that many pictures of his terrain online, but his gallery does have a few. I also did a blog post about my favourite table he has which is very Space Hulk inspired.

If there is a specific game you want to play you should email or ask Steve directly and he'll be able to set something up for you. If you're looking for someone to play a specific game with, he just launched his own community forum where you can post and ask for other players.

If you've never been in the store, they carry almost every miniature line and board game in publication. Everything you see on his online store is actually in-stock on the shelves in the shop.

The only type of game I don't see played there too often is the CCGs, but he does have a selection of various games in stock. I'm not a CCG player though so I can't tell you much about that.

You can read his FAQ for more info on the store or ask me any questions you want.

In absense of Rythem not being able to show up, I'll vouch for the Blood Angels. I already know what happens to his marines when the get shot by 200 lasgun blasts, but I've never seen what they can do to an orc horde after the orcs eat 200 lasgun blasts

Dark eldar are ready to bring poison and pain to all enemies. The Talos has been exercising lately and has been on strick diet. He should be ready to finally get into the action, instead of always waiting until turn 5 to enter the fray... moves 6 inches... game ends.

Hey kungfu... I re-read the rules and it appears that my vehicle would continue to finish its movement and your guys would move out of the way.... So I actually held one and contested one.... Right? Say it already..say it...I need to hear it... You issued run, run, run so many times, but your novice troops just never listened...chose to stay cozy on the hills...

I wasn't going to say this and just give you the win in the battle report, but according to the official erratta, you measure distance to friendly, enemy models, terrain, etc.. Just from the base... so the photographic evidence shows that you are not contesting. I want to say that you won, but legally I can't. You'll have to take it up with the lasguns on sunday.

Actually, I'm going to print off the official erratta, cause there's tons of questions that it gives yes/no answers to that we had in the game, for example there's an actual answer to if your wing on the fighter is really part of the hull. Answer is yes

I'll bring both armies and we'll go from there, we usually go 1500 per side but if it's just the 4 of us we could bump it up to 2k now that i can hit either with my ba or nids. As for this game you guys played, i say we set it up on the board when we get there and we can get a visual aid to this epic ending you guys keep talking about.

Sorry dark I gotta work til 12 so I probably won't be able to make it out this Sunday. If I did I wouldn't be there until 1ish, besides I gotta let you win some games against others before you get eaten by my long fangs and drop pod terminators again. Cant have your main guy being one hit splatted by a TH all the time it would become demoralizing after a while lol.

Kungfu: well that is just plain sucky... in short, you suck. Great game though. I want to inspect the photographic evidence... I think my base was likely still within 3 inches! And if the photo doesn't unequivocally show, then it was simply due to the poor overhead lighting!

JonST: No surprise the Space Wolves fear Legends... They will probably do better in a less daunting environment like Meeplemart(?) Legends is where 'legends' are made. The competition is fierce and the battles arduous. "Meeple" is translated into those little wooden dudes used in German games... The spacewolves probably do better in such a 'mart' like environment... while not legendary, they probably top the meeples in the 'war' hierarchy!

Well those wolves gotta find themselves a new challenge, and maybe german wooden peg dudes are gonna put up a better fight than a DE hero who goes and lies down after one little TH swing lol. I woulda come out to legends but lack the ability to get there and work til 12 so would not get there until later. Meeplemart was decent, it had only a few tables which were in use so I didnt stick around to try and get a game in. The selection of 40k stuff was amazing though, as good as any GW store and loads of other board games.

Ah, that was you hanging around my game with the Orks (it was Guis I was playing I think?)

I didn't know for sure if you were there to play or just watch. If you had said something I would have not played a 2nd game and let you play! Also, if we needed it Steve could have set up a 4th 40k table.

Well, we had another gread day at Legends. More tables available than people needed. We had 3 tables going with all out goodness. Today, I fielded Lelith Hekatrix as my HQ, and she was stellar! First game, I played Styrofoam... I can't remember the end result, but I think we tied?? (or did I lose?). However, more importantly, Lelith aided her wych squad in comfortably annhilating 3 space wolf squads to keep them off my objective. It was a great game. My second game ended in a win, turned tie in turn 6, against the Imperial Guards of MoreDakka. My dark lances sucked, but my wych squad actually put the haywire grenades to 3 tanks, which was very fun!
