Ok, if you all are jumping out of bed and not showering and then gaming for 6 hours in a small sweaty store...
...I think I'll give it a pass.

But seriously, I'm not getting up that early on the weekends unless it's for a tournament. It's not a matter of doing my hair - it's that I have a social life on Friday and Saturday evenings

Anyone up for a game this Sunday at Meeplemart at a more reasonable hour of say, 1pm?

I may not be able to make it on Sunday. Planning on seeing friends I haven't seen in months.

@Dark Eldar Elite: You gonna be around tomorrow? We could meet at Legends at 1:30, so I can drop off your models and get a game in. I too don't like getting out of bed early, plus I like to eat lunch at home to save money .

I will be playing Sunday as will a few others I think. Oh... Rythem, your trygon is in now if you want to pick it up.

Spender: i won't be around until later... Sorry... Bring your friends to legends Sunday... Nothing like smelly, early rising guys drinking Duff and playing games to make them feel welcome!

Strangle: everyone is kidding with you... There is a hygiene code of conduct at legends... If you change your mind, or your Saturday night social life deadens, let me know and I will gladly pick you up.

Actually you would be surprised how close it is, when you lie it down normal a rhino has a very similar footprint to a trygon, and when you put it verticle it has a similar height. But i will concede that the real thing is way better than the proxy, i'm building it as we speak

Hey Dark, I'm actually in luck today. Got everything done much earlier than expected and am going to head up to Legends shortly, so I can probably be there for 4:15ish.

That way we can definately get a 2000 point game in. I want to try out my new all comers list against the thrice accurst Xenos Scum that is th Dark Eldar.

Actually I'll have to rescind that offer: my Sunday just booked up!

BTW guys, the Trygon is a fantastic model, I really enjoyed assembling mine. Lots of individual bits to trim the flash from but that's true for any large kit. HOWEVER: careful when posing the upper talons, depending on how you plan to transport the model. I posed mine with the top talons quite raised/back, and now the model is several millimeters too tall for the "Trygon" spot in a battlefoam tray :( I can transport it lying down in a Landraider space, but it's not ideal. I would have modeled it differently had I known.

Lots of Nid players in this group! Hope to get some Nid-on-Nid matches in at some point, those are always interesting.

At this point i'm the only nid player at legends though Dark is getting closer to fielding his. As for the trygon i found it pretty easy to put together compared to the new terv/tyrano model, and i don't need to worry about fitting mine into a box cause i tend to magnitize the arms( to vary degrees of sucess) on my MC's. At this point trygon is built and primed, should be able to start painting tomorrow and be around 50% by sunday.

Plus nid on nid action just sounds like a lot of nom nom nom.....

Had an awesome game against kungfujew's IG. Waiting on artwork rule checks to see if I won, tied or lost. Please help... If an ind character is in a squad from the start, and the squad is now at 25% of its original number of models, including the ind character, can that squad hold my objective? Second - of I tank shock his gaurdsmen, putting my vehicle within 3 inches of his objective ( some last turn heroics), do I contest it? Thanks...

First anything within 3 inches of an objective unless immoblized/destroyed or falling back counts as contesting. But your skimmers can't tank shock unless you buy them the shock prow upgrade . As for his unit at 25% if it is falling back it can't hold or contest an objective, if it's not falling back than it's fine to do either.

What does an artwork rule check mean?? lol

Sweet!!!! So, if that is the case, I won the game. Yes, I had the shock prows on my Raiders because I knew I would be facing a tonne of infantry. So... just to clarify, I had 25% of my squad remaining, and it was NOT falling back... but 2 of the members were independent characters (does that change my percentage... i.e. do they still count as part of my 25% original?... and then, can that squad hold? If my squad can still hold, then I win. If the independent characters don't count towards the number in the squad, then I would be less than 25% of my original and I was told that less than 25%, even if not falling back, cannot hold an objective. If this squad cannot hold, then it is a Tie. Wow... so much happened on the last turn of the game. Thanks for you help Rythem.

As far as I know unless they are falling back it doesn't matter if its 25% or less. I had one marine capture an objective.

Ya, I checked, it's a rule from previous editions for squad size and holding objectives. I'm not sure where the 25 percent came from though as two different people told me that (one who is solid on rules and one who's less so), from two different gaming groups and in previous editions it was either >50 and then =>50. Although I did learn that independent characters joining a squad do not count towards squad size for moral tests. IE in a squad of 8 if you have 2ICs and take 2 casualties you still have to take a moral test. Also, with the tank shock, if the tank is immobalized during a death or glory, the tank is moved 1 inch away from enemy models. If the DoG fails then the tank stops where it lands and the enemy foot troops are moved. I'll start on the battle report tonight so you'll have to wait and see why all that is important.

Sounds like a close game!

I've done the same, I won a game because I have to objectives being held by a total of 3 marines. 2 on one and 1 on the other and had my Stormraven contesting a 3rd. Gotta love that last turn 24" move

Okay Kungfujew, it is sounding like I may have done well... but then you threw in the statement of waiting to see, because it is all important... makes me think that perhaps it didn't go my way. I didn't understand the death or glory thing you did and you just rolled and took your model away... did you succeed at the DoG? Is that what you are hinting at? We now know for sure that regardless of my independent characters, my squad, though at 25%, was holding my objective. Soooooooo....did I successfully contest yours or not??? I want to know NOW... I don't want to wait... gosh... it takes you almost 1 hour to set up your army and then about 35 minutes to move and run them all... if I wait for the battle report, I'll probably be old and gray! LOL I really wish the game had have ended at turn 5... turn 6 was where you killed my wych and homonculus, who were contesting your objective... Ahhh!!!

Definitely need a rematch, no matter which way it went. At least tell me I tied. I don't want a loss.

Hey Dark, if you're around sunday, which I think you are, do you want to hit up a 2 on 2? I'm going to try to do an ongoing tale of the 501rst Muskokans and our game ended in such a way that we need another one as a follow up. . But a doubles would be a better arc then a straight rematch. If anyone else wants to jump onboard then we can see what the better match-up would be, witch either IG/DE vs */* or IG/* vs DE/*. Also, are incubi particularly valueable in DE society? And what was you special character's name.

Incubi are VERY VALUABLE. They run 22 points each (If I recall correctly) and are Elite Close Combat Specialists. All carry power weapons and a 3+ armour save. They were led into battle by a Homonculus. My Incubi never saw battle on our gameday... they were a bit timid about walking across the field in the face of hundreds of guardsmen with feather-light trigger fingers. Yes... I had hoped that with such a huge swarm of men, you would have had the b*lls to actually bring some of them towards me and my objective earlier than turn 6! My one whych squad was glorious. First time I racked up 3 pain tokens with them. he he ..

Yes, I would love a 2 x 2. I find those games to be very fun. We will see if anyone else wants to join in. I don't think I can be on your team though... I want to shoot you... I fear that the recent battle woudl be too fresh in the minds of my piratical raiders... we could experience a breach of the truce. LOL

Oh, let me begin your 'tale of the 501st'... It was a dry, clear morning when the guardsmen began setting up on the hills... and it was almost midnight when they finalized their deployment! he he...

The commander of my army is Asdrubael Vect.
