Well PVC (polyvinyl chloride) used to be referred to as simply vinyl in the figure kit world
and would allow for some awesome details and NO MOLDLINES in large scale figures.
Also for the young ones out there - Music was once made out of vinyl.

I've included some pics and info for those interested
Spoiler:

This was achieved by electroforming the molds around the sculpt resulting in atomic level perfect single part molds.
With the vinyl being soft and hollow the pieces "popped" out one way. Some clever design on the parts breakdown would hide the joints on better kits.
Otherwise you still need to fill and murder the vinyl with a knife as it's just too soft for sanding in any satisfactory method. You are just better off removing
material and filling while sculpting missing details.

Below is Horizon's Hulk from early 90's I would think - It came in 6 parts - 2 arms, 2 legs (from the pants line and down), torso and "pants".

Here is a good size reference for what constitutes a "large scale model"... to me at least

Here you can also see Horizon's Terminator in 1/5 scale (Hulk is 1/6) both built up and unbuilt. Hulk is sadly not painted yet.

There are tons of supernice large scale figures in vinyl - granted a few of these are polystyrene, but you get the picture.

I love vinyl when we are truly talking large scale. I however feel that the scale and production method for small scale miniatures
in this material is simply not as forgiving as others when it comes to moldlines and fixing casting mistakes.
Hard lines are substantially softer imho compared to the master and it makes too big a difference in small scale.
I stil think it has it's uses, but I really don't get why the miniature industry is following in the footsteps of action figure
and toy production when they could go the electro forming way for the larger stuff and make some awesome dragons
and monsters. I mean NO MOLDLINES! That said I am not sure of the costs for that, but figure vinyl kits were roughly
$50 each late 90's before the recasting killed the business and the quantities were 5000 each for a few of them.

Anyone know what material the Twilight Knight will be in? PVC or resin?

See below:

Update #76 confirms this. "Just to be clear, the Twilight Knight Crossover will be produced in resin, so it will not impact plastic production or cause any additional delays."

Good grief, just dropped another $300 on this...

This is my most expensive Kickstarter to date.

Still waiting to hear whether or not I can up to a Survivor pledge from the base game.

Put in a ticket with the help desk more than a week ago. Would love to finalize everything one way or another.

I will definitely be grabbing the tree this time around. Too tempting to pass up.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Yeah got mine about 2 weeks ago now - but it was number 22 so it shipped fairly quickly - Customs held it up on the way - had to pay for this but the Pin Ups boxed got through without charge.

Hmm, I was hoping to have them by now. I haven't received a shipping notice so I was wondering. Thanks for the answers.

Did you get one of the first 500 numbered edition or the encore edition?

Only the first 500 have shipped. The encore edition will take time to cast up and ship out. The last update on twitter was that orders up to #5623 that do not include the Satan encore had shipped (that post is 2 weeks old now)

Hector Moran just posted a new thread in the painting and modeling section. I believe some of the images of the various KD:M accessories are new.

Right above you.

Also, I agree with greywulf- there are some new accessories pictured. Maybe the lion armor and a few other things are new too.

Do these additional figures scale up with the game?

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

I'm almost positive they do. They just don't have any rules for use within the game, at least for now.

It depends - most of the crossovers are scaled to fit the game they are release with not KD:M. I have the Hell dorado Twilight Knight (Keeper of Wisdom) here and the top of her head/hood doesn't even reach the shoulders of my KD Twilight Knight Pin Up (or the Satan twins) so she's totally unuseable in KD:M (in my opinion) I don't think many (if any) of the crossovers will scale well but they weren't meant to the WoK one is likely to be close though given the games scale. I got the various crossovers for the collectability side rather than actual use in KD:M.

Then there is this thing that happens in real life called genetic diversity which results in "slightly" different heights among other things... ;D
Spoiler:

I am more annoyed by different styles rather than "height" in a mini that clearly makes them look mismatched.
It's a real pain when trying to get the right characters for a diorama and you have to shop from different vendors to get just
what you need and then they just look off next to each other...

That Hell Dorado crossover did not really look like it would fit KD, but I don't remember what the resculpt looks like.

You can't use that photograph! One of them is in heels!

Also, I doubt the SDE Twilight Knight is going to scale to any other game. It's pretty apparent that they're intended to fit in stylistically with the game they're made for; not with KD:M.

Their heads are roughly the same size though, which is the main issue you run into when you mix scales and styles.

Just finally got mine today. So it must be quite a backlog - because I ordered when the encores first came up.

Quality not quite like I was expecting on them, kinda surprised.

My Satan arrived with what I assumed to be a broken staff, I emailed Adam about it two weeks ago.

Later on I saw some unboxing images of the model on BOLS which looked the same as mine, with the staff in two parts, so maybe it is supposed to be like this? Like me, the reviewer also assumed that the staff was broken in transit.

Adam completely ignored my email, so can anyone confirm that the staff should come in two pieces or if mine is indeed broken?

Yes the staff is in 2 parts I also thought it was broken but that's the design the top is separte

Thanks for the confirmation DaveC.

It's a shame that Mr Poots didn't respond to the email, especially after I have chucked so much money his way in the past, kickstarter included.
