I'd still prefer a version without the silly hair though :p

We don't have any rights to make a figure like that though, but a parody figure is just fine

Artemis, are you expecting a restock of red box any time soon?

TBH their decision to be political put me off ordering from them entirely. Why do businesses and celebrities think everyone gives a crap about their opinion?

Same reason as anyone else? And I would suggest you don't visit our facebook feeds

People seem to forget that political choices have a huge impact on businesses, and disproportionately on small businesses. Brexit not only meant we had to rework our entire next year business plan but screwed me personally as my wife is American and pays her american student loans in dollars. Trump will have economic impact acoss the world, his policies such as thsoe on climate change will affect my children and he's a reprehensible human being to boot.

People keeping quiet is generally ho bad things happen.

You misunderstand.. I'm all for you having an opinion. I hope everyone has one. The problem is, you are also the face of a business. If the American election has taught me anything, it's that professionalism is dying an agonizing death. That said, I think this is probably more of a philosophical debate where divergent opinions are going to persist regardless of the dialog.. and most importantly it's probably not appropriate for a N&R forum. Unless the rumor is that HF is running for public office.. which would be endlessly amusing.

EDIT: I meant to mention this but kept editing down what I was going to say for brevity. Many artists create personal accounts and professional accounts. I am also an artist and I don't typically look for work through Facebook (as an example) but that's where I have found at least a few projects and I had not really thought to do what I suggested for myself until just now that we're having this conversation. So if anything, my clients will benefit from this discourse... though they have largely been from Poland and other countries that seem to not care about our politics.

I think that expecting artists not to ever make political art, or to have publicly known political opinions, is about as sensible and likely as expecting cats to form a nice orderly queue. And avoiding buying from political artists pretty much cuts the number of interesting music you can listen to or novels you can read to zero... I wouldn't be surprised if something similar happens with minis.

Still, might be best to take it to the US Politics thread before this one becomes a War-zone.

Well, that's won't actually happen - at least, not for long.

However, having said that, yes, that's a good idea...

I'm actually in agreement about 'personal' things, for example you won't see me make more than the more vague or generalised comments on my personal life on FB or via any work source etc.

I think our disagreement was that I don't consider politics to be personal. I would post about the prices of tin or tax laws and politics regularly affects those.

If our prices go up or down based on exchange rates, and those exchange rates are directly affected by a political decision, then it's weird not to mention it. Once you mention it I find it weird to have to try and not give an opinion on it.

We're not a nameless, faceless organisation

For example, Brexit screwed me personally. If I was living a very balanced monetary life and needed extra pay to cover that and HF wasn't in a position to afford that I would have to get a new job, which would likely have meant HF being sold. (Thankfully I didn't need a pay rise or anything, I'm just annoyed by it).

I don't think it's reasonable to expect us to not mention that we aren't too happy about something that could have meant the end of the business.

Politics isn't like religion or your favourite football team, it's directly linked to economics and business.

IIRC Hasslefree is planning to be even handed with a woman in a Mao suit coming too.

If they'd hit at the same time it might not seem as political.

Could be a chance to do a "Tyrants of Future History" with popular culture character parodies.

There has to be a market of a Margaret Thatcher-esqe Gynoid with giant mechanical crushing hands. Maybe a under-dressed and Gormless Swimmer with a love of onions to represent the Australians...

We have a new 'empire' to add to our sci-fi line, mostly by sculptors who aren't Kev. They might include some extra parody figures, so you never know what will show up

We're likely to run a KS to launch the line, as it's not by Kev it doesn't affect his work on the recent one we ran.

"Do not, my friends, become addicted to twitter.... it will take hold of you, and you will resent its absence!"

Edit: Yes, it's an old WIP. But it stalled ages ago, so I've taken off the bits I didn't like and started again.

Looking forward to getting the 'political' pieces, I have a Dune project in the works and I think the baron is ace.

I also have an early 90s Games Workshop Chaos harpy that looks an awful lot like Reagan... I believe they did a Thatcher as well?

I hope they do a female pirate in 28mm rather than 40mm, I'd like to use one as the basis for a Rogue Trader.

Not a fan of either of these beautiful Rogue Trader/=][= bait models?

Spoiler:

I love both of them.

They are both very nice minis, but I am looking for something that fits more of the pirate archetype visually. The first mini suggested looks more like a hired gun or mercenary, while the second looks more like an Inquisitor or Witch Hunter

Regular pirates don't sell as well for us sorry. We missed the boat when Seventh Sea was a big KS, maybe that would have been an opportunity.

The 40mm one is a private project for someone else, we will likely end up selling a variant but it'll still be 40mm though

Evil genius and criminal mastermind Dr Evelyn Hill. Seen here with her pet, and unwitting confidant, Chairman Meow.

Edit: 31 mm to the top of her hair. Probably a sniff under 29mm to the top of her head.

Tempted, but I think I'll wait (till I paint the dozen I ordered a year ago) I mean till the baron comes out.

I am almost squirming out of my skin for their modern trooper bits to be restocked. I have a USAriadna force of Grunts that are all waiting for Mongrel heads.

I am consoling myself with painting all my current Haqq models but they are shrinking quickly.

Question for people with experience with metal Hasslefree miniatures, do you recommend pinning? I picked up Haleth and Dynamic Ulfred to paint up and stick on a Secret Miniatures base as a gift to a friend and Ulfred's arms are separate pieces with smooth flat joins. I'm tempted to just superglue them on so I don't have to worry about the pins being dead center but I don't want them to fall off later. They won't be used for gaming so they won't be handled much.

I've scratched up the flat joins but never needed to pin any of my Hasslefree minis. That said I have mainly had their "regular sized" miniatures, not their bigger models. Not-Conan is probably the largest one I have bought.

Hopes that helps.

I'd say some cross hatching / roughing up the surface would be the effort if you don't want to pin, i's easy enough and won't hurt.
