Something about the right upper arm seems off in the top left pic, It's maybe too flat on the inside? but overall amazing work Storag!

He looks good. Nice sculpting.

Only thing I can add is to ask, is his Bo a little too short? I assume it is that short in the new cartoon, because irl most are taller than the user.

Sure thing mate, when I have time

Those Bo-staffs come in lengths from 0,9m up to 2,7m. This one is 25mm which should be around 1,6m real life. Given that Donny's height is 1,76m (28mm in my sculpt if he'd stand tall) according to the wiki and he carries it on his back, it's as long as it could be

Hi guys, sorry for being quiet for some time but rl matters are pushing hard on me lately due to some major changes I must make to concentrate on miniatures as main trade.
As you may heard from Ish, we received some casted items lately. Can't say my part was as lucky as his =/ the Aztec torsos are quite messy and a logo shoulder misses one finger. More over, while the torso was away I made legs a bit bigger and that torso no longer fits, so I now have to enlarge it, by up-sculpting missing volume and reworking details...
Anyway, I brought some picks, already outdated a bit, but showing most of the final leg details as well as the new torso to legs ratio. The head and torso base on the pics are those casts we got.

As always, some clarifications on the ornaments; reptile skin decor on hips, stylized skulls on knee pads and snakes crawling upwards inside those skulls. This is "coatl pattern" armor for librarians, so symbols of death (skulls) and wisdom(snakes) are appropriate. As you can see I used completely different underlay pattern, more like muscle fiber to step away from rusty GW designs from 80's.

Cya soon folks.

You have excelled yourself on those legs, love the iconography really capturing that Aztec vibe perfectly.
I love the fact you have altered the usual GW styling for underlay, the muscle texture is more fitting to the design and structure of the rest of the miniature.

It's really strange as one I ain't a SM fan normally and two hate the fact they are always brightly coloured, however I am really loving the characteristics of this miniature and see bright greens, red, yellows, blues and of course gold all over it.

Strange how you can alter your view quite radically over one creation, however it is coming together fantastically now I am wondering how the arms will be posed and what the detail layout will consist of ?

Either way I am here for the journey

Thanks guys!

I'm going to work on him today a bit, meanwhile I have a pic of Eagle pattern helm casts for Aztec SM project. Some minor changes since the last time I showed it, the biggest one is the breather section. It looks somehow cooler that way imo.

Cheers!

Thanks pals!
Not much in terms of news to tell. We both are now chin-deep at work: sculpting, painting and doing some unexciting things like registring company, making online shop design, promoting ourselves etc. And that's excluding day-to-day routine...

As for my part of modelling; I'm slowly doing Aztec legs and torso and I figured that some of the old Synapse designs, as much as I like them, are too controversial for commercial release. So I'm reworking legs and shoulders from scratch and polishing other items.

BTW the Turtle guy from the first casts are polished and with some fixes to part joints I'll deem him finished.

Cheers!

WOW!!!! He looks great I must resist though he fits into none of my formats and this hobby is to expensive all ready, but he would make a nice painting project …. no dam you no.

I see your point as to the general release of the Synapse don't want issues before you start well I will be watching this closely and wish you guys all the luck in the future and sure I will be sending some of my hard earned cash your way

That Turtle is nice though ……...

The way the turtle is casted offers in my opinion opportunities to make the whole squad without too much fuss...maybe I should ask my wife what I get for birthday...did you get ontop of the PayPal issue?

I surely could make "conversions" from this guy's parts, but that would kill the Nickelodeon idea of them being visually different, and that's not my way when I'll do it, I'll do it right, with body types, head shapes, garments and posing befitting their prototypes.

Hi guys! Checking in to show that I'm alive and sculpting

I'm currently working on so many things simultaneously, trying to pull my old projects out and to a new level. Perfecting master models for a commertial HD resin cast quality is a total pain but we all want smooth surfaces, straight edges and such, do we? That's taking three times the time usual conversion level work does Exploring your work under the magnifying glass is kinda annoying But without that it'll be a mess in resin...

Speaking of older stuff, I brought a very wip pic of new Synapse leg/boots concept. It's only basic shapes but should be enough to get the idea. I'm keeping the old movement enhancing theme but on a new, more understandable and straight design level.

Besides that I almost done the first pair of hands with "pulse-lancer" the recived lots of upgrades too. And I'm doing the completely new shoulderguard version from scratch.

And a bit of sad thing... I thought that I can put my old Nelf conversion to the repurposing contest and I made some improvements but I don't really have time for this right now =( so I have to put it aside AGAIN =( for some better times... updated pic included.

Cheers lads!

I remember seeing that Nelf conversion before, great to reuse lost projects and miniatures bring new life to old forgotten miniatures

Screw GW stick to your own miniature range, the new arms look more usable than the Tau versions and the shoulder/ wrist details spot on and 5 fingers sweet

Loving the alternative shoulder pad even if it looks bulky it still works, almost has an eastern appeal to it got an idea for these

Now the Torso ROCKS !!!!!!!! THAT IS AWESOME, the detail has got me drooling I thought these were going to be cool looking miniatures now they are going to be fething awesome

P.S. once you have all four turtles then I would be tempted, but don't do them till you finish these guys first
