Still on that matter, it's almost been two weeks, and all I have to show for is stuff being glued to the back of the beast :

Started on something else. I salvaged the plastic wrappings of a egg shaped kid toy glued it, and filled it with expanding foam. I am now wiring a corpse to it, in order to build something inspired by MonkeyTroll's hierarchs.

Wow, almost twenty days without an update, the dark gods will not be pleased !

Anyway, attaching stuff to that stump is a tedious work indeed, but I am slowly making progress, here is the current look of the beast :

Did some work on the temple tonight, adding some niches and part of an audy for the roof. Also started glueing some wires together, that will come toughen up the pillars.

Worked on the chaos temple today, plaster, and hot glue guns to add wires to the thing

Not my Audi ^^, I just have a condition (as many people here I suspect) that makes me pick up and store most of the plastic bits I encounter (it was on the sidewalk mind you, not on someone's Audi). Now I also have a hubcap of the wife's Dacia, that should soon be made into a dreadclaw, but that is another story....

That big gribbly beastly reminds me of the big nasty things from Princess Mononoke.

The terrain is coming together very nicely for a daemon worldscape KT! Also, that ascended magos looks like it's going to be good! Definately be scary seeing that down range as a guardsman, though I think a squadron of gunships should handle it...

Thanks genom.cor ! Hahahah, yeah even him should not venture where an airstike can reach him, misses some ground to air defenses, should have thought about that ^^. Definitely see a cloverfield like battle between it and a few Valkyries. Lore wise, this thing should be of the sneaky type though, I can imagine him popping unexpected on the outside of an imperial spaceship though... Knock knock, guess who the warp brought ?

The expanding foam has filled most od the recesses nicely, and was ready for cleaning.



After that, is was time to start applying some texture with the usual pva/dirt/water mix, in order to tie all the pieces together :

Also applied a quick drubrush to have a first look at the textures and surfaces.

Your stuff is incredible! That chaos temple is so dark, so inspired, so gothic and yet so sci-fi.... Like something HR Giger might dream up. Fantastic work!

Thanks a lot tinfoil, mentioning Giger is one of the highest praise I can think of ! Means a lot coming from you, The Harrowed has been one of the blogs that got me back into the hobby back in 2015 !

Getting close to finishing the temple, added around a hundred faces on the main arches, base paints and washes applied, only some details and highlight to do and that will be it :

That wash really brought out the Giger Tin was talking about, that sick brown-green black tone, especially with all those faces. Great progress Kernel.

Not sure what size a giant spawn is, but I feel this would be a bit big, it sits on a custom base, and in terms of size, sits between a knigt and a warhound I'd say ^^. So probably no matched up play for this dude I'm affraid.

But thinking about what genom.cor said earlier, I think I'd love to field it against a bunch of imperial chopper-style fliers in a densely built area ^^ !

That is incredible KernelTerror! The giant beast looks so good, and the paintjob pulls it together beautifully. You've really outdone yourself IMO.
