@moonpie: 465?? Thats around Indy, isn't it? Thats about 400 miles from where I live!
Hobbytown USA are amazing stores though... Used to have one not 10 mins from here, but it has since closed up shop, leaving the area very hobby-barren. I think the closest one I know of is in Columbus!

@Nerd: Hmmm.... maybe. I think im gonna roll with this chain for now, then upgrade at a later time when i have more time to faff about the details.
If WM and me go with a future Adepticon plan (and I mean like a year or two away, at least), Ill definitely have need of some small chain... (and big ones too!)
If you havent shot off the Mud yet, definitely go ahead and throw a little bit of it in there. I can definitely find a use for it in my conversions
Todays Progress:
The Termis got oil washed, and are looking much more like Red Scorpions.
And I knocked out something of a simple base for the Juggerlord. Its going to be painted with the black and white marble tiles like on my flyer base last year. With this, I think hes almost ready to get paint on him.
I also spent a bit of time messing around with a custom helmet for a marine, possibly for use on the lord.
A bit rough yet, but its close to the idea I had in mind.... Thoughts?

What about it aren't you liking, WM? The whole plan? Something I need to add/take away? My pitiful skills at sculpting? Trying to get some feedback so I can judge what to do next
I kinda do want to do something special for the head on the lord... I remember there used to be a desert-themed SM painter on here who did a lot of the customizations (had wire "handles" on the one shoulder instead of heraldry). If I could mimic even a fraction of what he did, id be happy.
Really wish I was a better sculptor!
In related hobby news, I broke out the Marines Errant from their foamy hibernation, and started popping arms off. Hopefully this'll save me a lot of time. Already im seeing Ill need to play with the gun arm positions on most of them ><

I get the concept, but I don't think the sensor looks right. I know youre not a big fan, but check out the Halo 4 helmets, maybe some inspiration to be had there. The GUNGNIR and Locus seem the closest to what you are trying for, but there are other good choices there too.

You better watch out. I'm a killer fist shaker, making me an excellent nemesis. Though, I can get down with outlandish conversions-you just haven't seen my Space Wolves. The terminator with antlers and a crucified person on his back come to mind.

What is the armament supposed to be on that Termie squad? Now that I see where you are going with changing the armament, I am digging it. The scythes are just sooo Death Guard it is distracting.
The pink army always wins. You beat the pink army? Go ahead and brag about it. You lost to the pink army? Well, then....
They are Grey Knight Termis. The scythes are Halberds, the chem laucher things are the storm bolters. The thunderhammer and psycannon are, well, you get it. I thought some converted Death Guard worked better as Red Scorpions then grey Grey Knights, ya know?

@nerd: EXACTLY! Those are the ones I was thinking of! I just love the sculpting he did. most of the helmets are really subtle changes but they look exceptional.
@WM: I can see what you mean about the sensor looking off... i think its still too large yet, and sticks out more than youd think it should. I think im gonna primer it and see what it looks like while I mess around with more sculpting.
And Halo is an OK game. Ill still play (and suck at it) when the opportunity arises. Really FPS games just kinda merge into one with a few rare exceptions.. Though im a gamer who plays for an experience, not to win (at least all the time ) Im much more of the RPG and strategy gamer. Much of the reason Im more of a Playstation and Nintendo guy.
Gotta say though.... that last helmet is just -awful- Who thought that was a good idea!?
Today got more painting done (and Im still going, too.... just one of those days of inspiration, I guess).
Termis all got metal and black areas blocked out in black, and their power weapons got airbrushed. i decided to treat them as single-edged weapons (like axes) and so painted them with the gradient parallel to the blade. They will be getting a fine line of dark purple running along the back of the blade, and a brighter pink along the blade edge. Typhon on the other hand got a double bladed weapon, so his will only be getting the lighter color.
The Moderatii got their red jumpsuits...
... and the Tech Priest got his robe painted.

I'm still rockin the 360. The xbox one is sweet and all but it doesnt do enough nor is there anything I can't get for the 360 to warrant me dropping 500 bucks yet. When either the price comes down or an xbox one exclusive game comes out that I must have, I'll keep my 360's.

One day I gotta pick up a 360, so long as its ultra cheap. I have a lone 360 game I got years ago, and wouldnt mind putting a few more hours in on it. Plus for all the gak I put it through, Halo Reach was still pretty fun to play.
Anyways! Paint progress! Termis got more colors, including their silver.

So a late update today.
Thought i could do a final push forward and get everything done, but I cant gloss coat cause its so late! Ah well... Finished pics tomorrow on the Termis and such!
For now, I leave you with two things.
Firstly, A shot of the marines in my Adepticon army as it currently stands (give or take a few extras). This saves me a good bit of painting, as most of them are gonna be single arm swaps!
And secondly, a surprise.

OK so it turned out I had a lot more to paint on the Termis than I thought! (good thing i didnt varnish em, then). I hadnt even hit the gray with an edge highlight!
Anyways, here they are, and with this, WMs army is officially 100% complete! *confetti*
Well, almost. We made a last minute decision to do an arm swap for the Psycannon guy. The extant arm just wasnt looking right! Other than that though, the sixth dude is all done!
And of course, a few close ups.
Also complete are the Moderatii and the Techpriest!
WHEW!
Well I'm definitely breaking some of my past records... I've never painted this hard and fast. I think im starting to see smoke coming from my brush...
Good news is (other then the arm, which should be there tomorrow or the next day), the Red Scorpions are done. Just some arms and shields, your HQ and Dragons, and you are good to go too. And the Sky Shields. And the Bug.....
