I shudder a little bit as well, but re-reading through the series I had forgotten about Cassidy saying "Gewd demmit" in book 2.
That alone will be worth watching.

What I am most enjoying about the Secret Wars stuff is that it is just temporary for the most part.
This way they can do some crazy stuff and people don't really get mad.
It is a lot of "Oh, that is an interesting take on that character. I wonder what they are going to do next?"

This was on there too:

A nice quote from it:
(Once the Terminators start building spaceships with giant skulls on them)
It’s amazing — especially the implication that Terminators are exactly as into the skull motif as the people who design characters for Warhammer 40,000

Maybe I'm wrong, but I get the feeling that Rick isn't eager for a scrap with the Whisperers (nor should he be). But will the Alexandrians force his hand?
It seems like leadership has been a running theme since the very beginning of the post-All Out War arc. These communities are evolving to a point at which they have to start thinking about succession and government instead of dictatorships. And both Rick and Maggie have shown flashes that make you wonder if they aren't just a little bit corrupted at this point.
I'm not sure WHY Rick would need Negan's help, unless we're talking about a revolt at Sanctuary and Negan's needed to straighten out his old crew. But I do know this -- Negan is a charismatic guy, and not someone you should give an opening. What if the Alexandrians get disenchanted with Rick and decide that Negan is the right guy to lead their retaliation versus the Whisperers?

After thinking about it I think you're right. Kirkman will throw the curveball of Rick saying they shouldn't retaliate (he's seen the zombie heat Alpha's packing) but the people will demand vengeance. Which is why you're also right about how Negan will get involved as the "hawks" free him to get a more militant leader. The people demand more Negan! Automatically Appended Next Post: So anybody read Invicible? That Robot, I'll tell you what. Quite the pickle the heroes have found themselves in.
In a way it's kind of like The Watchmen except what Robot brings to the table is a lot more convincing that what Ozy did. He's a better character too. Invincible has even pulled a Dr. Manhattan style "I don't want to live on this planet anymore."
Or is that called pulling a Farnsworth?
But who's gonna fill in for this guy?

The really interesting thing is that Alpha's words to Rick about protecting her daughter suggests that she may not be much of an "alpha" after all...that their philosophy/lifestyle/society/whatever is a bit of a runaway train and she's only barely steering it. For the first time, could we be seeing a character in the comic inspired by one from the TV series (Dawn from the hospital)?
We also may see parallels to this develop in Alexandria as you suggest. Because really...what can Rick do if there's a general uprising sparked by the Whisperer's massacre of Alexandrians?
We've seen plenty of dictatorships (good and bad) in the series, and now I think Kirkman may be exploring what comes after dictatorships, including the dangers of mob rule.

There was already a bit of that when a Mob (of sorts) decided to kill Andrea but in turn their 'leader' himself was executed instead...

I guess I hadn't thought of that either. I just assumed Alpha's.....almost pro-rape views were just an obvious attempt to bulk up her evil street creed. I hadn't considered that those may be her "views" because they have to be. That essentially that has to be her world view for her to survive mentally because reality has taken away any kind of choice on that. In other word she's just putting on a brave face or tough guy act.
Or maybe she just is cartoonishly evil. Time will tell I suppose.

Hey, I just finished Convergence, and something major stands out at me.
Even though Silver Age Superman cameo-ed several times throughout the story, he was not involved in the climactic battle and never appeared truly relevant. This confused me, as Silver Age Superman should have been easily the most powerful being on the planet, or at the very least a major participant.
Have I missed something? Was this Supes somehow removed from the game?

Out of curiosity, has DC ever made a comic series, or story arc that fully explains Alfred? I mean, we kind of know he has a bit of a "black ops" back ground from the cartoons, as well as a bit in Gotham and a couple movies.... but I want to know more.

Alfred's backstory has varied pretty heavily over the years. He's been a retired spy, soldier, actor, and just a lifelong butler. Post IC he was a retired spy/soldier who became an actor then a butler.
