Too expensive....Though I have guite a few DkoK in my IG army.

Join the Imperial Guard. The pay's lousy, the battles fierce and you probably won't ever come back again. BUT you get a lasgun.

Well for the people who bother with FW at all, price is rarely an issue.

97 pounds for a space marine?

1000 pounds for a manta?

50 pounds for a knarloc (admittedly the knarloc isn't so expensive, I just don't have all that much money) *sheepish grin*

looked through the thread and i have never seen so many box's of unmade models in my life. but anyway. ive got some apoc stuff and im working on other things now. but yea

this is a scratch built sguiggoth,i made it as tbh i think £70 for something that costs at most 60-70 points is actually redonculas.

pretty standard stompa

deff dread, i know its not strictly apoc, but it has a kustom force feild so i can use the dread mob formation

and yea finally i have a tryanofex for my nids, and i know thats not strictly apoc. BUT im planning on haveing 3+ of them adding up to around 700-800 points

thanks for looking

Nice, nothing like Afrika-esque Orks riding Elephants, with giant nids with even gianter cannons on their backs.

If I had a dollar for every dollar I spent I'd have all my money back.

My first post on this forum and thought I would share my Steel Legion Army. It's up to just over 6.5k now with most of it painted. (I've added a little bit since this photo was taken) I'm yet to finish painting my Fortress of Arrogance though.

Tables full of unpainted models and stacks of boxes aren't really that impressive.

The fully painted armies are really the only ones that belong in this thread... and kudos to them! Some stunningly awesome and awe inspiring forces!

wow that is a lot of guard! really impresive

Automatically Appended Next Post:
i saw the imperial army above and was "inspired" to do one with my orks. i have less points then 6.5 but im getting there.

there are loads of converted and scratch built things, and just a note i only just got the black reach stuff (3 days ago) so thats why none of that is painted. still a fair way to go though. most of the builds and progress is on my ork project blog...(nice plug there )

Most apoc games at my GWS have loads of people so we all just bring normal sized armies and put them together but perhaps one day ill be able to have such an army.

Oh my is it just me or is it everytime I see boxes upon boxes of plastic crack my heart just melts.

It's too bad the Fantasy version of this thread didn't hold up (or really even start) as the look of massive Fantasy armies is truly inspiring! Plus I have my own little collection of Chaos going

I look forward to someday being able to post pics. I'm trying, as I'm finally settled down and won't be moving house anymore, to get in a regular painting groove and build/paint up a 16 year backlog of minis, including 17 40K armies, three WFB armies, a bunch of Dreamforge Games stuff from the kickstarter, and a buttload of terrain and scenery. Not every army will qualify to go in the Apoc thread here, although if y'all wait long enough, I'll be able to come through with the DKoK army that was requested. In fact, I'm eyeballing moving them up the queue a bit, since I currently list 'nids ahead of them, and I still don't know what the heck I'm going to do about that gorgeous Heirophant's flimsy legs.

Wow this thread is horrible-you guys posting piles of unopened boxes or a table full of bare plastic should be ashamed, if its not painted its not a mini just a lump of plastic, for some of these pictures you may as well have posted a pic of a GW store or a pile of money.

I'll play. Most folks in the club don't play 40k anymore, but we do like a Grimdark-Mega-Battle once in a while so we use the Warpath 1.0 rules with our homebrew rules for war machines. Gives a big massive game in a fraction of the time. Even with our mega battles however, we don't put a single unpainted mini on the table.

Here's our most recent battle. which also has our superheavy rules http://chicagoskirmish.blogspot.com/2014/12/its-my-birthday-and-ill-play-warpath-if.html
Not the largest battle ever, but this one had around 13-14,000 points on the table.
A few pics from the battle.

Bigger battles are possible so we'll probably up the points next time. One of our members is a 40k maniac and is -to put it lightly- prolific…

This is just last year's output.
