The bright colours makes them look like they have just jumped out the comic itself which I have to say I LOVE

I cant believe the amount stuff you hoard especially when you think you live on a boat well it all looks pretty dam cool and I love the fact you pick out old stuff and rework it.

Once again did not see what I was expecting to but enjoyed what I did immensely, I think it is almost time to revisit the dastardly muttley project again

Dr H - Nah. he ain't the paranoid type, he's ice-cool. But that's because he does believe he's invisible and the judge can't see him

Any ideas for sign slogans? I need to re-read some of the fatty stories for ideas myself.

Yay, big up the Humbrol enamels

Oh, I see, of course he's invisible...lol

I've just had a flick through my few 2000AD comics, which even included a fatty story. But could I find a single slogan or sign, could I !
Although, I did get a couple of ideas. "I am not a sheep" or something obvious about food / grub, or "love the belli-wheel".

The other thing; I came across a Dredd story (http://www.comicvine.com/2000ad-prog-893/37-126118/) with robot judges which were much taller than Dredd et al. I thought that, with a bit of GS, you could turn those old "too tall" Dredd figures into robot judges.

ldd - Well, that was part of the plan

It's not hoarding Oh no siree. No, you see, what it actually is...... well it's err... it's like this you see...now...umm..what it is, is, it's hoarding. Yep, it's hoarding all right

You're still expecting to see continuity in the work shown here I'll leave it to vik to pull up a Spanish Inquisition hit, I know he has a stash ready to hand

Dr H - And those very same paints would still be usable if I dug 'em out of my folk's garage That's proppa old-skool

Yeah, he's probably not be completely honest when he claims it's just for pain relief

I re-read Case File 6 last night - that had the League of Fatties storyline in So now I definitely want more fatties so I can put together a League gang And I'd forgotten about their food troughs too, have to work in some of them. (See ldd - it's just the whole mega-city thing that gets me excited )

Was that the mechanismo? Mongoose are releasing those too. But my issue was the other way round, it's the old GW minis that are tiny - a whole gang of juve jimps is the only use I'll get out of those here. Hmm, unless it involved a diorama using forced perspective...think I still have some 15mm judges somewhere too....

shaso - Indeed

weety - I'm thinking so too, but I'll wait till the rest is finished before yay or nay time. Bugger, forgot the belly-wheel shot - I'll grab one with the next bunch.

ldd - Belly-wheel lad, belly-wheel!

weety - Hopefully they're not close to a tonne yet though

Bits and bobs done, a couple of which I might show you if you're lucky. Ohh, you're unlucky, I'll show you some other stuff then...

There's a huge variety of transport available in MC-1, including the ever popular retro-styled hovercar.

Should have left it all blue, the silver sides are rough as after many coats, didn't take well at all to the blue below. Messy, very messy, I'll get the details done, add a wash or two and some highlights and call it a day for this I think. And yes, I went for the easy option of blacking out the windows. I didn't want to spend a load of time creating interior detail on this, plus...there's magnets behind four of the windows which will take guns to turn it into a mob blitzer wagon if needed

And hooked dudey here up to his back-pack

He was going to get a shiny, swirly, floating ball, but then I decided to cover it in oxide paste and crackle paint
Still needs abit of work, and starting to put together a base for him.

Couple of the cits are pretty much there, I'll wait till they're done before posting as they're so close as is.

Err, yeah, reckon that's about it...

Good luck with the fatties. I was reading "Requiem of a heavy weight" about an eating contest.

Yes it appears it was Mechanismo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mechanismo), I only had one of the later sorylines "Conspiracy of Silence".
I see, not much room for tiny judges

If you want JD stuff (or, anything random and obscure) have a look at the auctions just posted on ebay by ewarnerlib. It's the wife of a friend who recently died from cancer, and they are selling of an enormous amount of stuff that the big fella horded over the years. Worth a look.

ldd - Indeed they are, couldn't resist when you showed 'em, but honestly thought they'd be sitting around for a few years before I found a home for them It would have been better if I'd gone for the original premise of bright red, but no, I had to go the metallic route didn't I?

graven - There's Chopper graff on the 40k terrain - of course it'll be featured in MC-1! Especially as Chopper was one of my lawbreaker choices in the KS Well as it happens a Munce burger ad is damn close, but that may get re-done later. Randomn sci-fi references? Well, although that is the preserve of my cyborks, I reckon you'll be seeing something of that ilk
Spoo? Had to look that one up, never caught much of B5

Dr H - Well there is that, but then again the humbrol lids were more likely to close properly than certain GW pots

So after my head imploded under the strain of revision I did a bit of work on the cits (as always, pics show that I dodn't do quite enough, but c'est la vie)

First off, let's get that bellywheel shot for weety:

Otto Sump's Flabbon...for that fuller figure.

Couple of average joes:

So, yellow jacket needs his armband sorting out, but they'll just about past muster otherwise. Bit sloppy and the highlights aren't showing wel but what can you do? Apart from spend more time and concentration on the job that is.
I wanted that to be a little heli-pad on his shoulder - knew I wouldn't pull it off with white on grey though, so went with a micropen instead - still not great.

And an average Jill:

And Mrs Thatcher has temporarily misplaced her hand-bag, I'll have to replace that.
Sloppy around the feet and base - why is none of this visible till I've taken pics?

And Cyril Smith to go with Maggie?

Again, sloppy in places, I'll need to clean up the back and the shoes. And yes, there's a whopping great mould line across his back. And I haven't black-lined his shoes.
There's a bit more shading on the top and trousers in RL - you may notice the shots aren't taken in a usual spot, due to lighting issues. I was relatively happy with the flesh, as it's not often I'm away from green skin Needs to be a lot smoother yet, and for charactr work would need a lot more layers, but hey, these guys are basically nothing but 'scenery' for a game I don't play. They can be a bit rough round the edges
I do think a fatty would make an excellent figure to paint to a high standard though, maybe later.

That's all from me...

Dr H - Cheers! That was almost the sign, but I figured that needed some extra bling - like those spiky special offer stickers

dstein - Thanks bud! The silver turned out to be a nightmare going over the blue, still a bit patchy if you look hard - just as well this wasn't planned on being a showpiece I need to re-stock on quarter-circle rods so I can do a decent job on the undersides of the next versions. That just got some plasticard, a chariot base and some offcuts from a tube.

What can I say, MC-1 is an inspiring place

ldd - Yeah, yeah, it's not done just yet - I had planned to do a little more on it before calling it done - might even try highlighting the blue if I can mix up some suitable metallics Different project - different paint style I was aiming for more of a comic-book feel than the grimdark, hopefully I'll be a bit more focused on the minis for actual forces and will have neater black-lining for a start.

Yeah, mould line was very naughty, as were the improperly sanded lugs on his trousers and top - no focus at all when I was doing these - at least I had the sense to stick with civs for now

weety - I think it's safe to assume there'll be some satirical touches here and there And I'm hoping it'll be fun too.

graven - Thank you, another possibility I considered was 'Fatties Unite' which I thought might be amusing as he's the only one I have at present

So, just returned from the first of three exams this week - might possibly have just scraped through, but I'm doubtful - had to stay pretty focused on all the UAT stuff at work for the last 6-7 months, and tbh I was struggling before then. It's been over 20 years since any formal education, and self-study was never my forte anyway. And I certainly can't get away with no studying and just turn up to the exams like I could with GCSE's
Having thought about it and discussed with my boss, I'm going to skip tomorrow's exam in lieu of further evision for Wednesday's. That way there's a very faint chance I might get somewhere with the third one, rather than wasting the rest of the day failing to learn enough for tomorrow and sitting in the exam room twiddling my thumbs for 3 hours, and then repeating the next day

So unlikely to see an update till later in the week, although I may well be floating around other peep's blogs depending on how fried my wee head gets

edit: And no love OR hate for the chaos guy with the floating corruption? Gets ignored in favour of some sloppy citizens?

Good luck with the study I've recently had to write my first essay since university. So I know how tough it is to get back in.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. neil - Cheers dude - unfortunately they don't care about my grammar, just my ability to waffle on about political, legal, socio-cultural factors and how they impact purchasing, or what articles 12-15 of the Sales of Goods Act 1979 consist of - you know, good stuff like that

You'll certainly be seeing the ABC Warriors - I have 2 packs of those in the package, one lot for conversions Rogue will also make an appearance, along with a Souther and a dirty Nort
And no idea when, but they have shown a green of Nemesis which is awesome - I'll definitely be picking up a copy of him when he's released - maybe time to start re-thinking that Inquisition idea I had using Torquemeda and the Terminators

I suspect all the JD stuff will be heading to a new thread soon, clear this space for more green-skin goodness. But not tonight

I'm now thinking that I might do a couple of similar types, with various styles of balls - swirly, sparky etc. On the other hand that might get a bit boring - I'll just keep the concepts in mind for now.

Llama - Cheers, but I think it'll take more than luck to get me through these

OK, my bad, I wasn't going to post, but a work colleague helpfully bought home the post that was accumulating on my desk - including a supply drop or two.

Various bits from ebay - I think they might be headed towards MC-1

Some Anvil goodies - headed to a variety of places

Gorilla gangster for the Ape Gang

And a Lawmaster - the first bit of kit from my KS pledge

Plus a few Dark Future books - Route 666 and Comeback tour from the original series, and a couple of newer ones.

OK, I've eaten, I've updated...I should probably try and get another few hours of revision in......

dstein - Probably won't be getting much monkification - I may do a bit to some of the lawmasters to represent some of the different atists versions, but that's about it for the majority. Obviously there'll be a few getting shunted to realities not containing MC-1, and no doubt they will get a bit of 'attention'
Most of the JD stuff will be staying as JD stuff though - too cool to not do so

Llama - No idea I'm afraid - came from ebay - my invoice says 'Scavengers-Gentleman,stunbrella,bowlerhat'.

ldd - Sounds plausible, know they do some post-apocalyptic stuff - the tab just has a 'G' on it. And cheers, hope it worked.

neil - Be more awesome once I have a pool of them

That made me chuckle

OK, so exams done for now - might have just scraped the first, skipped the second in order to get more revision time on the third.
Which didn't help much - can't believe I did get anywhere with that. So re-takes next May, which will be loads of fun as the syllabus changes at the end of the year - no idea how that's going to get dealt with.

Anyway...

OK, first things first, any DCM's checking in need to go check out graven's Secret Santa Style thread:

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/488373.page

If you're a DCM and reading this thread, that's going to be of interest

Now that my head is unfrazzling slightly just going to take stock of where I am, and what's going on.
Apologies if this is boring for all, it's more a set of notes for myself I think.

Big new interest is JD, huge piles of stuff gradually heading my way for that- I'll get a new blog started to cover that, maybe later tonight.

Fair bit of Dreadball incoming too - some of that is earmaked for the cyborks, some may head to MC-1, some will lay around awaiting the call to whatever bizarre project needs it.

Dreamforge - Infantry coming in hopefully before Christmas, that'll probably sit on the backburner for a bit. Leviathan and APC to hit next year sometime - more than likely going to be looted by Upzag and da boyz.

Lots of gribbly things due next year from the Aien Assimilation Host too - a few infantry, a few for pure model purposes and then the rest for....? 'Nids, nurgly stuff, not sure yet, and probably won't be till after I've had it a while

And some other stuff that's pretty much just for the fun of the models.

And of more direct interest to this thread...

Cyborks:

Terrain - about 15 pieces in various stages of progress - most pip, a few still wip.

PIP - trukk, fighta, skorcha, buggies & hoverbuggy, looted wagon, bike, cyboar, couple of deffkoptas, couple of grotkoptas, 3-4 ardboyz, 6 nobz, 18 boyz, 3 tankbustas, 4 or 5 Orkus Mekanikus, 5 or so meks, 6-7 assorted types of grotz (tekkies, orderlies and grotz) and Dok GrimSnik.
Quite a few of whom have been PIP since the first couple of pages

WIP - fighta, junka, couple of buggies, at least one bike, 3 cyboars, grotkopta, 6-7 boyz, 3 nobz, 4-5 meks, 3-4 miscellaneous, and Upzag.

(Hard to get precise numbers without do a lot of delving - I'm also aware there's probably several more pieces hidden in boxes that I can't see with a quick scan - in fact, I know there's at least 8 more PIP in one of those boxes)

There's also the slorks, Trottaz Indapendant Traderz and Dik Dastardork in various states (we'll pass over Dik's compatriots for now as I doubt there'll be a chance to get back to them in'13)

Plus spotted long-forgotten pieces I was working on for Gits, WhaleMusic and Waaagh Dakka Sorry guys, my bad - those are LONG overdue

Then there's all the stuff still desperate to get out of my head and into the realms of plastic.

And all the non-greenskin projects - couple of marine forces, couple of guard forces(at least) plus associated groups like Inquisitors and Rogue Traders, nids and various chaos forces including mutants, slaaneshi beastmen, the Hell Legion & assorted marines.

Plus zombies and a variety of one-off choas bits.

Hmm, not much to do then, good job I've got all those other goodies on the way.

At the moment weekend is free, so hopefully I'll get focused on something I've already mentioned We'll see where the old ADD takes us hey?

Speaking of which, KingCracker mentioned an idea similar to this as a spawn in reference to some banter

Which led me to this:

Who doesn't need a floating mass of tentacles?

Lost control of the poses a bit as without thinking, I put it by a heater to aid curing.
Whereas I should have put it in the fridge
All the tentacles drooped and stuck together as the heat softened the putty - luckily I noticed after a few minutes and was able to salvage a fair bit - but originally there were only two tentacles that came into contact with each other. Sigh.
I'll try and pay attention when I do the lower half.

OK, you can wake up now, I've finished waffling on...

Dr H - that's courtesy of the tube tool from Masque Miniatures - I believe there may be more details inbetween pages 35 and 37 There's also an American company called GSI that does a tentacle maker - and I think that one has a nifty little feature that may make it a bit easier to use - I'll be ordering one shortly to find out.

Gits - Cheers! What doesn't in this blog? But first, it needs to finish curing and I need to add tentacles to the lower half of the body
