Finish my GKs. (very close)
Finish the extra bits I bought for my SWs. (should go quickly)
Finish my grot tanks & squiggoths.
Do at least one squad of termies & a LR for my MW and complete my first post-crusade squad.

whenever I think of such stuff like new years resolutions I start cold sweating...(like I get to think about the important things that are due...:( )
but in terms of hobby...I really should keep away from scratch building and start with my Victoria lamb stuff... I have at least two platoons waiting to get the odd lick of paint...really...these should be my duty......

and the valk screams from what I see for a gallon of simple green?...tho I might be due for a set of glasses^^

The Valk's going to get trimmed, filled, filed, and very finely airbrushed. I'm not going to risk the big green bath...

Seriously, thoughts on the Dark Talon? It's a question of whether to move the engines and stretch the wings. Almost certainly going to do the tail, and the weapon loadout's a doddle.

What's an "Avenger"? Is it better than the Dark Talon?

I think the avenger is more an IG/ Inq kinda fighter, whereas the talon is strictly marine?...if that be the case I would go the extra mile and convert it towards looking like an avenger... I think it wont be that hard a number to convert it accordingly...?...

The problem is the engine position and the wing shape on the avenger. Nasty to convert from a Dark Talon.

I think you could do that conversion graven. Use the existing wings to come down into the engines, then go buy some cheap plastic WWII aircraft model and use the with tips for the extensions out from the engines.

I would need to see the parts of both sets... either you stick with the engine place...or you maybe get away with using the wings and engines in a simple sideways swap...
or you let it all be as is and just get that dogfighter type of wing with a lil plasticcard help...

I think as long as I extend the "kick" in the wings it could work simply but effectively. We shall see...

Apparently it's part of a deathstrike missile. it's pretty much identical size wise to a valkyrie (or avenger) engine though. I'll mock up one wing and we'll see...

had a quite fruitless search for the engine bits I had in mind and now I am with you it is a death strike missile part...

and bits and kits .com has everything in stock ...just checked it

I shall resort to £€$¥ only as a final option I'll be cutting the nose off, for starters...

you did see they had four items on stock

what I like best is the catherdral look of these things... maybe you could pressmould the finished thing?

I would never do such a thing was actually thinking about that for the tail fin angels.

Mate of mine just turned them around and it looked far better although their might have been more to it.

@Vik: that's just to show what the wing will be extended with. Engine goes across the middle of the two pieces.

@ llama: the problem is I'm going to have to remove the engine mounting from the hull. Could just flip the wings but now I'm on a mission!

Engines cut off the hull. Immolator sister added as pilot. Pintel stubber added top side. Base fin cut off.

Wings: Storm raven wing added. Deathstrike with trimmed intake and exhaust. Wings braced with landspeeder doors and wing missile backing. Green plastruct braced with CoD buttress.

Probably need to stretch the nose slightly? Have to work out how to do the H shaped tail, too.

Basically a monstrous project. But not bad for a morning's work eh?

It'll be a good character building exercise...
